Re: Tuesday Ticker Change (6/21/16)
What's new with baby? (how far along, size & development?) 12 weeks! The size of a plum. I’m so excited that it’s now something that actually fills up my entire palm. It’s kind of gross, but also cute, knowing it’s in there peeing and then drinking its own pee as it swallows amniotic fluid and peeing it back out.
Even though it's early, is there anything you're doing to plan/get ready for the baby's arrival? I’m de-stressing my work life early in preparation and my company has been so freaking amazing about that too. I was the only engineer on my team, so as soon as I told work about my pregnancy they decided to reallocate another engineer from another team to join me on my team starting tomorrow so that she’ll have a few months to get up to speed and be prepared to take over when I am gone for 3 months
Rants/Raves/Symptoms/Questions? I’m just happy. It’s so weird feeling this much love for someone I haven’t even met yet. I’ve been having headaches but they’re so mild that it’s hard to really call them headaches. Other than that, I just feel good. Hungry all the time, but good.
When is your next appointment? I have an elective ultrasound on Friday just for the sake of getting to see the baby, then I have my next OB appointment in 2 weeks.
GTKY: What’s your favorite candy? I love peanut butter M&Ms. I don’t really eat much candy but I have a hard time resisting them and have definitely purchased the “sharing size” kind before for just myself...
9 weeks today, the size of a cherry and now a fetus!
Preparation:
Nothing yet really. We close on our new house next week, so once we are moved in I'm sure the nursery preparation will start!
Rants, Raves, Symptoms:
The MS has been extra awful the past week. Got some diclegis from the dr last week, but haven't seen much of an improvement. I do feel like I'm getting a bit of energy back, so that's good!
Next Appointment:
July 18th for the 12 week check up. We aren't doing any genetic testing, so just your typical pee in a cup and hopefully listen to the heart beat on the Doppler!!
Favorite Candy:
Reeses peanut butter cups! I can never get enough. I especially love the pumpkin or egg ones that come out for Halloween and Easter. Even though they're the same, they're just better for some silly reason. I tend to stock up when they come out!
What's new with baby? (how far along, size & development?) 11 weeks today, baby is the size of a lime
Even though it's early, is there anything you're doing to plan/get ready for the baby's arrival? We bought a sit and stand stroller, it arrived yesterday. We were going to wait to get it but then I saw it was almost sold out online and in stores near us so we didn't want to risk not getting the one we wanted. We put it together and my daughter is in love with it and wanted me to push her through the house last night.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms/Questions? MS has eased up a bit but still pretty nauseous through the day. Having the hardest time with fluids, no drinks sound appealing to me, not even water.
When is your next appointment? 12 week ultrasound next Wednesday.
GTKY: What’s your favorite candy? I love any kind of gummy candy like jujubes, sour kids, cherry blasters etc.
@nolemomma14 We can't keep Reese's peanut butter cups in the house because DH and I will eat a bag in a few days. They're definitely our favorite too! Also I hope you feel better soon!
What's new with baby? (how far along, size & development?) 11 weeks today! Growing hair follicles and fingernails, moving around, and hiccuping.
Even though it's early, is there anything you're doing to plan/get ready for the baby's arrival? We finally got our house back in order this weekend, so now on to cleaning out the 2nd bedroom (read: storage room) that will be the nursery. I expect this to take many hours and trashbags. I've also been building up some things for the registry on pinterest. I'm not expecting to get a shower, so the registry is mainly for the completion discount, and my mom's friends who will kindly send something our way.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms/Questions? I was feeling so great for like 3 days in a row last week. I really thought that I was seeing the light at the end of the 1st tri tunnel. But no, it was just a train. I feel like utter poop again. It's so warm and wonderful outside, and I'm really needing to feel better so I can enjoy it. Also, I'm really ready to get back in the gym. I packed my bag today, so I'm hoping that the super healthy lunch I packed will inspire me to go. We'll see. Honestly, I'm just hoping I can eat the lunch.
When is your next appointment? July 13!
GTKY: What’s your favorite candy? It's a tie between Sweetarts and Mike&Ikes.
What's new with baby? (how far along, size & development?) Peanut is the size of a champagne cork. I feel like that's a solid reference point for me rather than fruit. He/she can also wiggle fingers and toes now!
Even though it's early, is there anything you're doing to plan/get ready for the baby's arrival? We're telling everyone this week! I've been really nervous following a spotting episode last week so we decided to hold off until the 12 week scan. Now that we've seen the baby is healthy, it's game on!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms/Questions? Holy hunger! I still have occasional nausea but now I'm starving! I'm also really starting to get my energy back and feel like myself. I could do without the excess discharge though (but I know it's for a good cause).
When is your next appointment? We see the OB on Friday for our 12 week appointment. I believe we'll also hear the results of our NTS.
What’s your favorite candy? I have a 2lb bag of Sour Patch Kids in my desk drawer at work. Also anything peanut butter, but mostly Reese's and M&Ms.
What's new with baby? (how far along, size & development?) 11 weeks today. Sizeof a lime? Seems kinda big for 11 weeks but maybe.
Even though it's early, is there anything you're doing to plan/get ready for the baby's arrival?we are so happy we found a daycare! Every place has had a 1.5-2year waiting list. The place we found is a small daycare center that offers part time infant! No place has ever offered part time infant. One place we could have gotten into was 190/week if we joined their church if not it was 205/week. This place is 123/week for part time (we don't need full time) They were great!!! I know 2 people that go there and i will be talking with them. I had just a really really good feeling about it.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms/Questions? well cats outta the bag. I told my family. My mom was the most excited and is already looking at things to buy. Slow down mama!
When is your next appointment? next week. Actually 1 week from today I'll get to hear my little ones heartbeat (hopefully). No US until im 18 weeks. So excited for that too.
GTKY: What’s your favorite candy? oh boy. Either peanut butter m&ms or sixlets
What's new with baby? (how far along, size & development?)
12 weeks
Even though it's early, is there anything you're doing to plan/get ready for the baby's arrival?
Not much other than rearranging our budget to start saving money for maternity leave
Rants/Raves/Symptoms/Questions?
After two pregnancies with horrible all day sickness, it's nice to have one without it. No aversions to smells or food either (other than spaghetti with tomato sauce).
When is your next appointment?
U/s tomorrow, mfm appt on Thursday, and primary ob/gyn on July 7
GTKY: What’s your favorite candy?
Strawberry cheesecake jelly bellys
@canavara I am so happy for you that your work has been awesome about your pregnancy! Good luck at your ultrasound on Friday!
@nolemomma14 Congrats on your new house! Hopefully your morning sickness doesn't impact the moving process.
@Smiley-1980 What kind of stroller did you get? I have zero experience with baby products so I'm trying to get as many recommendations as possible from all sources!
@cjs260 I feel you on being juked that you thought you were feeling better at the end of the first trimester. Hopefully you start feeling better for longer periods of time! Good luck cleaning out the bedroom. That sounds like a whole bunch of nope....
@christac1010 Yay! Have fun announcing to everyone! How exciting!
@KarliQ88 Super jealous you already found a daycare for a reasonable price! That's got to be such a relief! And congrats on telling your family!
@elvinnoe So glad you are not feeling as bad as previous pregnancies! Lucky! Good luck at your ultrasound tomorrow!
What's new with baby? (how far along, size & development?) 11 weeks. Baby is the size of a poker chip!
Even though it's early, is there anything you're doing to plan/get ready for the baby's arrival? Reaching out to day cares but none have responded to my emails. I guess I will have to start calling. I get major anxiety about talking on the phone so this will be difficult...
I'm also planning to ask my boss for a promotion this week before I break the news that I'm pregnant (hoping to wait a few more weeks before it's so obvious that I'll have to tell him). Last August, he promised me a promotion effective January 1st of this year, and that never happened. So I'm going to try to get promoted/get a raise before I break the news. Unfortunately, my asshole boss and our corrupt board of directors would totally use my pregnancy against me...
Rants/Raves/Symptoms/Questions? I am still feeling like absolute shit. Still fighting morning sickness and migraines.
There was one good day last week where I went to the gym for the first time in a month. I did what would normally have been a very easy workout but it was pretty intense this time.
Question: has anyone else been experiencing moderate to severe cramping? I have had mild cramping pretty much the entire pregnancy. But last week it got really bad. Like period cramps but worse than anything I've ever had. I also had sharp, shooting pains in what I think was my cervix. I called my OB and they told me it could be a spastic colon and mild dehydration. They said as long as there's no bleeding, even severe cramping is normal, but it still has me worried.
When is your next appointment? I saw my OB yesterday, where I heard baby's heartbeat on the Doppler! Also had blood drawn for genetic testing (mainly interested in results of the cystic fibrosis screen, as that runs in my family), but that also means we'll be finding out the sex in about 2 weeks. My next appointment should be nothing special, but it's scheduled for July 19th.
GTKY: What’s your favorite candy? I do not discriminate, I am a total candy fiend! My family jokes that it's a miracle I don't have diabetes from all the sugary candy I used to eat as a teenager. My absolute favorites are Skittles and a frozen Reese Cup
BFP!!! 5/6/2016

It's a girl!
What's new with baby? (how far along, size & development?)
Baby is the size of a Strawberry! 10weeks!
Even though it's early, is there anything you're doing to plan/get ready for the baby's arrival?
Just looking at stuff. I like to look at strollers and car seats
Rants/Raves/Symptoms/Questions?
I had my first appointment today and I measured right at 10 weeks! We saw baby in the ultrasound and it was wiggling his arms and legs. So cute! Baby looked and measured great. The only this is I am disappointed because the doctor wasn't very supportive of continuing running while pregnant. She said to continue but go very slow. Which is super hard for me because I've been running for several years and to slow down is super hard.
When is your next appointment?
July 19th
GTKY: What’s your favorite candy?
Gummy bears!
As for the daycare thing i found i got contacted much much quicker if i called.
I'll have to deal with my phone anxiety and just call day cares. I am scared to death that the good ones will have crazy waiting lists. I just wish more businesses would get with the times and respond to emails! It's so much easier to respond on your own time! At least that's my preference.

It's a girl!
What's new with baby? (how far along, size & development?) 8 weeks, the size of a pygmy sea horse! Apparently starting to form hands, my Ovia app now shows a teeny tiny hand print supposedly to scale.
Even though it's early, is there anything you're doing to plan/get ready for the baby's arrival? We're leaving on Thursday for a trip to visit my family, and we're going to tell all of them. We'll probably start actually preparing after we get back from the trip. I've been working on those kegel things though, does that count?
Rants/Raves/Symptoms/Questions? I was so relieved yesterday to see the young'un and hear its heartbeat, and to find out that the pain in my side was just a stupid little cyst. I was also extremely impressed with our hospital, they have so many free classes and it seems as though I can have the birth I want and not the standard, military, tied-to-a-bed, "what is a birth plan" type of delivery that I see in so many other military hospitals.
When is your next appointment? July 6! Get to meet the OB and discuss everything.
GTKY: What’s your favorite candy? There's a candy that I believe is from the UK, called a Bounty Bar. It's so amazing, it's essentially an Almond Joy without the almond. People say, "wouldn't that be Mounds?" No. Mounds are dark chocolate, but Bounty Bars are milk chocolate. I've only ever found them in the European section of Wegman's.
Jan '17 August siggy challenge: Cat fails
Omg, so many good candies mentioned. I feel like I need to go to Walmart right now and stock up.
What's new with baby? (how far along, size & development?)
Baby is the size of a lime at 11 weeks.
Even though it's early, is there anything you're doing to plan/get ready for the baby's arrival?
We have started looking at double strollers, cribs and highchairs.
