Here's mine....in February I won an award at work, and part of it is that I get a reserved parking spot for a whole year right next to the door! How perfect for a pregnant woman!!! Some TW parked in my spot today and is still there....it's been 2 hours pal, get the F out of my spot before I sick my raging hormones on you and do something like key your precious little suped up civic!
MIL is the TW today. She makes everything regarding DH a competition. Fathers day, our wedding anniversary, and his birthday all fall within 2 weeks of each other. This year I got him a big present, which I gave him yesterday, and then I'll give him a few small things on each actual day. MIL is acting ridiculous about what I got him, when he talked to her last night she said "well I guess I'll just give you money since nothing I get would compare to what your wife got you."
She always refers to me as "your wife" when I've done something that pisses her off. I will not apologize for getting DH a present that he likes. Normally his family doesn't even give him anything for his birthday so it's not like he even has any expectations with them.
My my family is all about holidays and birthdays, we do them up big, we always have, even if it's just making the person feel special on their day. DHs family is the opposite, they don't act much different than any other day. Which is fine, not every family does holidays the way I do but I won't apologize for it. F off MIL.
My annoying co worker is back from medical leave, and I just ... can't. Prior to recently I admit I had enabled her by double checking a lot of her work, fixing mistakes before it impacted the partners or the clients. She was in a lot of pain due to a medical issue and waiting on surgery to resolve it, so I kinda understood making stupid mistakes all the time. Since her return - I have too much going on to do it that, and her medical issue is resolved, and I won't be here to do it soon...
I'm currently listening to her tell her trainer about how she has been "straight out" the last two days, so hasn't gotten to the training she was scheduled for. The training which I proposed as a possible solution to the partners in the firm being ready to fire her, despite the fact I am on my way out the door on maternity leave (which would be a nightmare.)
The reason she has been straight out? She screwed up a bunch of things, and it takes twice as long to fix it, as to just take a little more time and get it done right. So a project which should have taken an hour took three - 45 minutes to do it wrong, then two hours to fix it. Which is why after being with us for five years, she is getting remedial training... Which she doesn't have time for because she was "too busy" screwing up more things and attempting to resolve them.Things which are pretty core to her duties, and she should know how to do blindfolded. Make time, before you give one of the partners a coronary.
It's going to be ... interesting... while I am gone!
My husband's company. UGH! They just told him they need him to go to China for a week within the next three weeks. He could leave as soon as this Sunday and while I'm not mentally prepared for him to go that soon, I would rather that then mid-July. I want to cry.
Random strangers that make comments without thinking.
A lady at the grocery store said "Wow! You are huge, must be about ready to have that baby." I just did the uncomfortable laugh and said, "Not for another 7 weeks." She then keeps all the perkiness in her voice and says, "Congratulations to both of you!" and starts to walk away...just then DH practically yells to her, "Thanks, but she's just trying to trap me--not even sure its mine."
He thought it was the funniest thing ever and I am pretty sure the lady as well as everyone around us was mortified, but he said he was annoyed with her huge comment so he thought he should make a comment that would make her feel equally uncomfortable.
@kristynmac That made me laugh... Sounds like the kind of thing my DH would say.
What's up with all the comments from random people about being huge? That's just plain rude. I'm pretty awkward and say some dumb shit sometimes, but I still know better. FWIW, I think everyone looks great in their HDBD pics!
@LWC1112 I'm sorry, that sucks! I agree that going now would be better, but it still is hard to prepare for that kind of trip in such a short amount of time!
Thanks @bookhousegirl Plans are still in the works, but it is looking like it will be mid-July. Luckily, we have enough airline miles to fly my Mom here to stay with me and DD just in case something happens.
@kristynmac that is hilarious! Also I will never understand why "huge" is used as an adjective to describe pregnant women! The other day I told my mom I felt so big and she said "well you are big". Cool mom.
@kristynmac totally something my husband would say. Yesterday we were walking in to Petco, and there was this woman standing outside smoking she just shook her head and said, "oh, I don't envy you right now". My husband said " Thanks, I'm miserable!".
@Mfuller76 Just random people? Ha. I'm getting comments from relatives too..
Which is why I dedicate this twatwaffle Tuesday to DH's Nana. She made her homemade bread pudding for our Father's Day family get-together. I have issues with this woman right now anyways, so I was trying to be nice when telling her how excited I was to have a small piece. Her response was, "By the looks of you, you don't even need a bite of it." Eff off. By the sound of your voice, doesn't seem like you should be puffing on that cigarette of yours. But you don't see me over here telling you how to live your life. God bless my MIL- She cut me a big piece of it and hid it till after Nana left.
@LWC1112 Wheb DH was supposed to travel for a week, across the country, in mid-July I was also planning to have my mom stay with us (DS and I) during that time. Glad you are able to do the same, even just for peace of mind!
@alyssajrob22 what?! That's so obnoxious! I would have eaten a giant piece right then and there, just to make a point of how out of line that comment was!
@Bookhousegirl I probably should have done that, but decided that I wasnt in the mood to be judged while eating some dessert. Felt pretty justified though when DH was mad at her after telling him about it.
@Lynnlove28 I couldn't agree more. Thank goodness for DH. He has the best sense of humor. When my raging hormones make me want to throat punch someone, he's witty enough to bring humor into the situation.
@alyssajrob22 WTF?! In laws can be the worst. I probably would have cried.
alyssajrob22 I totally feel you. Not this time (yet), but with DD my own grandmother constantly told me how big I was. Yes, I was freaking huge, I had pre-eclampsia and was carrying a TON of water weight. I lost it all 11 days after DD was born, so shove it!
