We're expecting boy #2 in September. So far we only have 1 name that we agree on (Nathan), but I'm not 100% sold on it yet, and I'm not terribly fond of the nickname Nate. DS1 is Levi, and if this had been a girl, her name would've been Paige. When I told a friend that we were considering Nathan, she said, "oh, but Levi is so unique, and Nathan is so... NORMAL." I know I shouldn't let her comment bug me, but it does. I just need some fresh perspective and new ideas to get the juices flowing again.
So here's our rules:
- Nothing top 10, or even top 50 if we can help it
- Our last name is a 4 syllable, difficult Nigerian name beginning with O, so...
- We prefer shorter, easy to recognize and pronounce names. Ideally 2 syllables, but that's negotiable.
- Nothing from the -aiden trend (Aiden, Brayden, Graydon, etc)
- Also nothing from the -ton trend (Brighton, Layton, etc)
- Middle name is not negotiable and will be Obinna (say "oh-BEE-nah", which means "the father's heart" in DH's native language)
Ready, go!

We're naming this baby Walter if it's a boy, so I'm partial. And like PP, I like Nathan, too. I've taught a couple of kids named Nathan over the years, but only one went by Nate. I don't think you're stuck with that as a nickname if you don't want to be.
