This is my first high risk pregnancy. I was diagnosed with DVT (blood clot) at 39 weeks of my last pregnancy, so now I'm seeing a high risk OB and they have me on injection blood thinners. One injection a day, which is better than the 2 a day last time around, but I still hate needles, it hurts, I already have bruises, and it just sucks.
Anyone else on a high risk journey? How are you doing and feeling about everything?
Re: High Risk Moms
sorry you have to have the injections daily! That's a bummer. How long will you need to remain on blood thinners (in general)?
We did ivf to get pregnant- soooo many shots and lumpy bruises! Sorry you have to deal with that while pregnant, definitely not fun!
I was was able to carry my daughter to term with no complications last time so I'm not too worried this time around.

Unfortunately I'm stuck with Lovenox daily until I reach 39 weeks, and then 6 weeks after delivery. Last time, my OB allowed me to switch to coumadin a week after delivery to allow me to breastfeed, so hopefully I'll be able to nurse this little one also.
Good luck to all you ladies! Praying for healthy, uneventful pregnancies for all of us.

Im high risk due to health problems. The biggest ones being a form of Tachycardia where my heart rate skyrockets and my blood pressure drops severely, which can be dangerous. I also had a stroke a little over a year ago just before my 24th birthday. I had to take those lovenox injections when I was in the hospital recovering from that. I hated the big bruises they left. Hope they heal quickly for you. I'm also considered high risk because my last pregnancy was a MC at 6w6d.
Again, hopefully we will all have happy healthy pregnancies and if you guys don't mind I will pray for all of you as well.
Sending prayers to you all!
