@TaylorMichel welcome! My numbers are on the low end of normal for my age, but my RE is also surprised by just how poor my response was and keeps talking about how she should be able to do better. Good luck with your next cycle!
@BlueEyedDreamer It's totally fair to be thrown for a loop after a CP. My last one - in April - was much harder on me than previous ones. I even sought out a counselor who specializes in IF counseling. Do whatever you need to take care of you. Thinking of you!

We just got word today that IUI #2 failed!! So onto IVF, only good part about the nurses call was that she is going to try to get my approval faster than anticipated and that maybe just maybe I can start the bc pills this week instead of having to wait until later July to start anything!! So here's hoping they can get the approval.

Right - was waiting for our fertilization report before posting our update from ER yesterday.
On Friday, I had 4 follies all at 17-17.5mm with estrogen at 1,226 so I triggered Friday night with ER Sunday at 6a. They could only find 1 egg and confirmed that the single follie on my right ovary was a cyst. Based on my numbers, they were pretty sure there was another egg (or two) in there somewhere so they took me straight from the operating room into an IUI room to try to make sure they "caught" all the eggs.
Thankfully I got the call today that our single egg was Grade A at retrieval and today is mature, looks great and successfully fertilized. So now we wait and hope and keep everything crossed that our single egg becomes a beautiful embryo.

@wifeinraleigh28 I totally get your feelings about your friends. Had dinner with a friend who is 4 months pregnant the other night, and it put me in a weird mood. She complained the whole time about not being able to drink. Just overall seemed childish and really annoyed me. Doesn't seem fair sometimes. Keep your chin up though - it'll happen for you!!!

Thank you everyone for all your kind thoughts! It means so much to have all your support! There's so much going on this week I'm trying to keep track!
@msirni0 great looking embryo! Congrats on being PUPO and I hope the 2ww isn't too painful.
@UnicornsPlease welcome! I also dealt with nausea during stimming with gonal-f and menopur. Along with bloating and migraines it was pretty rough! I'm sorry you've been hit hard with nausea and I hope you can get some relief once your retrieval happens.
AFM had a Followup with my RE today to see what she thinks went wrong with my last cycle. She said in most Ivf failures it's 80% due to the embryo, 20% due to the uterus. So she's pretty sure just by luck of the draw that a "abnormal" embryo was put in (I only had one put in and didn't have PGS testing) and that's the reason why it didn't take. My uterine lining looked great and my levels were all perfect. So with 7 embryos left on ice we are just going to try again once AF starts so @wifeinraleigh28 looks like I'll be doing my FET #2 in mid-July! Happy we can jump right into it and hopeful for the lucky embryo that will work this next time around. I really want to put in two next time but that's the one thing dh is absolutely putting his foot down on so we will only do one. I know it's the right thing to do just would love our chances to be better with two.

@wifeinraleigh28 Im sorry you had such a bad day. During my 2nd stim cycle, my brother called me to say he was having another baby. It was mighty awkward on my end because it was right at the time I was doing my daily injections. I didnt cry but I did not sound enthusiastic to his news.
TRIGGER
AFM - my beta was fantastic! number is at 415!! I did have an extra day since I needed to move it. However my nurse expects it to be doubled in 2 days when I go for my 2nd Beta.
Really funny, We announced to my family last night the news. But before that my brothers fiance was chatting about the wedding and how her one friend had to get a new dress because she will be pregnant then. I hadnt announced yet so I had to hold back laughing too hard. Didnt plan to announce yesterday but Hubby was mighty eager to tell. However we still havent told his parents, which makes me wonder if he at least told his dad.
My Dr has me on birth control to suppress the ovaries before I prep for IVF. Today is my 12th day on BC (started right after my last period ended) and I had some rogue spotting this evening.
It's been a while since I've been on BC, but is that normal? My system is usually quite predictable, so I'm a little concerned over spotting less than two weeks after my period ended.
Has anyone had this? Or does anyone have thoughts as to what's causing it?

@LeFemmeViolette I had the same exact thing happen right before I started this cycle of stims. My nurse said it's not uncommon for women on the first month of pills, and it hasn't adversely affected my cycle at all. No real word on WHY it happened, but seems more a nuisance than anything else.

AFM: I had egg retrieval this morning and they got 42 eggs! The Dr. explained that a lot of these likely won't be mature - at my last US on Saturday I had 27 measurable follies ranging from 10mm-19mm, with the majority on the smaller size. So I think for practical purposes I will have many drop off by tomorrow and not be mature enough to fertilize. But I am still so excited and hope we get some good numbers tomorrow! We are doing PGD & PGS and many are likely to not test normal, so the higher numbers going into it for me the better!
I am hydrating and chugging Gatorade like crazy and any tips for recovery would be much appreciated!
And on a funny note, my DH told me before I fully came-to after the procedure I was trying to fist bump everyone in the room. I also told the anesthesiologist he would be going in my thank you letter! My DH was cracking up!

@FatPony they're prescribed me medrol but I haven't started it yet! Really looking forward to it now that you said it tastes so great haha. I am assuming I'll have to take it after the transfer?
My retrieval was pushed to Wednesday so I took my trigger tonight! It stung a little more than I expected. Hadn't really had a problem with any of the previous injections. But I am really happy it is finally time and the retrieval is so close! Hoping we get a good amount of eggs - dr told me this morning that some follies were measuring 21 so hopefully that's a good thing! DH has procedure tomorrow for testicular biopsy (MFI). He's so nervous but sleeping now. Transfer should be next Monday!
@LittleSunshine wow, 42 eggs, that's great. How are you feeling??? @kfras we will be retrieval buddies, since I was bumped to Wednesday. Sounds like you have some good measurable follies. Good luck today for your hubby. @Foxy8609 congrats, that's so exciting!!! @emgem819 I'm sorry your 1st didn't work, but having 7 on ice is ahhhh-mazing and the fact you get to move so quickly is great. We didn't do the testing bc of $$ and from what I have read and seen, the testing doesn't guarantee a BPF, just spares you the guessing of which egg to put in. AFM: they bumped my RE up from Friday to Wednesday. As of yesterday, there were about 13 measurable follies, with estrogen around 3745, so we will see tomorrow what that leads to. Hope everyone has a good day, being that I don't have to touch any injections today is a good start

Hi all, I'm new and I have been anxiously awaiting my 3-day wait to join you on the message boards, but my account isn't working and I couldn't stand to wait any longer so I am on my old Knot account for now.
My husband and I just got married in January. We have been together for several years and we are ready to have a baby. I have PCOS so I knew it might not be easy. I went to the fertility doctor and eventually found out (through Hysteroscopy) that I also have a blocked fallopian tube.
We are supposed to move overseas in mid to late August to a country that does not have adequate fertility care so we really only get one shot at this before we go so we decided to go with an aggressive approach (considering we are only just starting to try) and do a round of IVF.
I've been on BCP for 4 weeks and last night was my last pill! Everything looked good at my baseline yesterday and I start my injections on Friday.
My tentative schedule for ER & ET is is July 6 (ER) and July 11 (ET).
I'm so excited and also nervous. Reading everyone's posts has really been helpful to me. It's great to find such an active forum.
@ADRIANAC1982 Sorry about the IUI BFN, but exciting to be moving on to IVF! I wish I had been able to move directly to IVF after my IUI, but took a cycle off. In retrospect, I should have requested to do the BCPs right off the bat while waiting for BCBS to approve my IVF. Fingers crossed things move quickly and you can start sooner than later. My insurance authorization only took about 14 days.
@emgem819 Glad you get to move on from this cycle soon and that you have some frosties waiting for you! Best of luck!
@LittleSunshine 42 eggs!??! That is amazing, how are you feeling?
@msirni0...I agree . The wait is the hardest part. I don't find out until next Tuesday and it's going so slow.
Any tips from anyone on how to reduce stress and anxiety during this 2WW-time? I usually work out or have a glass of wine at night which are both"x" right now. LOL

@msirni0@annebenton22 Yes this was my first embryo transfer and the worst 2ww ever! It's moving at a glacial pace and does not help that work is not that busy this week. I'm doing acupuncture again today, so hopefully that will help me relax a bit.
@LittleSunshine Lol at trying to fist bump everyone! That gave me a good chuckle this morning
@LeFemmeViolette I started BC on day 6 of my cycle, since that is the day I had my Dr appt, and I had brown spotting the entire time. After 2 weeks on the BC I started having bad cramps and a couple days of light red bleeding. Luckily, I got the go ahead to go off the BC and begin my IVF stims. I'm a little worried when it comes time for the FET that the BC isn't going to control my cycle like it should!

i also have bcbs ppo of Massachusetts. I didn't need an auth for IUI and was told by them I didn't need one for IVF too, but apparently did. FX for you. My auth process began over a holiday weekend, so i imagine that added to the delay. Hope it moves faster for you!

We are moving to Kazakhstan for my husband's job. We were expecting to move to the UK up until about 2 months ago so it's kind of a sudden twist. It's been very stressful trying to figure out how to fit fertility treatments into an international move. Our US insurance runs out when we move so if we don't get pregnant this time then we will probably try again in about a year somewhere in Europe.
Does anyone know if it's possible to change your user name?
@lilmissslp I actually got a tattoo on my foot of an anchor just like that for the reason in that little saying...it was my first one and felt this journey would be a hard one as I had only just begun when I got it and needed a little strength and hope to get me through
@msirni0 Congrats on your beautiful embaby and good luck during the TWW!
@Knottie17863111 Welcome! I hope everything goes well for your upcoming cycle.
AFM - I am on day 6 of Lupron injections to get ready for my FET and I am finally starting to feel normal again, slowly. I have noticed something that is making me very nervous. I have been feeling sharp pains in my ovaries similar to the pain I felt while stimming. I am worried that I still have a couple of follicles growing. I have an appointment on Friday to check my suppression and I feel like it won't go well and they will end up moving my transfer back which would be devastating.
Any advice?

So... what is the deal with sex during stims. My doctor said no sex during stims at our IVF consult and the nurse said nothing 2 days before ER. Do we leave DH to his own devices? The fact that I even have to wonder about these things is amazing to me. Who knew I"d be worried about when NOT to have sex when trying to make a baby!
@wifeinraleigh28 thank you! Beta is July 1! How are you doing? When do you start stims?
@knottie17863111 welcome! Wow you have quite a bit going on! FX that everything works out for you guys!
@adrianac1982 hope everything goes through quickly for you! GL and welcome to the IVF club! Sucks to be here, but if you are anything like me, the constant stuff that is going on will make it mentally easier than the IUI process. You got this
@annebenton22 and @mjacks16 glad you're in this wait with me! Hope it goes by fast for us and we all get great news soon! I'm trying to just stay busy as much as I can and not think too much about it. I've been doing some meditating and positive affirmations to help me be patient.
Also--just got an email from my nurse and we have 4 frosties I am really thrilled with the results of this cycle and hearing that makes every last needle so worth it!

It's been a while since I've been on BC, but is that normal? My system is usually quite predictable, so I'm a little concerned over spotting less than two weeks after my period ended.
Has anyone had this? Or does anyone have thoughts as to what's causing it?

@msirni0 Good luck on the transfer! Your embryo is very cute and I hope this is the one for you!
@Foxy8609 Congrats on the beta!! That sounds like a great number, and how exciting that you got to enjoy that moment sharing the news with your family

@kfras we will be retrieval buddies, since I was bumped to Wednesday. Sounds like you have some good measurable follies. Good luck today for your hubby.
@Foxy8609 congrats, that's so exciting!!!

@BornReady I def hope it does not take 14 days, because I should start the bc by Saturday....For the IUI were were very last minute but got the approval pushed through within like 48 hours. I love BCBS of MA, but their pre-approval stuff makes me nervous especially because everything with infertility is timed

Any advice?

to the IVF club!
