My LO will be 3 weeks old Thursday and was sleeping pretty good. She's in our room and was being a typical infant waking about every 3 hrs to eat. Now as soon as we turn out the lights she's grunting as if she's trying to poop and crying out in pain (not hungry). She does this all night long I'm up every hour nursing, trying to burp and giving gas drops with no luck. I've tried her co sleeper and Rock and play nothing works. I'm sure there isn't much more I can do but let it pass is anyone else going through this? I'm thinking about moving her out of our room which I was really against but I need some sleep!
Re: Infant gas/grunting it's killing me!!

He is doesn't latch well so I almost exclusively pump and give him a bottle. This has actually made a huge difference. he now drinks about 4 oz every 3 hours, I put him on his stomach to burp him and no more grunting from the gas! So weird but I think when he was trying to latch, he was taking in too much air.
I still try to feed from the breast during the day and he tends to be more fussy afterwards.
Since I'd previously nursed my older two for a very long time, I didn't realize I needed a refresher course. Luckily my sister in law passed along this book in a box of baby things - it was a lifesaver! What you're describing was not my issue (baby was going like gangbusters, but I had pain), but I read the section on gassiness, colic, etc and there are some very good explanations & suggestions. Might be helpful.
