Infertility

Newbie help please!?

okay, so... My husband and I have been having issues conceiving. We got pregnant (Jan 2015) after going off BC, but it was unfortunately an ectopic pregnancy that forced me into an emergency surgery and to lose my right side "equipment". We tried after surgery, and nothing... Had issues with cysts and had to go on hormones. Cyst wouldn't vacate and had to have it removed... Now I finally got a period after surgery a few weeks ago. I followed one of the fertility trackers. How soon do you take a test? Does your body maybe go back to a normal cycle? I feel so dumb asking this. My doctors nurse gave me the sexual timing talk again, but that doesn't help me understand the what if I don't get a period again part. If anyone has any words of advice I would appreciate it.

I'm sorry for your loss.  If I'm understanding you correctly, you're asking how to figure out when to BD?  I know if you're regular (between 21-35 days each) than your O day is about two weeks before the first day of your next cycle.  If you aren't regular than it's harder to catch.  I used OPKs CD 8-16 while I wasn't regular to try to help pin point when to get busy.  Dollar tree sells them and you can get them even cheaper on Amazon.  Are you talking about a pregnancy test or an OPK?  I've gotten to the point where I don't even keep pregnancy tests any more.  If I'm more than three days late, I'll go buy one but they get $$ if I keep them handy.  A rule of thumb I've seen is don't trust any symptoms before 10 DPO.
Your body can fluctuate in its cycle length.  I didn't have reg cycles before getting on the pill six years ago. Once I got off they took a minute but have gotten to where they're between 26 and 31 days each now so DH and I just get busy for the whole week.  If you're not getting a period then, in my understanding, you're likely not ovulating.  There are meds for both.  I hope that was at least a little helpful.
