What's next: Ultrasound next Thursday to check position and growth (this is routine for my OB, there's no indication anything is unusual for me).
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Sciatica, sometimes it's so bad I can barely stand or walk. Still sick almost every morning, but it's passing more quickly these days. Overall I'm feeling good. It's supposed to be hot here the next couple days, I'm not looking forward to that as I seem to swell pretty good in the heat which just makes me uncomfortable.
GTKY: What is your dream vacation? No price limit. Who gets to come??? Fiji to one of those huts that's built in/over the ocean. I would like to read, swim and eat yummy fruit for 2 weeks. DH gets to come
Status Update: Weeks + Days or age PP 5 weeks and 3 days old (35+3 adjusted)
What's next: Appointments, milestones, etc. baby girl has finally kicked her need for breathing assistance! It took 5 attempts but she's been off cpap for 6 days
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: breastfeeding is hard but they tell me she is doing well for a preemie Rant: I'm mentally a mess. DH and I are just breaking down emotionally. They tell us all the things she is doing are expected of a preemie and that she's really doing well, but watching her just forget to breath is really hard.
aw pic: she doesn't even look like the same baby, she's so much chunkier! (Just shy of 4 lbs!)
GTKY: What is your dream vacation? No price limit. Who gets to come???
Jamaica. One of those all inclusives. Just want to sit on the beach with fruit and drinks. Used to think about going to Sandals but now it will be Beaches resort so LO can come DH and I agreed to go for our 10 year anniversary so only a few more years!
What's next? Growth scan and doctor's appointment tomorrow.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: His nursery is 99% complete and we should have the pack n' play today so all we are waiting for is the baby. Symptom wise I have totally hit the super uncomfortable point. He is pinching a nerve on my outer thigh and it is causing an increasing amount of pain. My husband is having a heart attack every time I yelp or scream in pain but I can't seem to stop it. Come on baby boy, roll to the left, haha
GTKY: Right now the idea of being on a secluded beach with my husband and our little guy sounds divine. Somewhere quiet with great snorkelling so maybe one of the Turks and Caicos islands or Sint Eustatius
@MamaBish Hugs lady! She looks so good, it's great to hear (and see) she's putting on weight and not needing breathing assistance anymore. You're doing a great job mama
@MamaBish Savannah looks great! Such a cutie!i hope things get better with breastfeeding. You and hubs are doing great!!! Also, we went to Jamaica for our honeymoon and it was thebomb.com. One day we spent at beaches and agreed to bring our kids there because it was so kid friendly and fun
Status Update: 35w2d
What's next: OB weekly appt on wed and growth scan. A little nervous for the growth scan. My OB said that its routine but that babes is a little on the big side. Kinda worried!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: nursery is done! Baby clothes are washed! Hospital bag is almost done. Still have to put together the pack n play (putting it off) and set up the second car seat.
Feeling overheated, achy and just tired. I blame the weather/burn out from work/ and being almost 9 months pregnant. Also my carpel tunnel is pretty bad and the cankles as usual, out of control!!!
GTKY: Bora bora! My husband and I chickened out on doing this or Phuket. I've never been to asia or the Polynesian triangle but I would loooove to go!
What's next: Appointments, milestones, etc. Messed up my schedule this week so I don't have an appointment until Friday, whoops! I've been going every Monday and somehow got my dates mixed up, but oh well. At my appointment last week my OB let me sneak a peak at baby boy on her US machine and he's gotten so chubby! I cannot wait to meet him.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: The heat is killing me, but at least I don't have to go outside often if I don't want to. Really, really sore and uncomfortable now...sleeping just hurts. Only a couple weeks left, I can make it. My husband was super bummed that he didn't get a baby on his birthday this past Saturday, lol, he is so ready for LO to get here! On the scary but exciting note, we've decided that I'm not going back to teach in the fall and instead will be starting my own business from home! People have been telling me for the last few years that I should do it and I'm still not sure how good of an idea this is, but I guess we're taking the leap! I'm just glad I get to be home with my son more, I was really sad about the idea of going back to school and not having him with me.
GTKY: What is your dream vacation? No price limit. Who gets to come??? I'm all about these all-inclusive tropical vacations! My DH would probably never be willing to pay for one, so that's what I'd pick if money was no object! He's more of a hiking/historical places type person, so if we're going to pay for a trip, it's usually a place like that (which is fun too!) But I sure do love a frozen drink on the beach...mmmmm

Rants/Raves/Symptoms:Just freakin' hot! Heat index here is like 108 today. Baby has dropped so feeling very heavy, especially when I first get up from sitting for a period of time.
GTKY: What is your dream vacation? No price limit. Who gets to come??? This is really hard! There are so many wonderful places I'd love to see! So i'll throw out there a 1 year trip around the world with our whole family (immediate family )
Appt on Wednesday, my practice doesn't do cervical checks unless you request them so just a regular doppler and check in.
My husband is so excited, it makes me love him even more. We just had our wedding anniversary (4 years!) on Friday and it was wonderful. My rant is my symptoms. Ow ow ow ow.
Vacation? I'd love to lie in a hammock on a secluded beach with a stack of books, a cold drink, and my husband.
@stellaluna14 My husband through this pregnancy has been my biggest rave, I'm with you on the loving him more. He keeps telling me how bad he wants to meet our son and I keep melting into a pile of goo, haha
Status Update: 35w1d (a little trippy to see 4 weeks and days remaining... Someone pass me a brown paper bag)
What is next: home visit with our midwife Friday!!!!! She is dropping off the tub and checking supplies. Holy moly. Anytime after that he is cleared to come.
R/R/S: I can't believe how blessed our little family feels to be so close to meeting this little boy! We have waited years and been through hell and back and this is almost real. It ALMOST makes the rants and symptoms totally bearable HAHAHA. Holy pressure on my pubic bone!!! Insomnia, heartburn and restless legs are suuuuper fun.
GTKY: dream vacation would be a trip around the world with my husband (and maybe our boys when they are older)
@MamaBish that's great she's been off the cpap for that long. She's definitely chubbing up quite a bit. So cute!
- 38w
- routine appt today, not expecting anything exciting. Scheduled (3rd) RCS on the 28th. Only one week to go! Then the other side of worry sets in.
- about the same as everyone; swelling, BH, hip pain from sleeping, punches to my cervix
- @Kellyj103 Bora Bora is probably my number 1, too. But I would vacation to just about anywhere. Australia would be fun, a month or two exploring Europe would be awesome, but I am partial to warmer climates. I would want to go with DH and the kiddos.
A place for us J16 PGAL girls and AL moms who have delivered their rainbows.
Status Update: Weeks + Dats or age PP - 34w6d
What's next: Appointments, milestones, etc. Next appt is Thursday, they will be doing the bstrep testing and possible cervix check. Really wishing they would do an ultrasound I want to see her badly!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Lots and lots of swelling still if not more; in my ankles and feet. Making it uncomfortable to be at work and walk around. I just want to be home with my feet propped up watching Netflix, is that too much to ask for Braxton Hicks are becoming more and more these days. Same as PP hip pain while sleeping just cant get comfy also ear pain that's a new one from maybe laying on that side for too long? Lots of bathroom trips in the middle of the night and during the day. Ugh hemorrhoids, finally got one!
Feeling her and seeing her move more is probably my biggest rave along with DH being so excited for her to arrive.
GTKY: What is your dream vacation? No price limit. Who gets to come??? The Maldives and Bora Bora! DH of course!

What's next: Had my weekly check up Monday. Baby is definitely making its way down! I can eat like a pig again and pee every two hours! I can feel baby EVERYWHERE! Doctor estimated baby will probably hit 8lbs. I'm just stunned by this as I'm average size myself, and really haven't put on a ton of weight. I've also heard they're seldom right....
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I am definitely ready to get back to my normal sleeping positions. And this crazy heat has already gotten old. But overall still can't complain!
GTKY: What is your dream vacation? I sure would love to see Australia or New Zealand! Price has been what's stopped us this far, lol. I'm super excited to travel with baby!! My husband and I love traveling and definitely plan to continue with baby!
@MamaBish I agree with @TiffRox81 Waow Savannah has changed so much already! So glad things are continuing to make good progress!
Status Update: 13days old (38w4d)
What's next: No appointments this week... After overdoing it a bit last week I'm spending most of this week indoors taking care of the LO.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I will rant against my right breast who decided to have a clogged duct this week and hasn't been producing enough milk. But in its defense it's less painful and more productive today, so good job bouncing back right boob. I guess that also covers the symptoms part! I will rave about my older sister who will take the time to come all the way from Europe to visit me this summer - my other siblings probably won't so I really appreciate the effort given that she also has a family etc. And of course I can continue to rave about mu husband and LO who are managing to make sleep deprivation a tolerable (sometimes magical!) experience.
GTKY: Mmm tough one... My husband wants to go to the Amalfi Coast... I'd like to see Iceland... But with no price limit I feel like that might be the time to check out the Galapagos Islands
Hi Ladies! Just a small update. I just got back from my 35week check up it was pretty eventful. Was only expecting to have blood work and the strep b testing done today. Instead I got some news I didn't expect. Baby's measurement was off by 2cm today so they did an ultrasound. Found out baby weighs about 6lbs 11oz already and is breech. If she doesn't move on her own I will have to have a planned C-section at 39 weeks. But that wasn't all her fluid is a tad bit high (edited to add diagnosis; Polyhydramnios) and I am now considered High Risk and will be having the non stress tests done at each appt moving the C-section up to 38 weeks. The main thing though is the doctor said baby was healthy and not in any harm which gave me a huge sigh of relief. I may be meeting my baby girl in 3weeks!!
Edited to also add - Why did I decide to google Polyhydramnios?? Dang it! Need to tell myself baby is fine and healthy!

@Lynna813 did they tell you your AFI? (Fluid measurement? And jump on spinningbabies.com. There are tons of helpful exercises to encourage baby to turn cephalic!! No stressing
@chels0120 she actually mentioned I was just borderline at 24 at first and then came back right as we were checking out and said it was higher in one of the pockets and the doctor reviewed the ultrasounds more in depth and is now classifying me as high risk. She didn't mention the new number though. I will make sure to find out next week. I am going to check out that website! Thank you!

@Lynna813 no problem! I'm an ultrasound tech so I was curious what they classified as poly for you. There are lots of reasons for it a many of them are NO BIG DEAL so don't let it scare you
Thank you @chels0120 I am actually curious to know now. I will call them tomorrow and let you know. I was somewhat fine until I logged on to my patient portal saw that word and googled it. I seriously don't know why I did that. Should have known better. Here are the notes that were on my patient portal from today.

Had appt tuesday with the nurse and will go weekly here on out. She said my cervix is soft and u/s showed baby head down. Abdominal measurement is a week ahead. Doctor was on vacation so excited to see her at my 36+3 appt next Thursday where I will finally be full term! Hoping for some dilation because I really don't want to go to 41w like I did with my DD.
Moved the desk to the basement to make room for the baby swing and I am not sure I can do it yet. I am still so scared something is going to happen to her. I am so so done with basically holding my breath for 9 months and being afraid day in and day out.
mrsmommya I know exactly how you feel. Our highchair arrived yesterday. My MIL purchased it for us. My husband was so excited and wanted to put it together. I told him to please wait as my eyes filled up with tears. I wanted to put it together but I just couldn't do it. I know its not healthy to be stressed or worried something can go wrong. I asked my husband to please keep the box for the crib after he put it together. After a few weeks of the giant box being in the garage I was ready to throw it out and I felt at peace about it. Little steps. I have however kept boxes for other stuff and receipts and have also left certain things packaged. I wish that wasn't our mindset It truly does stink! I told myself if we get another chance to have another baby after this one I will enjoy it to the fullest without fear.
@bostonbaby1 thank you for that! It does make me feel a lot better knowing that. I am looking forward to each appt now more than before and will be monitoring her movement even more than I do now.

@Lynna813@mrsmommya I am so over the constant fear. I have regular growth scans and every time I'm walking through the door at the ultrasound clinic I'm holding my breath. We are so close to the end, our little guys are doing great, we can do this!
Lynna813- my guy also is measuring in the chunky monkey club, he was over 7lbs at the 36w scan and this week at 38w he's 9.5lbs. Upside to the big babies (I hear) is they eat more and can sleep longer so that's more time we can be icing our parts after labour
@Weville my baby is on the chunky side too! He is measuring 7lbs at my 35 week scan. I got my growth scan report but my doctor hasn't said anything to me. I see her on Tuesday and I'm trying not to trying not to worry. Hearing that big babes sleep longer and eat more is very reassuring!
@Kellyj103 I just keep repeating I can do this and buying more ice packs. I am mildly terrified he will be late and 11 lbs but it is really great knowing he's healthy. Guess this is what I get for marrying a tall man (and I was over 9lbs at birth)
I emailed chels0120 directly with this information. I will share with you guys too because I am in a much more happier place today after calling the nurses line this morning. Yesterday I was in panic mode. I vow to stay off Google from here on out!
The nurses line talked with the lady that the ultrasound yesterday she said
fluids were actually at 23 (over 25 is considered high) and there was a pocket that was 9
(over 8 is considered to be high).
The nurse practitioner told us the number was 24 yesterday. Weather its 23 or 24 its still below 25 so I will take it. But then came
back to us and mentioned a pocket being high but never gave us the number. They
have to be cautious because it is borderline. I am thankful for the steps they are taking and the extra tests. Just ready for her to be here.
WevilleKellyj103 we are so incredibly close only a few more weeks!!! Our little chunksters are going to be absolutely perfect!

Guys, I've gotten really bad about just reading everyone's and not putting my own anymore. Even though it was decided forever ago to move my due date up a week (making him due on the 3rd) my OB has randomly decided he is going back to using the initial date (the 10th). So that's annoying. He is still consistant measuring between the 84th and 97th percentile. Tuesday's appointment will be interesting, as I am a little lost and annoyed with some stuff (like the fact that induction has been decided on for the 1st for awhile and now he said *maybe* the 5th). I really just wanted to add that I was dx'd with polyhydramnios as well (I had been dx'd with it when I was pregnant with the twins, before we lost them), but not until around 35 weeks...and not much has been said other than "that's going to make quite the splash when your water breaks!" Lol And when I mentioned that it felt like I could feel him moving more, she said bigger babies often have more fluid and like to take full advantage of moving as much as possible in the fluid, especially when room is getting sparse. I hadn't heard of anyone else having it (unless I've just missed it).
@joberkiser My doctor said that active babies tend to stay active when I asked (because mine is one hyper little guy in there). He's also on the big side and I have highish fluid levels (but not polyhydraminos)

I wish that wasn't our mindset
It truly does stink! I told myself if we get another chance to have another baby after this one I will enjoy it to the fullest without fear.
@bostonbaby1 thank you for that! It does make me feel a lot better knowing that. I am looking forward to each appt now more than before and will be monitoring her movement even more than I do now.

July16 JULY siggy challenge
Lynna813- my guy also is measuring in the chunky monkey club, he was over 7lbs at the 36w scan and this week at 38w he's 9.5lbs. Upside to the big babies (I hear) is they eat more and can sleep longer so that's more time we can be icing our parts after labour

I emailed chels0120 directly with this information. I will share with you guys too because I am in a much more happier place today after calling the nurses line this morning. Yesterday I was in panic mode. I vow to stay off Google from here on out!
The nurses line talked with the lady that the ultrasound yesterday she said fluids were actually at 23 (over 25 is considered high) and there was a pocket that was 9 (over 8 is considered to be high).
The nurse practitioner told us the number was 24 yesterday. Weather its 23 or 24 its still below 25 so I will take it. But then came back to us and mentioned a pocket being high but never gave us the number. They have to be cautious because it is borderline. I am thankful for the steps they are taking and the extra tests. Just ready for her to be here.
WevilleKellyj103 we are so incredibly close only a few more weeks!!! Our little chunksters are going to be absolutely perfect!
