Re: Fitness and Exercise Check-In 6/20/16

  • 1.  What was your pre-BFP routine?

Running (HMs and other medium-distance races) and hot yoga.

    2.  What is your post-BFP routine?

Currently walking.  Hoping to get back to yoga once I don't feel nauseous all the time anymore.  Running is on hold because I have a small subchorionic hematoma.  My midwife said that running would not hurt the baby but is likely to cause spotting, and I just don't want to deal with that right now.

    3.  How did you do with last week's goals?

I walked my dog almost every day, which was my exercise goal, but I let my diet go a bit.  I need to cut back on the sugary drinks that I've been craving and work at getting more protein into my diet.  I do have eggs every morning, but that's probably not enough.  I can still hold down most foods so I really need to suck it up and get healthy again.  Luckily I still love and crave vegetables, so at least I'm doing that part "right."

    4.  What are your fitness and healthy eating goals for this week?

Keep up the dog walking, eat fish twice and beans on the days I don't have fish, get some less-sugary yogurt for my dairy.

    5.  Bonus GTKY: How did you spend your Father's Day?  Do anything fun or special?

We're celebrating tonight, and plan to let my parents know about the baby.  For some reason I'm so nervous, even though it's almost definite that they will be happy about the news.

  • 1.  What was your pre-BFP routine? Well I was going to start the C25K again but kept failing to actually complete week 1...

    2.  What is your post-BFP routine? I plan on still trying to do the C25K though probably at more of a light jogging pace than running. If that becomes too much I'll just make sure I walk at least 3 days a week.

    3.  How did you do with last week's goals? Really crappy, didn't exercise and I still had a lot of processed food that I ate.

    4.  What are your fitness and healthy eating goals for this week? This week when I go shopping I'll buy healthier less processed food. I'm going to do week 1 of the C25K just at a slower pace than originally planned. I'm thinking speeds 3 and 5 on the treadmill for walking and jogging respectively.

    5.  Bonus GTKY: How did you spend your Father's Day?  Do anything fun or special? We went to see DH family on Saturday and got to hang out with our nephew who is almost 9 months old! Then Sunday we got up early and took the motorcycle through white mountains in NH on Kancamagus Highway and had breakfast at Flapjacks in Lincoln, NH. Then rode back home and had a relaxing day.

  • 1.  What was your pre-BFP routine?
I got a FitBit at the beginning of May and had been walking around my neighborhood.

    2.  What is your post-BFP routine?
Unfortunately, it's gotten hot and humid in Michigan. I try to get up early to walk, but the 80% humidity is forcing hour long walks down to 30 mins. I'm hoping to save some money to buy an elipitcal.

    3.  How did you do with last week's goals?
I makde my 5,000 step goal each day (okay I think one day the MS was too bad to make it).

    4.  What are your fitness and healthy eating goals for this week?
Keep eating salads, yogurt, and fruit. Keep drinking water. I drink at least 64oz of water but it usually is around 100oz (those 24oz Tervis cups work wonders for me!).

    5.  Bonus GTKY: How did you spend your Father's Day?  Do anything fun or special?
Neither my dad or my DH's dad live near us. We called everyone but just went out to Red Robin to have our own Father's Day celebration. It's rather premature since we're pregnant with Baby #1, but we'll take whatever we can get!
  • 1.  What was your pre-BFP routine?
Running and training for half marathons. I got in 20 - 30 miles a week.

    2.  What is your post-BFP routine?
Still running. Luckily, I have no reason to stop just yet, so 20 - 30 miles a week have been great.

    3.  How did you do with last week's goals?
Great! I have noticed my legs getting tired more quickly than usual, but breathing is fine so far.

    4.  What are your fitness and healthy eating goals for this week?
Im going to start eating a banana and/or drinking more water in addition to running gels I eat before a run to see if that fixes the leg muscle fatigue problem.

    5.  Bonus GTKY: How did you spend your Father's Day?  Do anything fun or special?
Told DH's parents while they were in town about the pregnancy.
  • @xstatic3333 Great idea to start this thread!

    1.  What was your pre-BFP routine?
I was doing 50 minutes of HIIT 4-5 days per week.

    2.  What is your post-BFP routine?
I injured myself in what was probably week 3, so now that I'm recovered, I'm trying to figure it out. :) I'm thinking walking or stationary bike for at least 30 minutes 5x per week.

    3.  How did you do with last week's goals?
    Didn't participate last week.

    4.  What are your fitness and healthy eating goals for this week?
    Let's say 30 min 5x this week.

    5.  Bonus GTKY: How did you spend your Father's Day?  Do anything fun or special?
I don't live near my family, so we just chilled in the yard. I had a MC last fall, so DH and I didn't want to make a big deal of it, just in case.

  • 1.  What was your pre-BFP routine?

Sometimes at home videos, mostly walking though this spring

    2.  What is your post-BFP routine?

Lots of walking and maybe doing prenatal home videos

    3.  How did you do with last week's goals?

Terrible, I've had a sinus infection or allergies or something. And I can't hardly do anything without getting lightheaded and super hot. Plus minor nausea all day. Hopefully this congestion is the cause. Since it's clearing up, maybe I can get back on track.

    4.  What are your fitness and healthy eating goals for this week?

As long as I start feeling better, I'm planning on a prenatal video I picked up from library (it's convenient since I get bored easy and if I don't like it it didn't cost me any $). And walking.

    5.  Bonus GTKY: How did you spend your Father's Day?  Do anything fun or special

We have 2 kids already, they picked a card and a bag of sour gummy worms for husband. I also gave him a card with a baby #3 reference note inside and candy. He went to bed (he works 12 hours over night) and kids and I drove out to my in laws to give a card to my father in law and then to my parents to visit my dad. It was kind of boring actually but I think all the dad's were thrilled anyway. (We live an hour away from all family, so they are always happy for a visit).

  • 1.  What was your pre-BFP routine?

I biked to work 3-5 days a week, plus PT twice a week.

    2.  What is your post-BFP routine?

PT 3 times a week, and a little less biking. I just haven't had the stamina.

    3.  How did you do with last week's goals?
Eh. I biked to work twice and  I got out for a 17 mile ride on Saturday.

    4.  What are your fitness and healthy eating goals for this week?

Sunday the doctor told me that I should be on bed rest until Thursday. Then he agreed that it probably wouldn't do a bit of good. We compromised on no bicycling and no lifting anything above 10lb for a week or two. My goal is to not go crazy.

    5.  Bonus GTKY: How did you spend your Father's Day?  Do anything fun or special?

The fella took the kid for a bike ride. I was jealous and made steak to console myself. It was appreciated by all. ;)

I use youtube for workout videos for the same reason - if you don't like you didn't pay anything and you never have to do it again. I just search XX minutes workout prenatal. There's tons of stuff!
