My LO is 14 weeks and I recently started relactation and i'm starting to get very discouraged. I've done a lot of research and I know it's going to take a little time but it's just so hard! It's only been about 3-4 weeks since I was last able to nurse a decent amount and then my milk started to dry up. I'm taking fenugreek and pumping every two hours.. Do any moms out there have any tips or advice for helping the process a little more? I'm trying to hard to not just give up.
Skin to skin contact with your baby could help promote better supply! Even just hanging out doing skin to skin with your LO has been proven beneficial, it doesn't have to be just while feeding. Also, eating oatmeal and/or lactation cookies. You can buy the cookies or find a recipe to make them yourself.
Also, remember that pumping just can't stimulate milk production or empty your breasts as well as your baby can, which could also be affecting your supply. If you're adamant about pumping, maybe consider trying a hospital grade pump if you're not using one already. You can rent one to see if it makes a difference as opposed to buying one straight out and deciding it's not for you after the fact.
