How are you feeling? Physically and mentally? Pregnant me has started to feel like the "norm" so to speak. Starting to feel extra big in the tummy area. I feel like I'm finally at the point where I recognize this is really happening. I'll admit it's been a bit hard being in a culture where pregnancy is not celebrated at all, and in some areas children aren't named until their 1st birthday(or in more remote areas 5th!). Maternal and infant mortality is so high here that things are treated very cautiously, sometimes even after the baby arrives. So in a lot of ways I feel like we're still "hiding" the pregnancy, which makes me feel guilty, but just trying to find a balance I guess.
Next at appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Next apt isn't til 5 July so a long ways to go. Technically viability is next weeks!?
Rants/Raves/Questions? I posted this already but I still cant believe I made hummus and forgot to put chickpeas in. Talk about pregnancy brain!
GTKY: What do you imagine your little one looking like? Any characteristics you hope they get from you? Dh? I really hope little one doesn't get DH's nose... he has a huge nose... I know that is super vain and I will love them anyway but I can hope right? I'm super curious about little ones skin tone. It's well known that even full children start out wayyyyy lighter than there "true" shade so to speak so I expect little one will be born looking like a completely white baby, except that there is like a 99% chance he/she will have DH's hair and brown eyes. I would rather them be darker so to speak because I would like them to stand out less here but we'll see I guess!

So so? Feeling decent physically but still kind of meh. Mentally I'm starting to get anxious.

Part two of anatomy scan today! And I'm starting to feel him move more consistently.

I painted the nursery pretty quick, but got frustrated by a couple things and hubby is dragging his feet about finishing them! Grrrr! I want it done so I can start setting and get the crib ordered!
GTKY: What do you imagine your little one looking like? Any characteristics you hope they get from you? Dh?
kmolleltz My poor baby is screwed when it comes to his nose. Both hubby and I have these big ole Mexican noses. Lol. I'm also curious about his coloring. My husband and I are both half Mexican/half Scottish and we're both pretty fair. My husband can get VERY dark in the summer, but in the winter we both look white. But his son, who is only a quarter Mexican, is really dark all year round! So he could be really dark....or he could have blonde hair and blue eyes like our mothers.
How are you feeling? Physically and mentally? Still get tired easily, but definitely not exhausted like I was earlier in the pregnancy. Mentally, I am a bit nervous for the actual birth as I am determined to go med free. I have relaxed a very little bit in the pregnancy, but PGAL brain can still be very overwhelming. I'm hoping the anatomy scan will provide at least a good solid week of happiness.
Next at appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Anatomy scan this Friday!! Super excited to see Peanut. I'm also looking forward to my husband being able to feel movements, and also 24 week viability.
Rants/Raves/Questions? My boobs and nipples have become very sore again, and are also itchy. Also, I really miss my normal sex life with DH...he's currently experiencing a mental block because the baby is right there, and it's weird for him.
GTKY: What do you imagine your little one looking like? Any characteristics you hope they get from you? Dh? I honestly can't wait to see as I have no idea. I am white with brown super curly hair and blue eyes. My husband is brown with straight black hair and hazel eyes. I'm guessing the skin color will be a mix, but I am most curious to see the eye color and texture of his hair.
How are you feeling? Physically and mentally? Still so tired! I had the second half of my anatomy scan done yesterday because they couldn't see the heart at the last u/s. Definitely hungry all the time. I've gained 15 pounds so far and I am constantly starving. My OB said its just a phase but I wasn't small to begin with so I'm concerned.
Next at appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Appointment in 3 weeks. I'm looking forward to the boys being able to feel the baby's kicks.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I definitely feel like I can do less than I could pre-pregnancy and that's rough sometimes.
GTKY: What do you imagine your little one looking like? Any characteristics you hope they get from you? Dh? I cant wait to see! My husband has blonde hair and blue eyes and both my boys ended up with white blonde hair and blue eyes (I have brown hair and green eyes). It'll be interesting to see. They all have my husbands coloring but my features.
How are you feeling? Physically and mentally? I'm actually feeling great physically, other than learning to adjust to the growing belly. I'm trying to enjoy this for as long as possible. Mentally, I'm just weepy about everything/full of rage at my husband's friend.
Next at appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? I'm just looking forward to third trimester. I can't believe how fast this is going!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Not much, other than I need to get my shit together because again, this pregnancy is going fast! Not to mention we need to hire my maternity leave replacement at work, which I'm dreading and just keep putting off.
GTKY: What do you imagine your little one looking like? Any characteristics you hope they get from you? Dh? I also have no idea what this baby will look like! I'm white with dark blond curly hair and 5'4" tall. My husband is black with the most beautiful curly hair and is 6'4". Basically, if this baby is born with straight hair neither of us will have any idea what to do with it.
How are you feeling? Physically and mentally? i'm feeling well overall, but starting to get the pregnancy aches and pains (sciatica, hips, muscle/leg cramps).
Next at appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? 22 June with perinatologist and 30 weeks!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Had an appt yesterday, everything looks great and I have the go ahead to start exercising again, so i'm excited about that
also, anyone else experiencing pre-milk leaking?
GTKY: What do you imagine your little one looking like? Any characteristics you hope they get from you? Dh? @kmolleltz and @krzyriver too funny that you ladies brought up the nose thing, as my husband's family has a running joke about the "(family name) nose". it's kinda become a joke with my husband and i at each scan. I'm hoping this little girl looks like me because my son looks like my sister. Also, I would love if she had blue/light eyes and my blonde hair.
i am EXHAUSTED. otherwise I'm good lol.
we see her again next Wednesday. (perks of being high risk is biweekly appointments!) also going to my friends ultrasound studio week 28 for a 4d!
i am really excited for my long cervix. bake baby bake! stay in there! lol
i hope she's blonde and her anatomy scan showed she def has my nose!!!!
How are you feeling? Physically and mentally? Not bad overall, physically just having some back and ankle pain and adjusting to this growing belly. Mentally, I have my days. Most days I feel good and I'm enjoying this, but there are those breakdown moments where I feel like theres not enough time and I'm just not ready.
Next at appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Next appointment isnt until July 8th, so just looking forward to that and viability!

GTKY: What do you imagine your little one looking like? Any characteristics you hope they get from you? Dh? I just cant wait to see what he looks like. I keep saying I hope he looks like DH because I think he is just so handsome. I hope he gets his blue eyes and tan complexion. My hair is naturally strawberry blonde, so I'm curious if his hair will have that red tint or be dark like DH.
How are you feeling? Physically and mentally? Starting to get aches and pains. Mostly in my lower back/hips.
Next at appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Repeat scan next Tuesday to check on little guy's kidneys, then 24 weeks/viability, then 3rd Tri.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I can't wait for DH to feel him kick. I'm feeling him move consistently and the movement is starting to move up and not just in my lower adbdomen. I have an anterior placenta so I'm hoping the higher up movement will be strong enough to feel from the outside soon.
GTKY: What do you imagine your little one looking like? Any characteristics you hope they get from you? Dh? My husband also has a very large nose. In one US picture, it looks like his nose is pretty big and we were joking that we'll have to get a 3-D scan later on so we can prepare for whose noes he has. lol... in all seriousness though, I really hope LO has H's long eyelashes and dimples.

How are you feeling? Physically and mentally? Physically, I have tons of swelling, mostly in my feet. I still have no energy and would love to just sleep constantly. Mentally, I have been having good and bad days. I had to un-follow a PGAL group on facebook, because my newsfeed had stories of losses too often. These were rainbow losses too. It kept me paranoid and miserable. I had to say goodbye to that group. We bought our son some of his first clothes this past weekend while in Chicago visiting my corporate. We bought 0-3 months, fall/winter wardrobe. Then thought, what if he comes early? Should we pick up some smaller stuff? We didn't and just left. The cashier at Carter's told me she had 4 babies with her cerclages and her births ranged from earliest 27.5 weeks and the longest was 30 weeks. Said the cerclages were tearing her cervix. I felt the color drain from my skin, thinking "What if that happens to me?"
Next at appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? I have an U/S, and cervical length check tomorrow morning.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I am already so uncomfortable when trying to sleep. My whole body aches. Rolling over and switching positions sucks! I love feeling his movements. When I do not feel him move a lot or with the same intensity, I immediately start to panic.
GTKY: What do you imagine your little one looking like? Any characteristics you hope they get from you? Dh? My DH had gorgeous blonde hair until he was about 13. His kids/my step kids have that same hair color. I am hoping the same for Wyatt. I hope he has my nose and eyes. I have thousands of freckles that I have always hated, so I am hoping that he will be freckle free like his dad.
How are you feeling? Physically and mentally? I've been feeling pretty good physically. A few aches and pains here and there, but otherwise, have some energy, an appetite and still able to move around - for the most part. I did freak out a bit mentally when I saw the countdown changed to 18 weeks left...for some reason that totally freaked me out! I'm not ready! How is the summer already flying by?
Next at appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Growth scan at 26 weeks...hoping baby's growth is on target and my low-lying placenta is on the rise!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Have you guys heard that our feet may grow? And then stay that size? I had never heard this one before...but I hope mine just stick to swelling. I love my shoes!
GTKY: What do you imagine your little one looking like? Any characteristics you hope they get from you? Dh? My husband is very athletic (I am not!), so I hope that some of that natural ability gets passed along... If it's a girl, I certainly hope she does NOT get my hips and thighs. Fingers crossed for Daddy's chicken legs...

How are you feeling? Physically and mentally? I'm really good mentally. Very tired physically, starting to have trouble moving around with this bump in the way!

Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm so happy to be at 24 weeks already although I've heard others saying high risk viability isn't til later. And excited for furniture getting delivered soon and to start decorating the nursery!
GTKY: What do you imagine your little one looking like? Any characteristics you hope they get from you? Dh? I'm not really sure but I think she will have mostly DH's dominant traits. Thinking of that gave me a flashback of my torturous time before my D&C followup appt in the waiting room in the midst of pregnant moms talking about their ultrasounds and babies having the father's feet, etc. Now that I'm on the other side of that its my goal to really try to remember to be sensitive in the waiting room if I'm ever tempted to get into those conversations within earshot of someone who's not definitely pregnant
How are you feeling? Physically and mentally? I had a "growth spurt" yesterday which left me feeling full-to-bursting all night. My tummy is tight and hot now. This has happened a couple of times and my body seems to adjust over a couple of days, then get a little respite before it happens again. At least baby is growing, right?
Next at appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? My next appointment is unexciting. I am both looking forward to 24 weeks but also feeling it's not really a "magic" number, either. I'll be happy to reach 3rd trimester - that's the next time I'll take and post pictures of myself. Also, looking forward to my shower, although my mom is stressing about it a little bit and my father's sisters are the ones throwing it and making all the decisions, so I'm just hoping I get a high turnout and it doesn't end up being a sad showing with way too much food.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Why do I have to keep doing my job and whatnot? Why can't I focus my entire life on BABY BABY BABY because that's what my brain wants to focus on.
GTKY: What do you imagine your little one looking like? Any characteristics you hope they get from you? Dh? We are both tall with pale skin and dark hair and eyes, so that's likely. We do, however, both have blonde hair and blue eyes in our families, so either one could crop up. I think my mom really wants the baby to have blue eyes like my dad because she always hoped one of hers would have blue eyes like their father and none of us do. I really hope the baby gets my husband's hair, because it is luscious (he got it from his mum, and boy does she have thick beautiful long hair!) Mine is pathetic. Also, from his dad's side, really great cheekbones. And because we're having a little girl, I hope she gets my nose and lips, which are very feminine--although my husband is pretty enough if a girl gets his features, she'll still be a knockout!
I just really hope that we can see both of us in the baby pretty clearly. I would be disappointed if it didn't look at all like me - or at all like my husband!
How are you feeling? Physically and mentally? I am exhausted on both fronts, I worked long hours last week and cannot seem to catch up on sleep. Mentally I am just not wanting to get motivated for anything.
Next at appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? They didn't get all the pictures they wanted for the first AS so I go back on the 22nd, looking forward to seeing this baby grow.
Rants/Raves/Questions? The swollen feet at this stage seems crazy to me. Also why don't people understand being pregnant means more sleep.
GTKY: What do you imagine your little one looking like? Any characteristics you hope they get from you? Dh? My husband is have native American and half white so he tans really good, has dark brown hair and brown eyes. I have lighter brown hair and bright blue eyes, and pasty pasty white. I am hoping baby has olive skin like DH other kids and blue eyes.
I am pretty quiet about it at work and really try to remember how I felt. There is currently a woman at work who is actively trying with no luck yet, which makes me even more sensitive about discussing it around her. She talks to me about her situation occasionally, but is a very private person.
My boss recently announced that she is pregnant, and is very loud about it. She's constantly very loudly talking about her symptoms, she brought in a cake for the group from her baby to announce her pregnancy, etc. My boss is PGAL herself, so I completely understand the excitement, but I also feel so protective over the woman who is currently trying. I don't want to say anything to my boss about it because I totally get the excitement. I'm just hoping that she tones it down because the woman has rolled her eyes at me a few times when my boss is going on and on about it, so I know it bothers her.
How are you feeling? Physically and mentally? I'm feeling pretty good physically. Pains here and there, but overall good. PGAL brain keeps creeping in lately for some reason.
Next at appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? My next US in 2 weeks! I can't wait to see him again. He's started moving and kicking so that relieves some of my nerves, but I can't wait until it's more consistent.

My husband is a sturdy 6'4 and I'm 5'2 so I'm curious how big and tall our little guy will be. I hope he has his nose, eyelashes, lips and curly hair... I hope he gets my chin (that's an odd one, but DH has like no chin so he always has a go tee or beard to give some shape) and eyes. He's screwed with the eyebrows because we've both got some crazy ones if left untamed.

How are you feeling? Physically and mentally? Physically, I feel good, although I've felt TONS of changes the past few weeks. I had my first experience with BH Contractions during a cardio class last week and that was interesting. Working out (particularly cardio) is becoming more challenging. And the summer on the East Coast has started out in the 90s, so I've been getting dizzy pretty frequently. Mentally, I've been struggling. I've dealt with depression and anxiety my whole life, and was terrified that when I got pregnant it would throw them both into overdrive. Up until the past few weeks, I was feeling great. But lately, I've just been feeling down. It's been rough. I've heard there is a major hormone surge at the end of the second trimester so I guess that could be it. I'd just like to have my productivity back.
Next at appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? My next pre-natal is next week and because she's a stubborn little thing and the US tech couldn't get a measurement at the anatomy scan, I get to see her again, so that's exciting. Next big milestone I'm looking forward to is the third trimester!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Guys, I MISS WINE. It's vineyard visiting season where I live and that is usually the go to activity for me and DH on a day off. It's going to be a long summer.
GTKY: What do you imagine your little one looking like? Any characteristics you hope they get from you? Dh? Well, from the last US, she has super defined features which surprised us. A very pointy little nose and lips - which I think is after me. I would love for her to have DH eyes - his are green/hazel depending on the light. I think I picture her as having brown hair (like both of us) and either brown eyes or green/hazel eyes.

How are you feeling? Physically and mentally? With my growing bump, it's taking me a while to get comfortable in bed. I'm trying to sleep on my side, primarily on my left, but I'm usually a back or stomach sleeper. I build a fort of pillows around me to help prop me up. I think it's time to purchase a snoogle.
Next at appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Routine check-up next Tuesday. I'm starting to feel the baby kick! Looking forward to when hub can feel it from the outside.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I wake up about every 2 hours at night to pee. I guess it's training me for when the baby wakes up to feed?
