post c/section panties

Will bikini cut be low enough to not interfere with the wound? Or is it better to get high wasted ones to help 'hold it all in'?
Thoughts? What will you be wearing for the weeks afterward?

  • Glad you asked this because I've been wondering the same thing.

  • Bikini were not low enough and definitely irritated the incision.  I ended up going to VS and getting a bunch of boy cut in the next size up and they worked great.  I can't stand anything that goes
too high on my waist, so they were a good in between.  My incision is exactly at my bikini swimsuit line.
  • I went with some that were two sizes bigger than I normally wear and were higher waisted for comfort.  I was so excited to move back to "normal" underwear!

  • I'm glad you asked because I don't even remember what kind I wore with DD.

I was able to stick with my normal bikini ones last time. For the first week I had a nickel bandage(helps fight infection), and after that I don't remember any issues.
  • I liked having something that went up a little higher and covered my incision, and then over that I wore full panel leggings.  I also kept a pad over my incision for a few days because I got so sweaty and I needed to make sure it stayed dry - the high waisted undies and panel on the pants helped hold it all in place.  I plan to do/wear the same this time, too.

  • This time I am going to be prepared with some high-waisted undies!  My incision is pretty low and all of my regular low-rise underwear irritated the heck out of it.  So I recommend something that goes way above the incision for sure!
  • I wore big grannie panties  Probably the same this time too... eventually you can go back to cute undies!

  • I bought big ugly high waisted panties last time around but I think I'm just going to use boy shorts instead. So much more comfortable and they hit high enough so that it won't interfere with the scar.

  • I bought and wore granny panties. The underwear I wear now (normal bikini) are above my incision. I will probably still opt for the granny panties for a little bit in case things are messy. The most annoying part was they RIPPED my bandage off and took skin with it. So I had scabbing right where my pants went. If I have a repeat c-section I will definitely be request they remove it slowly to avoid this.
  • I have the basic high waisted ones nothing fancy. Just something comfortable that won't rub and irritate the incision.
  • Steal as many of the mesh ones from the hospital as you can because they so light and they breathe. Giant cotton undies are your next best bet.
