hey ladies! I have severe pubic dysfunction or SPD. This is my third pregnancy and I also had it with my second. I didn't get the pains as early as I have this time. It is so severe and getting worse by the day!! I put ice in my "area" every day! Is anyone else suffering from this?? It's awful I'm wondering how I will make it the whole pregnancy like this (especially if it continues getting worse) Im 18 weeks and have a ways to go!
if anyone else has this, have you found anything that helps the pain??

  • I do, but unfortunately only rest has helped. My NP told me not to do anything that hurts, but everything hurts, so I've just been staying in bed as much as I can on days off from work. It sucks!

  • Ya it's awful isn't it!! I have 2 other kids to take care of so staying in bed isn't an option (only sometimes lol)

  • I have no advice but I must say I'm so sorry for your pain!  (I had never even heard of this condition so I googled it and it certainly sounds unpleasant to say the least.)

Thank you! It's terrible. Today is the worst pain I've felt so far. The pain is now not only my "area" but now radiates in my upper thighs and my spine and groin cracks when I walk. It's incredibly painful!!!

  • Got it here! This is my third pregnancy and I had nothing like this with either of my other two. I am looking into a support belt of some sort and I'm going to start going to the chiropractor. I hate how expensive the support belts are, though, for there being no guarantee for it to help. Like, if I'm going to drop 25-50 bucks on something, I want to know it will do something for me.

I haven't looked into the belts yet. I have a dr appt Friday so I'll see what she says. Yesterday I could hardly walk or move, it was awful!!!

Had it really bad with my son and I'm already feeling it with this baby too.

Chiropractic helps me a lot, but I am uncomfortable all f'ing day.

  • I recently got this and have been shuffling around because walking is so painful. Stairs are an absolutely nightmare and my loving hubby had to hoist me in and out of bed....this is awful
