Sorry to hear you had such a scare @LynnNJ. I will pray for you and your little one that everything continues to go smoothly! Sounds like your Dr is on top of it.
As for me, I'm 8 weeks and just found out yesterday that we are having Dichorionic-Diamniotic twins! We knew the odds were increased with doing IUI but I never thought it would actually happen...needless to say I am in shock! But thankfully both measured perfectly right for how far along I am and both had a healthy heartbeat.
Married: July 2013 Me: 33 DH: 34 TTC since Oct 2014 ME: PCOS not ovulating + low progesterone HSG = clear; FSH + AMH = good DH: SA = normal Apr 2015 - Dec 2015 - Letrozole + Clomid with OBGYN Jan 2016 - Referral to RE Mar 19/2016 - IUI #1 Letrozole + Gonal-F + Ovidrel + Progesterone = BFN Apr 2016 - Cyst found, on BCP for month May 18/2016 - IUI #2 Letrozole + Gonal-F + Ovidrel + Progesterone June 2/16 - BFP!!!!
@LynnNJ - scary! I'm glad to know everything is ok but I can only imagine how scary that has been. I've been spotting on and off during the pregnancy, but your story gives me reassurance that bleeding doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong. Hoping and praying that everything continues ok.
Has anyone gotten a fetal doppler monitor? Thoughts on it?
About me: Me 35, DH 36 (Unexplained Infertility, possible PCOS) TTC for 3.5 years. 10 clomid cycles (TI & IUI with ovidrel triggers - all BFN). *Loss mentioned & Trigger warning #1 IVF May 2015- resulted in 15 5-day Blasts - SET (fresh) with BFP. Ectopic Preg @ 5w2d, treated with Methotrexate. #2 FET, Sept. 2015, SET MC@8 wks with D&C in November 2015. 13 remaining blasts sent for PGS testing. 1 did not survive the thaw. 6 came back normal from PGS. #3 FET 5/16/16 SET - BFP 5/20/16 Beta's looked great and so did ultrasounds- officially released to my OB! EDD 2/1/17.
@Knottie1432834683 I'm afraid to get one because I'm afraid I will just obsess about monitoring. I've heard some people say it's hard to get the heart beat so I think I'm going to just wait for my appointments. I'm very tempted though.
Omg you guys!! So I was emailed the QNatal results yesterday which tests for downs and other chromosomal issues. Thank goodness every this is ok. But we didn't want to find out the sex and when I opened the test it said I was having a girl!! Lol. So yeah we're having a girl.
@Drove2u I commented on the other thread, but I'll ad my congratulations here as well. So exciting!
So my first OB appointment last night left me with mixed emotions. This doctor comes highly recommended, my friend delivered with him and had a great experience and he's affiliated with a good hospital not far from me. BUT...I expected to have an ultrasound done during my appointment to see the baby. Unfortunately he doesn't do ultrasounds in his office. Now I have a referral for an ultrasound, a referral to a lab for bloodwork and a referral to another doctor (MFM = maternal fetal medicine). He told me I'll have to do only a few ultrasounds as insurances are very strict with how many they allow during a pregnancy. The good thing is that he spent almost 45 minutes with me answering all my questions and gave me a ton of helpful information. Gave me a packet of paperwork to read through which explain which ultrasounds I need and when, so I have to look through that tonight. I was just expecting for everything to be done at his office since I got so used to everything being done at the RE's clinic. Guess it's different with an OB. Not sure how to feel about all of this. He did say fetal dopplers are safe to use, so I think I'll get one just so I can be re-assured all is ok until my next ultrasound at around 12 weeks.

@tulips29 thanks!! That's really annoying that you have to go to separate places for ultrasounds and bloodwork. What a pain! For my first ob appt I wasn't scheduled for an US. But I begged the midwife to just check the heart beat. They couldn't find one so then I got an US. lol. This was at 11 weeks.
@Drove2u - Congrats on baby girl! And everything else being good too! @Tulips29 - I didn't have an ultrasound at my first OB appointment either and I was a little bummed. The nurse said that they don't like to over expose the baby which in my mind made me glad we didn't do one at that time. It's taken so much just to get pregnant that I don't want to do anything that could change that. I also had to go to another facility to get my NT scan. As much as we want to see baby every time, hopefully it helps to know that a lot of OB's don't do one every time. I'm glad he was good about answering all of your questions!

@Tulips29 let me know if you get one. I have to wait a bit too for my next ultrasound so I might change my mind and get one. I wonder if they are expensive.
@Drove2u Congrats on having a girl. More importantly, it's good to hear that the baby is healthy. I have the Harmony test on Tuesday. I think it's the same thing.
It seems like a lot of stuff caught up with me. I'm not sure if it's the cold I'm still fighting or the hormones. I think it's a combination of both. After having that scare a few days ago, I've been feeling really tired. The bleeding stopped that night. Last night it started again, but not that bad this time. It seems to be winding down. I've been taking it easy and just lying around the house. I'm not sure if the lack of moving is making me feel weak and tired or if it's the pregnancy or the cold. I just wasn't feeling well yesterday. I have had mild nausea come back again periodically. I only had that the first few weeks and then I was fine. Now it's back. So week nine has not been a great one for me.
The positives were that I did get the see the baby on the ultrasound, and dh was able to be there as well. I'm feeling positive still, but I am still pretty nervous. As someone mentioned, it was helpful to read that this happens to many people and they go on to have a healthy pregnancy.
Yea, I figured I'd rather stick it out with a great doctor and go through the hassle of multiple appointments and going to different places if needed. It's so hard to find a great doctor, even though there are so many. I just scheduled my ultrasound for the 19th. They told me they do one between 11 and 13.5 weeks, so I'll be right at 13w2d at that point. My instruction sheet says it's the Nuchal Translucency ultrasound and they will also do blood for PAAP-A and Down Syndrome. Is this the same you ladies had?

@tulips29 yes I had all of those done plus the QNatal which is like harmony. That actually tests for extra chromosomes and can reveal the sex. If you don't want to know then tell them before. The NT is quick too.
@Drove2u Glad to hear the great results and congrats on your little girl!
@Tulips29 That does sound like a frustrating day! I'm glad though that you feel good about the RE and where you'll be delivering.
@LynnNJ I'm sorry to hear you've been so sickly. I'm at 9 weeks as well and this has been the worst in terms of nausea, indigestion, and snuffly nose. Hugs and hope you feel better soon! Remember, making a human is really hard so take all the rest you need!

Tulips29 - that is the scan I had at 12 weeks as well. It's a great ultrasound b/c its longer and you get to see everything! Plus baby is starting to look like a little human. I really liked that one. I think b/c we had already done genetic testing, I wasn't super worried about finding anything but more relieved to see everything looked good. @LynnNJ - hope you are feeling better soon!

*lurking* @Tulips29 My OB office operates the same way (refers U/S out) which is a pain. But if you're going to be seeing a MFM specialist, you'll most likely be seeing your baby regularly. I've been to my HR doc a few times (12wk, 16wk, & soon to be @ 19wk) so far & have seen the baby each time. Hope that helps.

@dragonfaerie I hope you feel better soon. You're almost through the 1st trimester.
I was feeling great today so I went to a few stores and took care of a few things around the house. I didn't want to strain myself so I just did things with lots of breaks and asked dh for help if I needed him to do something. (He has a bad back, so I was considerate of that. ) I ended up having another bleeding episode. It wasn't as bad as the first time but worse than 2 days ago. This time I had some cramping. ..no bad pains, but just regular cramps.
I immediately put myself on bedrest (or couchrest ) and my husband wanted to call the doctor's after answering service. Since he had another Dr on call this weekend, I ended up speaking to a different dr who didn't really help much. Basically I just wanted to report what happened to see if there's anything more I should do. Even though my dr and this one didn't say this, I think my gut of staying in bed or on the couch most of the day with periodic breaks to walk around slowly is best. That's just what my gut tells me. At least my energy is better than it was a few days ago.
@capps42613 that helps and I'm glad I'm not the only one going out for an u/s elsewhere. I already made an appointment with them for the 19th, so looking forward to seeing the baby I'm hoping they will give me a detailed protocol of how many u/s I'll be coming back for.

@Tulips29 The bleeding ended at some point yesterday. I will let the doctor know when I go in for a bloodtest tomorrow. I'm pretty positive, but I just want the bleeding to stop for good.
Hi everyone. How was your holiday weekend? Relaxing weekend here. Has anyone else had heart palpitations? I am experiencing them at night when I lay down. I read that it's common with pregnancy and happens with 50 percent of pregnancies. I know @Drove2u mentioned them in a past post. It's a little anxiety provoking. I guess knowing its normal during pregnancy helps but it can be scary.
@Joyzie77 YES!!! I have had them like crazy and they seem to be getting more intense for me. When I asked my OB about them, she said if I can't catch my breath then to give her a call. I am going to ask her again about them next Monday and I'll as MFM about them on Wednesday. They are scary and I have made my husband feel my pulse several times just so he knows that it is happening often. I even tried to hear them with my home Doppler but of course they stopped when I tried to listen. I am hoping that they lessen once I get off some of the meds.

@susykat77 It really scares me at first. Do you get them at a certain time of day? My husband is in the medical field so I had him listen with a stethoscope and he did hear the flutters. We looked it up and it's common but still scary. I am sorry yours seem to be getting worse. I think it's all the extra blood pumping from being pregnant. I'm glad you let your doctor know. I guess if you get lightheaded or can't catch your breath there could be concern. I'm not on any meds now. It just started two days ago. I hope it gets better for you! I completely understand that it can feel scary. The things they don't tell you about pregnancy!
@Joyzie77 I haven't had palpitations, but I'm sorry to hear you have! I hope they do go away soon. I hate how many things are so much "yeah, it's scary but normal." And I definitely feel like we aren't told about all the not so fun parts about being pregnant. I was hearing some lovely birth stories, and even though they were a bit gross, I appreciated the warning and knowing what to expect.

Me 35, DH 36 (Unexplained Infertility, possible PCOS) TTC for 3.5 years.

#1 IVF May 2015- resulted in 15 5-day Blasts - SET (fresh) with BFP.
EDD 2/1/17.

I had a good laugh with another prego friend that Tums makes everything so colorful though. I still feel a little wobbly this morning so I took one of the anti-nausea pills and I'm sipping some Gatorade.

@Tulips29 My OB office operates the same way (refers U/S out) which is a pain. But if you're going to be seeing a MFM specialist, you'll most likely be seeing your baby regularly. I've been to my HR doc a few times (12wk, 16wk, & soon to be @ 19wk) so far & have seen the baby each time. Hope that helps.
