Big Boobs Before Pregnancy?

Was anyone else already busty before they got pregnant and now dealing with terrible pain? I'm 6 weeks, 2 days and was already a 36H and my boobs are KILLING ME. It hurts to walk, it hurts to drive on anything but the smoothest of roads, and I have to do straight-up yogic breathing when I take off my bra. Forget about sex or any exercise besides pilates and yoga and even those are a little dubious. Does anyone have any suggestions? All the info I've found seems geared toward the smaller-breasted. Also, this is my first pregnancy and I'm 1) terrified about how big they're going to get and 2) very paranoid that I'll smother my baby while breastfeeding (is that even a thing, I'm too scared to google it). Anyway, first post, any advice deeply appreciated!

@leilac Right here! Honestly all I can say is find what makes you feel better. For me, I wear sports bras 24/7. I feel like I've built up a better habituation to the pain, but I totally feel you on the bumpy roads and taking off the bra. I don't think baby suffocation is something to worry about unless your baby is premature. In that case, I believe the Drs/nurses will have you pump. I don't have personal experience there, so if anyone else does, please feel free to correct me.

  • When you are breastfeeding the babies head should be sort of titled back, so just the tip of the nose will be touching your breast. You will get the hang of it! & you can try lots of different positions to find one that works best.

I'm a 34D normally. With my dd I got to a DD. That sounds pretty small compared with you ladies hahaha! But it's painful for me because I have a very small frame. I had to wear a sports bra 24/7, even while sleeping.

  • I had a breast reduction 9 years ago at 19 years old. I'm pretty sure my boobs are almost back to their original size. For me, showering is awful. Driving is a close second. My back is in so much pain from carrying around the extra weight. I've been trying to do yoga stretches and I think it may be time to upgrade to a better bigger bra. I hate that everyone acts like pregnancy boobs are the best part of being pregnant. I'm so glad you ladies can relate (not glad you're all going through this painful aspect as well)!

Omg yes. My boobs hurt SO bad at first. I'm not sure if the pain is getting better or if I'm building a tolerance to it. I still have trouble with hugs though. Why do we even hug? My poor boobs can't take it! I bought a hideous, but very comfy bra since I've already had to size up. However, I'm mostly living in sports bras as well. Still bummed that it hurts going braless since that used to be one of my favorite things.

I'm regularly 34DD and usually go up 2 sizes after baby, so 34G? DD is technically E right? I can't keep them straight lol so far I haven't had any pain, but my last 4 pregnancies I didn't till later so I expect it's coming!

  • With my first pregnancy I was originally a 32EEE. By the time I was nursing full time I was spilling out of my 36H bras. My rib cage expanded massively, and so did my boobs (which I slightly expected but not to that extent). It helped me to strap them down when I was pregnant and they were sore. I mean full on bra, sports bra, and shelf bra cami. That way the sports bra could cover the bottoms and the cami could hold in the top (you probably already know that shelf bra inserts don't fully cover large cheated ladies). When my son was born I would push In my boob where his nose was so he could breath bc honestly I was scared I would suffocate him- which after a few weeks I knew wasn't going to happen so I let up, #newmomfears
  • 34DD over here. I got to a G cup while BFing the first time. Don't worry about suffocating your baby. Yes, their nose will be smushed while feeding but if you push your nose in you'll notice that your nostrils kind of flare out. This is essentially what happens with baby. We were built for this!

  • I was very large busted with my first pregnancy. I was able to breastfeed fine, you won't another your baby. You'll be looking at the baby when you're feeding so you would realize if there was an issue. The first 6 weeks or so of breastfeeding my boobs were huge and annoying, but after that they regulated and were only about 1 cup size bigger
  • I'm a 38G/H (and have been non-existent on here for the last few days, so Hi again everyone!) and I'm mostly just terrified that I won't be able to find a nursing bra that even remotely fits. I've been living in 1 of 2 bras with all of the underwire since a few days after I turned a test for the first time, and I haven't found anything that helps, except I use the gentle setting on my shower because the normal setting feels like I'm powerwashing my poor nipples.

  • Yeah Im a 38DDD/40DD depending on the brand, but already I might need to size up since I've noticed some curling on the edges of my cups. I didn't even consider the fear of smothering the baby though, since my boobs kind of hang in such a way that the nips will be easily accessable I think. I've heard that nursing pillows will be our best friends for a while.

  • I'm not nearly as big as some of you.  Wow, I'm so sorry. But I'm normally a small 36D. I've noticed I'm beginning to spill out the tops of some of my bras...
I wear an underwire sports bra to work, but it's starting to cut into my sides and the side boob is pushing the wires into my arms. Not comfy. But I can't ever find good sports bras for anything over D. Where do you guys find yours?

I'm a 34D pre-pregnancy. Doesn't seem that big but i have a small frame. I'm pretty confident I'm up to a 34DD now. They are pretty darn sore /swollen. I don't want to buy new bras for fear i might even bigger. Ugh

I get mine at Nordstrom. A brand called panache.

  • I'm usually a 34DD but I can definitely tell that they're bigger. Just bought some sports bras because I hate the soreness and the spillage I've got going on.

  • I'm a 32DD with a small frame and I've already increased one cup size. (I am terrified at how big these babies are gonna get! Oy!)

I've been wearing sports bras which are definitely more comfortable than underwires, but I can't stand to have them smushed down 24/7 and I definitely can't stand no support at all. So I bought some wirefree bras over the weekend (Jockey brand) and they are AMAZING! I feel the support of a sports bra without the smushing down.

  • I was a 32G before my son was born, and definitely went up a cup size when I was pregnant with my son. I was so scared they wouldn't go back down, but they did! My bras were super tight around my rib cage. I bought some strap extenders on Amazon (they were super cheap) and those definitely carried me through. Larger bras can be expensive!

@moosette113 bravado has nursing bras in very large sizes and they range from $30 and up. The dream nursing tank has been my go-to when I don't want to wear a bra. I'm a 34g pre-preggers and now....these babies need their own zip code at 26weeks. But bravado has got you covered!!
  • 32 GG/H pre-pregnancy and I can feel them getting bigger. I guess I'm lucky because even though I'm short and they are sizable I've never had issues with back pain. They've been so sore for weeks now and my underwire bras are sometimes a bit too firm so soft cups/bralettes it is. Bralettes are obviously not as supportive but they are SOFT which is all I need right now. Soft. Compression sports bras hurt too much so the only ones that are comfortable are my structured Panache sports bras.
