TTC After a Loss

TGIF 6/10!!

It's Friday! Yay! Anyone with good weekend plans?

I know now we have betas and POAS coming up as well...so exciting!

Re: TGIF 6/10!!

  • Tonight going to play tennis with DH for the first time...I used to play in high school and recreationally but haven't played in awhile. Should be interesting! Tomorrow one of my best friends is in town from Minneapolis- she just moved there for work a few months ago so will be nice to spend time with her.

Sunday there is a clay, metal and glass show so DH and I are going to check it out and see if we find anything neat to put out in the garden.

I wish I was POAS- do OPKs count? ;)
  • Loading the player...
  • Yes @Spartanrd4 they totally count!

I have nothing planned today and tomorrow besides getting a run and bike ride in. I deep cleaned the whole house yesterday so I can relax! I'm going to download Me Before You on my iBooks and sit on my porch and read today. Sunday I work, as per usual I can't get a whole weekend off work  :s

But since my Pens couldn't get it together last night, that means it's another hockey night. Yay!

@Spartanrd4 tennis sounds good. I played in high school too. Have fun!
@Wishilivedinflorida I forgot you're a western PA girl- Sorry about the Pens but one more night of hockey is good!

We're packing this weekend for our vacation. We leave Wednesday, so I won't be around to hear all of the good news about everyone getting BFP. Tuesday is our wedding anniversary but we aren't doing anything. Maybe a mimosa-free brunch on Sunday. Darn you, TWW, DARN YOU!

  • My birthday is coming up this week so my in laws are having a party for me on Saturday so that should be fun. Sunday we have a memorial service to go to and I think I'll have DH take me out to a nice early birthday dinner tonight!

@Spartanrd4 yes, OPKs totally count. Too bad I won't be POAS on either for quite a bit now. The early WTO days suck...just waiting around. Lol

  • Tomorrow I will POAS and I'm ridiculously hopeful because today is either 16 or 17DPO... In terms of non TTC plans...

We're going to go out for lunch one day to celebrate the job (and maybe the BFP), I'll head out to a farmer's market with a friend on Sunday I think (the only friend who finds out in the first trimester - because works with her sister who is my doctor... and therefore there is no keeping it secret), I'll also tidy and start trying to figure out crap to get rid of before we move, and finally DH and I will have a conversation about relationship stuff. That last one needs to happen but I'm not looking forward to it. There is so much going on that I feel overwhelmed but our issues can't be put on the back burner, especially if I get a BFP. There will never be a "good" time to deal with it...

  • @Wishilivedinflorida I'm a Pens fan too!! I live in NY though. Last night was so hard to watch, what were they doing?!? Looking forward to watching the next game though!! Also I just started reading Me Before You because I insisted on reading it before seeing the movie, so far it is so good! I am about halfway thru.

    @JDMRS happy anniversary!!

  • @lilylover27 It was so awful. What kept killing me was one player would hussle for the puck, but there was never anybody to back them up to pass to! I'm bummed they couldn't win it all at home. My friend got gifted tickets to go last night and is heartbroken. Im also reading the book before the movie. I do that a lot, it's how I know what books to read!

@JDMRS Hope your packing goes smoothly, your anniversary is romantic even though you don't have plans, and your TWW is as low-crazy as possible! Where are you vacationing? Will you test on vacation?

@MooFish2364 Happy birthday!!!! Enjoy your dinner.

@catiecatp I'm so flippin excited for you. I hope the logistics of the move and new job won't be too stressful. Did you officially accept the position? You may have said if you did but I can't remember. I hope you and DH can move on past your issue with a good and fair resolution. I've got my everything crossed for a BFP for you!!
  • @Wishilivedinflorida That is still awesome she got to go to a Stanley Cup game! And they still may win at home! Maybe Sunday will force a game 7 you never know!

@Wishilivedinflorida We're going to Cape Cod. My parents have rented the same house for the last 20 years, and we we're able to go for the last 2 years between wedding and bar exam nonsense. I am trying to resist the urge to test. I O late-day 18, so if AF doesn't arrive on 6/18 as scheduled, maybe, just maybe I will test on 6/19. I would love for us to get good news on Father's Day! I'll only be 11 dpo BUT I got my BFP the day before AF was due in February. So....Wait i was trying to be low-BSC...

thanks @lilylover27 2 years of wedded bliss this year. We met in 2006 and finally tied to knot in 2014- we decided our dog needed us to be married. and we were ready for kids.

  • @JDMRS Your trip sounds lovely and relaxing. Fx you have a great Father's Day surprise!
  • @Wishilivedinflorida - I've accepted the position and have a schedule of when I'll be teaching. But I don't get an offer letter until the end of July when the board meets - and that won't be a binding letter. Which means that the logistics of moving got more complicated...

  • @catiecatp Congrats on the new position! I've been following the story throughout the threads and how your thought process about it has progressed. I agree that it's a smart move in the direction of your career that you want to go. It's also great that you've already connected with someone there that you trust and has already become an ally for you. It makes me have a good feeling about the decision too.

    @JDMRS Happy early Anniversary!!

@Spartanrd4 Yep, OPKS count! I'm early in the WTO yet again and wishing there was a POAS substitute, like a patch that you can pee on. (I'm TOTALLY just kidding but I'd LOL so hard if I ever saw that at as a prank gift!)

This weekend I'm in Birmingham to spend time with my husband's family. We're going to shop, barbecue, hit up a few museums, and hopefully also swim some in the nice hotel pool and bar hop. The one bright sight of early WTO is not worrying about a few nights of margaritas and breweries!

  • @dubcompanion sounds like a good weekend! Especially the margaritas and breweries!

This weekend isn't all too eventful, have boot camp class early Saturday morning and then we are supposed to get rain here the rest of the day. Sunday we plan on going off-roading on the beach and relaxing before work Monday. In TWW territory since we were NTNP instead of being benched (woops) so drinks are moderate (I'm in the drink till it's pink camp) this weekend. Plan on testing next week if AF doesn't show!

  • @SnobunnieMel - to call it a negotiation is to not know the definition of negotiation. Nearly everything was a "no" not even a "let me look and get back to you... no" - I was upset about having taught 24+ courses and getting no credit for it because it was all part time but when my new friend said it is partly to ensure pay equity between genders it made me feel better. I think the policy should be different, but given that it is what it is, I am ok-ish with it.

@dubcompanion - I think it will work out well - and if we get there and don't like it we can always come back to Canada in a few years with a beefed up CV.

@Wishilivedinflorida Sorry about your penguins! I hope you get to experience a Stanley Cup! It's so much fun. DH and my ILs were at Game 6 last year (it was a big issue that I didn't get to go) and it would have been the highlight of his year, if not his life, if we hadn't gotten married that year! DH has all the games on, so I will be thinking of you if they win!

@catiecatp Promise you will test early tomorrow. The suspense is killing me!

@Spartanrd4 Have fun with you friend from MN! I lived there for 4 cold years. Brrrr.

AFM I'm working tomorrow. Boo. And then we are playing with the puppy all day Sunday. He's doing pretty well. I'm amazed at how fast he became our dog. Potty training is going well, but he's still having accidents. He whines in his crate when we leave the room and at night, but usually settles down after 10 minutes or so. We live in a condo with thin floors and walls, so I worry he is keeping neighbors up. If anyone has any foolproof whining solutions, I will take them! I think we start puppy training next week!

We will also hit a local festival this weekend. DHs favorite local band is playing. Should be a quiet weekend which is good because the last 2 have been insane, I feel like I'm not having enough time and space to focus on grieving. Today is the 1 month anniversary of our bad ultrasound and then CVS. It feels like 8 years ago and yesterday at the same time.

@chloe97 glad the pup has become part of your family! I worried about our dog annoying the neighbors when he was a puppy with all of the crying in the crate, especially at night. They swore they didn't hear him, but I think they were just being nice.
  • @chloe97 just think of the puppy as training your neighbors for when it's a baby crying instead

  • @MooFish2364 I too hate the early WTO days. I won't be doing OPKs till next week..ugh!
We are dog sitting for my best friend this week so we have to pick up her pup this evening. I want to plant my pumpkin seeds sometime this weekend and maybe go to the pool.
  • Not too much planned for me. We usually go to the local farmers market on Saturday mornings and then we need to take down our bed because we have bought a king size that is supposed to be here in a few days. I have no idea why we need a king size bed,  but DH wanted one so here we are. Hah!

Other than that, just hoping to BD at least one more time since I think I am going to ovulate today or tomorrow.

@chloe97 - well I normally get up to go the bathroom at least once a night and DH has said test whenever so I may be testing at 3MST because I want FMU... At the latest I'll post on the TWW board when I get back up, but I don't usually sleep in too much...

@taggarab - I want a king size bed so bad - when we get down to San Antonio it is one of our first purchases for sure.

Edit to add: I love how excited y'all are for me - it is making me feel really loved
