Bleeding after 6weeks of postpartum

Hi, I'm almost 8 weeks post delivery and this week I started bleeding again. Actually, after delivery there was blood for 5 weeks then 1 week I got brown discharge with funny odor. Now, I'm bleeding again. Could it be my period?

I'm breastfeeding and supplementing with formula. I still feel contraction in my lower abdominal when I breastfeed, and am not sure if this is related to uterus to excel blood.

    Are you on the mini pill?  I had a light period around 7.5 weeks after I started the mini pill.  I am EBF, I also had mild cramping for a couple of days

    Yes am taking the mini pill. And yes am having light period but its been more than 7 days now! Shall i stop it? 
    I get cramps whenever i breastfeed or pump!

    Talk to your Dr.  My first period on the mini was 10 days.  This month it has just been light spotting.  Definitely don't stop the pill without talking to your dr.
