Re: Weekly Appointments 6/27 - 7/3

  • How far along are you? 23 weeks! Craziness!

How did your appointment go overall? It was just a quick monthly check up. Everything went well. I'll be going back again on July 23 and then we have our 30 week ultrasound on August 17. Can't wait for that. We will get our 3D images and finally get to see what our little man looks like!

Any ultrasound or doppler? We were able to hear Tommy's heartbeat and it's perfect. Love that sound!

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Since my blood type is O negative and I have a negative RH factor, I will be getting the Rhogam shot on the day of my glucose testing, which will be scheduled soon. DH freaked out a bite over hearing about the shot but our dr explained it all to him.

For Fun: What movie could you watch over and over and never get tired of?  The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles. My favorite movies!! I'm a huge 80's movies and music fan!

  • @books&icecream ... yay! Such good news! Safe travels! (Also, things you thought you'd never celebrate: an internet semi-stranger's lengthening cervix)
  • @books&icecream  "out of the danger zone" - words you were crossing your fingers to hear! Glad to hear the good news - travel safely!
  • @books&icecream I'm so glad everything looks good and you're able to go on your trip!

    How far along are you?
    25w, 2d
How did your appointment go overall?
Good! I'm measuring on track, and his heartbeat was good.
    Any ultrasound or doppler?
    Just Doppler
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
She confirmed that I'm able to go Pennsylvania for our long weekend at the end of July. GD test is scheduled for 7/19, and then we go to appointments every 2 weeks! Crazy!
For Fun: What movie could you watch over and over and never get tired of?
I've always loved Ever After with Drew Barrymore.
  • I have an OB consult this morning. Fingers crossed it goes well. I've read/heard a bunch of good and bad things about him, I'm hoping its good for me. I hate being in a position that I have to stand firm and likely tell a doctor no he is not doing a repeat c section on me.
    Will report back!

25 weeks, 6 days. Holy hell, 30 weeks is creeping up fast!

How did your appointment go overall?
Boring and routine, so I would say it went well! Listened to Johnny's heartbeat, have my uterus measured, everything went smooth as butter and looked great. Now for the glucose test in two weeks. Ick.

    Any ultrasound or doppler?
Heard that little beating heart <3

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
Other than hip pain, I didn't have any. He basically said if I'm not crying and limping everywhere, it's just one of those things that happen. Especially in subsequent pregnancies.

For Fun: What movie could you watch over and over and never get tired of?
I have several of these, Interview With the Vampire, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, IT, Forrest Gump, LOTR Trilogy... All movies I feel compelled to watch periodically just out of the need to see them again!

How did your appointment go overall?
Good, thank GOD! We discussed VBAC after 2 sections. Since my last one was 2 years ago he was happy to do it. Since I have researched this extensively I was already well aware of what I was signing up for. I had a terrible time with the GP I saw for a normal prenatal clinic. He made me feel pretty shitty about even thinking about having a VBAC. So needless to say I was quite nervous about getting another similar reaction from the specialist. He was actually apologizing for the other doctors behaviour and said it was out of line, he shouldn't of given me static about giving me my referel to him. Needless to say he said to not book to see that doctor again.
    Any ultrasound or doppler?
Doppler, little man was very busy in there, it took him a few minutes to find it, all we could hear was kicking in the Doppler. But it was a good strong 160bmp
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
Yes we discussed lengthily about pros and cons of c section vs. VBAC. As long as my baby is head down (second one was breech) all is good for me to have a trial of labor. So here is to praying this baby cooperates and is in proper position.
For Fun: What movie could you watch over and over and never get tired of?
The Notebook and Titanic! Both of which I haven't seen in awhile cause it would probably make me cry uncontrollably.

  • Such good news @Schell2013 ! Here's to downward pointing baby! :)
  • How far along are you? 24 weeks

How did your appointment go overall? Good - pretty routine. Though, I gained a few pounds. Ugh.

Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler - took a while to get the heartbeat, baby was on the move and wouldn't cooperate! But, finally clocked it at 150.

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? No questions, but we discussed my hypothyroidism and when to be concerned if my dosage is now on the TOO much end of things. We also went over my anatomy scan results from MFM and all looks normal!  I also got my script for the Glucose test - 3 weeks and counting til I have to go...

For Fun: What movie could you watch over and over and never get tired of?  SO many! Dirty Dancing is an all-time fave (even got pumped to make it a shower theme but then opted out when I remembered the Penny-situation!), Pretty Woman, Legally Blonde (hmm...chick flick pattern much?), also Super Troopers and Mary Poppins.  Totally random selection!
  • @LMNOBaby ugh I gained this month too. I almost cried. I have to remember I have a growing baby in my belly!

How far along are you? 23 weeks + 5 days

How did your appointment go overall? Good :D  Our next appt is for Rhogam, sugar test, and tdap.
I've gained 2 lbs which i feel like is pretty good and it makes my overall weight gain 4 lbs.

Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler Kinzleys heart rate was 156 today and she was kicking :)

Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes, I had a bit of bloody discharge from my nipple so she scheduled me for an ultrasound on it. She said she's sure it's probably just a broken capillary (which is what i thought it might be) because she didn't feel any lumps or soreness but they want to get it checked just in case since it could be a sign of infection or cancer. The fact that she said its probably not either of those makes me feel good that it's not and I'm not even going to let my mind go there.

For Fun: What movie could you watch over and over and never get tired of?  Big Daddy and Lord of the Ring
