Any one still baby wearing? When do you plan to stop if you haven't already? I wear my almost 2 year old when I do a big food shop and if we are away on vacations and i need to get him to sleep. Well be going away twice in August and it's just now occurring to me that I may not be able to wear him for naps! Any advice is appreciated! TIA

He wont. lol Completely out of the question. He'll forgo the nap over wearing him. It's only 2 days so it's not that bad, but it's my go to

So I don't baby wear a lot but I'm not sure how a bump would play into using your carrier- I mainly used and ergo and did it for things like a shopping trip and I would think by the time I had a bump it wouldn't work bc her bottom would need to be where my bump was and she wouldn't be sitting in her carrier correctly.... I'd think maybe up to 16-18 weeks but probably not too much longer

I personally would be nervous about weight distribution and straining things, but I'll be the first to admit that I'm not super comfortable with baby wearing in general. I tried with DD and it just didn't work for us. I want to try again with this LO because I know that people who do it regularly LOVE it and I'm clearly missing out on something that could be helpful...but I'm rambling now. Anyway, I'd have concerns about how carrying a toddler in that way for an extended period of time would effect the new baby/my body, but if it were as crucial a part of my life as it sounds like it is in yours, I would ask my OB/midwife about any risks I might be taking by continuing to baby wear. Good luck, I hope you're able to keep it up!

I don't feel comfortable babywearing while pregnant. Personal opinion. Lots of moms do. I just don't want any odd aches or pains to add to my anxiety.

I would think that if you did a back carry or side carry with an ergo you wouldn't have any problems until later in 2nd tri. I would just be mindful and if it feels weird/iffy I would just stop. @laujam31

I see lots of moms do it well into 30 weeks. I think a woven wrap would be the most comfortable because you can wrap it so the weight is focused on your shoulders. I wore my toddler in my SSC when I was only like 8 weeks along and the pressure on my uterus was too much. I don't think I'll be wearing her much but I want to try back carrying and see how it feels.

I gave up as soon as I was pregnant because I couldn't handle the weight and heat of carrying her in the wrap with my morning sickness. Now when I try it hurts my back and hips. At this point when I pick her up to carry her somewhere I have to carry her over my hips because of the blump. Should be interesting as I get further along.

My 19 month old no longer likes to be worn. However, I know a lot of people that wear their babies long in to their pregnancies, typically in back carries. For SSC carriers (like the ergo) a lot of them will hook the waist belt above their belly, but depending on your torso length and size of lo, you could hook it below your bump. Very doable. If you are a wrapper there are also ways to wrap but I never ventured in to that. It's really more your comfort level with it.

I wear my 20month old everyday in both a woven and a SSC. There are lots of ways to wear safely while pregnant. For a back carry in an Ergo/Tula buckle the waist belt above your belly when wearing. Just get your toddler nice and high on your back and you'll be a lot more comfortable. For wrapping try a DH CCB or saltwater finish TUB. Or you could do Sheperds, RRRR, Gissells, Strangleproof Ruck. They are all carries without a waistbelt but the all have chest passes or reinforcing passes to give support.
