My little gal is loosing interest in her bottle but has a bad gag reflex with small chunks so we are still on purées. Just wondering what your breakfasts, lunches, and dinners looks like in terms of measurements?
^^^ this kid eats better than I do! Come cook for me please! Lol
i EP so dude gets about 18-22 oz of breast milk, pretty much on demand but 10 of that is usually at the sitter between 9-5. I haven't done water or anything else.
As far as food, this is what he had yesterday:
breakfast: 1/2 banana, steamed apricots
I sent 1/2 chopped avocado, about 2 oz of shredded organic turkey breast and 4 oz steamed broccoli to the sitter.
I don't really do snacks. And We don't do grains or cereals yet.
And for dinner: the rest of the avocado, grass fed ground sirloin and baked sweet potato.
So I'm super plain and conservative compared to other mamas I think. He has had no table food or dairy. No breads or pastas. Nothing processed or premade besides the occasional mum mum crackers at home and I think the sitter gives him puffs. But this is my first kid, and MIL and BIL have hard core food allergies and sensitivities so I'm trying to avoid that. I bet with kid number two I'm not as paranoid and careful.
Baby boy eats almost as much as his 6 year old brother!
Breakfast - 6oz bottle plus 1 scrambled egg and diced mango Lunch - jelly on 1 slice of wheat bread and yogurt plus 6oz bottle Dinner - usually whatever we eat. Last night half a diced chicken breast and sliced green beans plus 6 oz bottle In between meals, he eats graham crackers, fruit, cheerios or whatever I'm snacking on. Plus more formula whenever he wants it.
My boy is forever eating something. Greedy already, just like his older siblings!
LO Bf when we are together so Oz are based on when he is with daddy. 530am 4oz BM 7am waffle with peanut butter and fruit usually some sort of berry or a banana 8am 4oz BM 11am yesterday was 1 taco, 1/2 cup pineapple, 1/2 cup corn 12pm 4oz BM 2pm snack usually a pouch or crackers or trail mix or a cookie+juice 3pm 2oz BM 5pm dinner tonight was 2oz of browned deer meat, and 1 whole serving of broccoli, bell pepper, and carrots steamer. 630pm 4oz BM 3am 2-4 Oz BM
DD has 5 bottles a day though the last few days she's only taken 4. She eats Cheerios for breakfast, puréed fruit for lunch, yogurt melts and coconut chips for snack and puréed veggie for dinner. That's it.
@rjanice did you find graham crackers without honey?
Here's what baby boy had yesterday: 20 oz EBM throughout the day. Breakfast: 1/2 banana and maybe 3 tbsp whole fat yogurt lunch: corn tortilla quesadilla with red and orange bell peppers (ate probably half the quesadilla) snack: 6 oz smoothie with strawberries, banana, kale, flax seed meal, yogurt, and a little milk dinner: chicken curry with peppers, onions, carrots and potatoes. Ate probably 1/2 cup of the mix.
We've done BLW from the start and I supplemented with purées when his doc was concerned about weight gain when he started crawling. He only gets purées when I'm feeling super lazy.
6:30 - breast fed 8:30 - 2 oz fruit purée - sometimes with a little oatmeal mixed in 10:00 - breastfed 12:00 - 2 oz purée - sometimes with oatmeal 2:00 - breastfed 5:00 - breastfed 7:00 - 2 oz veggie purée - sometimes with oatmeal 8:30 - breastfed
she also gets water in a sippy cup with her purée and puffs or yogurt melts after eating as a snack.
@callistosmile no, he eats the honey ones. I give him every and anything, even a few bites of my pb&j. Although I was sure to give him a piece with little pb
@rjanice I didn't think babes were supposed I have anything with honey until after 1 because there's a risk of botulism. I'll have to check with my pediatrician. Someone at moms group told me that it doesn't cook out but I'd love to give him graham crackers! I love them so much and I always have them in the house.

Correct-you can't kill botulinum spores with pasteurization or cooking. Babies under 12 months shouldn't have it in any form. I did find cheap off brand ones that didn't have it, but they were gross, so I just give her toast when the other kids have graham crackers...
Thanks ladies! I thought it only applied to pure honey & he's the 3rd child so I should know better! Thank god he hasn't gotten sick. He's been eating them for at least 4 months!
My LO is still deciding whether to play with most food or eat it, so the food we give for BLW usually ends up on the floor or in the dog's mouth, but he has a little each day of what we're eating plus some fruit or vegetable like peaches, cherries, bananas, prunes, broccoli to snack on. I started giving probiotic oatmeal mixed with purees due to weight concerns also and he gets at least 2oz of that a day. Otherwise he's bf every 2-3 hours and occasionally snacks on puffs, cheerios, or fruit/veg melts.
Mine is still on purees thickened with oatmeal. I've tried giving him table food and while he tries it he has a real hard time. I watched him chew on a piece of chicken for twenty minutes! He did okay with a tiny bit of meatball, gagged on pastina of all thinks, did okay with Mac and cheese but wasn't real interested in it. You get the idea. He loves arrowroot cookies, puffs and the crunchies. Oh and ice cream! Little piggy!
I don't know why I didn't think of that! Adding it to my list. I love cinnamon too mmmm @missliz53
@booksandcleverness81 does your babe do a straw cup yet? My kid loves his smoothies and I can pack so much in. He eats 6 oz in like 3 minutes flat. We also have weight concerns (I think he moves too much and has his dad's super fast metabolism. Not looking forward to future grocery bills lol).
On a normal day LO gets 3 8oz bottles + a 4oz bottle overnight. What he eats for meals changes on a daily basis depending on what we are eating but yesterday was.. breakfast- a large hand full of blueberries and 3 or 4 bite sized pancakes. Lunch- a quarter of a chicken breast and 1 or 2 spoonfuls of whole kernel corn. Dinner- about 1/4 of a cup of Ground hamburger meat, a couple of spoonfuls of green beans, 3 or 4 piece of whole grain penne pasta.
He also has a snack between each meal which is usually some puffs or fruit like watermelon or his current obsession which is blueberries.
6am - 4 oz formula 8am- breakfast of something like scrambled eggs or toast with peanut butter plus some cut up fruit like peaches 10:30am - 4 oz formula 12:30pm - lunch of leftovers such as macaroni with butternut squash and broccoli or some purées 3pm - 4 oz formula 5pm - whatever we're having for dinner such as shredded chicken and sweet potatoes 7pm - 8 oz formula This has been pretty consistent. She may also snack on some fruit or Cheerios. She mostly feeds herself so I don't worry about amounts. Plus she's still getting plenty of formula.

Lunch: macaroni and cheese, zucchini, and banana
Snack: Apple sauce
Dinner: sloppy joe (omg the kid ate a whole one, torn to pieces but it was an entire one), green beans and pasta salad.
My friend was just here visiting and could not believe how much he ate. He ate more than her 3 kids combined.
All of mine are pretty good eaters though.
