This is our 3rd, I'm not sure if anyone will be as overjoyed as we are, but I ordered these boxes for the grandmas. I want to video tape their reactions. We want to take a picture with our boys and caption it "Officially outnumbered Feb 2017" and post it to FB. But still want to hold out for 3 more weeks. is our
I didn't make a big announcement with my previous pregnancies. With my last one I just told my sister and niece who then told my parents and other siblings. This pregnancy is not a surprise to anyone, they knew when i went to the clinic for the transfer and they know Friday is the beta test. I am planning a surprise reveal when I find out the sex of the baby. Not a party, and no one is invited, just a reveal for the IP. Edit
@Hillmama86 that's so cute! We bought a onesie that said I love Grandma and a picture frame that said Grandkids for my mom and MIL. I wish I would have recorded their reactions, it was priceless!
We've already told my in-laws but we get together for dinner with his family a lot. We're going to change into t-shirts and wait for everyone to figure it out. (Sorry if the pictures are huge- mobile)
I have a couple of ideas for how to tell my parents. The one I'm leaning toward is pretending to take a picture of them with my nieces and saying something like "...say cheese! ....say 'Aunt V is pretty!' Say 'Aunt V is funny!' Say 'Aunt V is going to have a baby!'" And the camera is actually on video, so I can record their reactions.

I am really nervous about announcing as we announced early last pregnancy and miscarried two months ago. However, I made this last night just for fun, for me. Not sure if I'll use this as our official announcement or not.
I kind of like the idea of doing old fashioned printed and mailed announcements to friends and family this time. But we'll see. We won't be announcing until at least August.
I told my hubby by writing baby in pork in his chinese food one the evening that i took my test! He thought it was the cheesiest thing in history. To tell my dad, his gf, my mil, my bil, and my sil were going to have them over for my birthday dinner shortly after we have our first ultrasound. Im going to flood the house with blue and pink balloons!! To tell my mom, stepdad, sister and her bf, im going to make them little photoframes of our ultrasound!!!
Oh! And were going to make a card that w photos of our pets noggins that says mommy and daddy are getting us a HUMAN!!!!!!! Thats for all the friends, family that we dont see so much
Oh! And were going to make a card that w photos of our pets noggins that says mommy and daddy are getting us a HUMAN!!!!!!! Thats for all the friends, family that we dont see so much
We did something similar we got the dogs tees that says baby's body guard and the baby sitter!
Mom of one adorable little boy and excited to do this again.
We are on our third also! We didn't do anything fun or exciting for the first 2. We just went to visit parents to tell them, then called everyone else. I have been searching all over for something that will be fun and cute without going over the top. I have taken a billion funny faces with my positive test and thought about using them somehow but not sure.
We are HOPING we can wait until August 6th. I honestly don't think we can wait that long, we'll probably slip at some point. But, we are going to a big baseball game for my DH's birthday, and I have bought tickets for my in-laws, my parents, and my sister-in-law and her bf. My sister couldn't make it, but will probably tell her in confident a lot earlier. I'm hoping we can wait until August to make sure everything is going smoothly before telling everyone.
Anyway, the baseball game is Star Wars themed, which is why we're going for my DH (He doesn't like sports...it's entirely for the Star Wars part). There is a costume contest in the middle of it, so everyone is supposed to dress up Star Wars-y. There is a really cute shirt online that says "Padawan On Board" around the stomach that I think would be so perfect. I plan to wear a sweatshirt if it isn't too hot and take it off halfway through and be like "Tah-Dah!"
We plan to tell DH's mom with cookies that are something like this:
We will likely do something similar for my mom, as well. As for our siblings- we will probably just call them or just tell them the next time we see them.
I have two older children from a previous marriage. I am mostly excited to tell them! They've been waiting for a baby just as long as DH and I have!
I bought these shirts off Etsy and we are hiring a photographer to capture the moment. We are going to wrap these shirts up for each kid and have them open it and just wait for their reaction. I can't wait!!!
My DH and I went out to dinner with my parents. Earlier in the day I took a picture of a hot dog bun in the oven. I showed my mom the picture and it took her a few seconds to get it. She just kept saying "it's a hot bun...in your oven". I just kept saying "uh huh..." And then *lightbulb* she got it. It was fun to do but hard to keep a straight face.
I have recently stumbled across similar shirts @MagicMikki. I have settled on the idea of telling our children ( 9 & 7 ) then having them wear shirts to my parents and husbands parents and see how long it takes for them to notice. Thing is I thought since my son is the oldest and already a big brother then no one will think about his shirt, but my daughter wearing either a big sister shirt or an I'm getting promoted to big sister shirt... hers will be what will be the giveaway. Everyone will be like whaaaat? Taylor is a big brother but kayli is not a big sister. Or if it says getting promoted to big sister they will get it instantly. Hmmm I can't decide. They will look like these
We got this for my FIL and SMIL. As long as my beta comes back good on Wednesday H wants to give this as his Fathers Day gift. I am hesitant but we will see.
And this will be shipped to MIL in FL after we hear a heartbeat
I have no idea how we will announce on social media. I am thinking about doing something Harry Potter related. We shall see the closer we get to second tri

Now I may actually need a reveal idea. My Dad decided he wants to do Father's Day dinner the Monday following, so it will be right after my first ultrasound. If all goes well, we can tell my parents then. I can't decide if I should get him a Grandpa card or something like that, or just tell him. Although we fully expect my parents to be happy, my dad doesn't always do well with being caught off guard so I'm on the fence.
I really want to tell my parents on fathers day too, but our first appointment isn't until the 29th, so I think we're going to wait until then. Since this is our first pregnancy it just seems like a bad idea to tell people sooner.
We're going to find some cute visual way to tell them because my mom's hearing is bad, and I can just imagine telling them and my dad getting all excited and my mom going "did you say something?" Haha.
I really like something cute and simple like this
I might make a cake though instead that has a similar message on top rather than donuts.
For DH's mom, she's recently gotten super into the game Minecraft, which we've been playing for years. DH had the idea to build some kind of announcement in Minecraft, and have her play it. We're definitely going to try to catch it on video because I feel like she's going to freak out.
So I posted those cookies above, but then we found out that my MIL was going to be in town yesterday evening and we were going out to dinner. She knew we were trying and that we were going through infertility treatments, so she was always asking, and we knew we wouldn't want to lie about it. If something were to happen to baby, we would want her a part of it, anyway, so we knew we were going to tell her super early, anyway.
So during my lunch break, I quickly ran to the nearest bakery and grabbed these cupcakes, and my husband ran to a different bakery and had them mock up these cookies. They didn't turn out nearly as cute as they are in the original pic, but they turned out ok, and they did the trick!
She came to our house first, we sat around and talked for a bit, we decided where to go for dinner, and then my husband was like, "But we should come back here for dessert after..." And busted out the treats!
With our first, we announced by giving our parents a Christmas ornament that was baby themed. For my parents it was a glass baby buggy and for my Inlaws it was a tree stump with baby feet and month of arrival.
With th this one I will most likely put DD1 in her big sis shirt and take a photo and put it in a photo frame.

This is baby number 3. We have two daughters already. We plan on doing a shoot like this in a few weeks. We will frame them and give them to parents, in laws, etc. But the best part is the photoshoot will be a reveal in itself. My oldest is learning to read so I know she's going to ask me what the board says. The photographer (who happens to be my bff) will be locked and loaded to capture the moment when I help her sound it out! She talks about us having another baby all the time. So she will be thrilled!

Only at 4 weeks here, so not thinking about reveals yet. With DD we waited until 17 weeks because that was the earliest date we could get the ILs and my parents together for brunch. We decorated the table with cutouts of onions (size of DD at that time) and hid the 3D US behind each place setting. Then we got everyone to go outside, for "pictures", but in reality once everyone was grouped in front of the camera I started filming and called out "(SO's name) is going to be a dad!" ... crickets .... Nobody got what I was going for. So I now have a video of our families standing in front of the camera, blinking at me. The audio is me increasingly desperately trying to get the point across. For about a minute. Then I capitulated and turned the camera off.
I think this time around we'll just go the "Big Sister" T-shirt route.
@MamaCoffin I love the photo shoot idea- (I also have 2 girls)... We are probably just going to put DD2 in a big sister shirt. My parents are coming up on Tuesday for my dad's birthday, and they will know IMMEDIATELY when I don't order a glass of wine at dinner
My husband and I are about to move to Israel for the summer and his parents will be visiting us there next month. We plan on having our almost one year old wearing a "big sister shirt" from Etsy. As for my parents, I can't decide if I want to tell them next week before we leave or wait until a little later when I'd probably have to tell them over Skype somehow. I have no idea what our announcement to the public will be eventually! I won't announce publicly until I'm at least 12 weeks.
I told DH by putting this bandana on our dog. It says Big Brother. I already told my mom, brother and SIL in person. But I'm going to tell my dad on Father's Day. I plan to have our dog wear the bandana and give him a photo frame that says Lil Buckaroo (my dad's a cowboy) with a note that says coming February 13, 2017...great grandma R's birthday.

We just found out this morning that I was pregnant - and we'll be waiting until the end of the first trimester. I'd like to tell my mom sooner (my dad passed away in 2012), but DH doesn't want to tell his parents earlier than 3 months because he has a rocky relationship with them (and wants it to be our secret for awhile) and we figure it would potentially be a big thing if we told my mom but not his parents. For my mom I'll likely just tell her via Skype, for his parents we could do something special (it will be their first grandkid) but I have a feeling that DH won't be interested because of the rocky relationship thing - but maybe I can convince him that it is as much for me as for them. We may do something special for his brothers - I think that at least 2 of them would be touched by that (and DH has a close relationship with his brothers). For my siblings - I'll probably just tell them. I have my heart set on an Italian name to reflect my heritage - what I'm may do is ask my sister to send me an Italian baby name book (she still lives there)...
