Hooray - My DS turned 3 today. We had a good birthday weekend with him, and I love how much he's growing and learning every day.
Boo - Came home from church this morning, and our AC was out. The heat has let up some here, but it'll be in the 90s every day this week. The good part of it is our AC guy came out today and looked at it. He's hoping to order the parts and get it fixed sometime tomorrow. Great customer service to do that on Father's Day.
90s you lucky duck it's 106 here in SoCal. Make it stop!!!!!
OK I'll play bc something incredible happened to me today!!!
I was on my way to the gym. I literally just parked the car. I'll concur the stairmaster- I thought or at least ride it for 10-20minutes until the radio station comes on the air and announces that they would be giving out $25 gift cards to the first 25 customers who said a secret phrase at babies r us. (One specific location here in SoCal)
So I reverse-swerved like the fast and furious and managed to burst into the store mouthing "I know the power of hugs" to the first radio attendant I made eye contact with at the booth.
As she's giving me the gift card she asks. "Did you fill out the ballet to win free diapers for the year?" Keeping my untensely excited eye contact with her while casually grabbing a nearby pen from another customer I reply "Why no, not yet..but when will you be announcing the winner?"
Crossed browed she tells me that they will be announcing the winner in an hour an 50min. So I rush back to the gym, kill it on the stairmaster for a measly 10 minutes and make my way back to what's going to become my second home ..babies r us.
Since I arrived 7 minutes earlier then the scheduled draw I tried to casually browse the stroller section until.. yes.. there it was.. a STOKKE CRUSI IN BLACK!!
My heart melted. This is the stroller I have been dreaming about since we became pregnant. You could quiz me on the design, features and just about anything and my relentless YouTube studies and knowledge would surprise you.
But wait.. they don't sell the STOKKE CRUSI in store.. so what gives?
I ask the attendant and he says that someone bought it online and returned it in store. Every week that I sits it gets marked down. And then the magic happebed.. he pointed to the orange tag.
IT WAS 60.04% OFF!! I tried to keep my cool but I think the attendant couldn't help but feel my utter excitement. He started to giggled. I probably made some sort of noise resembling a squeal.
Owning this stroller was becoming a serious reality but it had to go down a little bit more.
I asked them what was the best they could do and since this stroller sat for months on end literally collecting dust as it had no box and was a display model the supervisor said the best she could do was another 30%
I nearly died right there. Ladies!! This was 72% off the original ticket price.
Granted it was used, and dirty, with no box and no warranty. But this was the STOKKE.
I wheeled that baby right over to the cash register while winking at the radio station attendant that called another named winner.
I didn't care..bc today.. while I strolled that baby to my car ..I was one step closer to making this pregnancy feel more real..I was the winner.
.. That was until I had to load it into the car. "ummm..does anyone know how this thing folds?"
Hooray - I was feeling bad about DH'S Father's Day today, but apparently it turned out pretty well! I did buy him an awesome present, box seats to a Pirates game in July, but since they were pretty pricey I didn't get him anything else and then we spent the whole day at our new house getting stuff set up. Poor guy set up baby gates, one of which it turned out we can't even use because it would've required us to bolt it into the wall even though the box said it was a pressure gate, hung drapes, and put together a rolling counter/cabinet, all in no AC without my help because,in his opinion, me being pregnant = incapable of doing this kind of work. So basically not in any way relaxing at all, which is exactly what he should've been doing. Meanwhile we're seeing Instagram and Facebook posts from family and friends who are taking their dads/husbands to the US Open, sailing, barbecues, etc,all of which DH would've loved to do. So by the end of the day, I was feeling pretty horrible about the whole thing. Well, finally we finished up at the house so I took him to one of his favorite restaurants, which we hadn't gone to in forever, and of course there's a 40 minute wait and when we finally get to our table, they're showing the US Open on the TV nearby. And then DH looked at me and said, "I might not be at the US Open today like ____or sailing like ______ but I got to spend the whole day with you and DD and now we're eating dinner here. This has been the best day!" Ugh. He's perfect.
Hooray - My morning sickness seems to have mostly vanished. I still get nauseous at night but we went hiking today. Hiking! A week ago, I was barely able to roll off the couch to go check the mail. Serious improvement. And we've been listening to LO's heartbeat each night on the doppler and it's starting to get really easy to find it and the placenta. I love that loud whooshing sound of the baby's blood pumping into the placenta
Boo - Mentioned it in the weekend randoms thread, but some gigantic screwup showed up on my credit report over the weekend claiming I owe like 7 thousand dollars of back taxes in a state I haven't even lived in for 4 years. I'm positive I don't really owe 7 grand, but I'm probably going to have to get a lawyer involved and have to prove my residency in other states for those 4 years to get it resolved and removed from my credit report and I'm really, really stressed out over it (I was the victim of a very serious identity theft case about 7 years ago so it's like reopening the wound having to deal with this).
Hooray - We were nervous, but we got great reactions to our pregnancy announcement among family, which was good because...
Boo - NBA Finals game 7 just had to be on Father's Day and the Warriors decided not to show up. We just kept staring at the TV in shock after the game until someone said, just turn it off. My aunt goes, "at least we got some good news today."

Boo - it was a last minute decision, so felt bad about the state of my unshaved legs. At least it wasn't the middle of winter :-p
