Breast Pump Options

So...this is a list of my pump options that are available through my insurance. I am leaning toward the Medela but I was just wondering what you ladies think.

2.      Medela Pump in Style Advanced Starter Set -https://www.medelabreastfeedingus.com/products/698/pump-in-style-advanced-breastpump-starter-set

3.      Spectra S2 –https://www.spectrababyusa.com/#!products/cjg9

4.      Ameda Purely Yours Ultra -https://www.ameda.com/breast-pumps/single-user-breast-pumps/purely-yours/purely-yours-ultra

The PIS and he Spectra S2 are typically the most popular.  I think you could find wealth of knowledge using the search function.

ETA:  I went with PIS because all my friends used it (and maybe they will pass along some accessories) and the accessories seem to be more widely available stateside than the Spectra parts/accessories.

Medela and Ameda seem to be the top two pumps that mom's go for nowadays. I had an Ameda Purely Yours for DS and am getting the same one for LO. I used it until he was 13 months and it worked great, no complaints here! There are tons of pump reviews on youtube from other moms, I found this one helpful when deciding between the Medela and Ameda this time around:

I figured since I already had an Ameda, it would be good for me to have another as a backup.

I would respectfully disagree with @Ceventa, actually. I have an Ameda Purely Yours and found it to be frustratingly wimpy. I'm a SAHM so I liked the idea of spending $100 less on something I didn't need to use as often as a working mom, but if I could go back I would get a Medela. This time around I'm just hoping my Ameda hangs on for the occasional pump I'll be doing -- don't wan't to buy a whole new pump since this will probably be our last baby.

I went with the Medela based on research I did before hand and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I got the advance but I believe the only difference is the bag and accessories.

My Bradley birthing coach has 5 kids of her own and she recommends the Medela. Plus, check to see what kind your hospital uses. My friend had a baby 3 days ago and she told me that the hospital is sending her home with all the tubes/bottles/ flanges from the hospital Medela because they can't be used on another patient. So she's able to now use those on hers at home.

A majority of the recommendations I always saw were for Medela, so that's what I went with because it was one of the 3 options my insurance company offered. I used it for 10 months and never had any issues with it, so it worked out well for me.

The Ameda is known for weak suction and power. The standard is the Medela PISA. It works great and is easy to use.

Does anyone have experience with the Spectra S2?  I just found out I can get this civered at 100% as one of the options through my insurance (the others are Medela PISA and Ameda Purely Yours Ultra).  With DD, I opted for the Medela PISA and really liked it, but now I'm excited to think I could add a hospital grade pump to my little arsenal :)

I had a PISA for my last baby... I had the option of the Spectra 2 as well... and I ended up upgrading to the S1. I will have it next week. I'm excited about it... it has great reviews online!  I found bottle adapters and flange adapters on amazon so I can reuse all the medela flanges and bottles.
