Re: Wednesday Ticker Change 6.1.16
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm tired of every person I see asking me how I'm feeling, every time I see them (that's really petty and it makes me feel bad just thinking it).
Question: I'm having some non-pregnancy health issues, and my OB said to call if I have more than 8 contractions in a day, but I have no idea what a contraction feels like. Any STMs out there - will I know for sure that I'm having one? Now, every twinge I feel I'm asking myself if it's a contraction.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? All food is good right now, and I feel like I could literally eat all day.
Upcoming appointments? Next appointment is 6/16, so a few weeks away.
GTKY (stolen from Tuesday): What did you do after high school? Community college, 4 year, right to work, Peace Corps? If you could go back in time, would you take the same path? I went to a 4 year college and dropped out my second year because of a silly argument with my parents - giving up a full scholarship in the process. I ended up finishing by taking classes part time while working full time (sometimes 2 jobs so I could pay for it all without loans). If I could go back, I would absolutely stick it out and find a way to work with my parents. That decision not only put a strain on my relationship with my dad and his wife that is still there today, I damaged a lot of really good friendships. I have a good life and a good job and they would almost certainly be different if I'd taken a different path, but I still think I'd make that choice if I could go back.
Rants/Raves/Questions? After one week at my new job (daycare teacher), those little ones got me sick
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Sore back, especially from picking up those toddlers constantly at work. Some indigestion, oh and started peeing myself a little when I sneeze. Other than that, feeling pretty good. I just love food and want to eat constantly. Full is not in my vocabulary.
Upcoming appointments? 6/14 for regular check-up and 6/16 for another U/S to finish the anatomy scan (he was curled so the tech couldn't see the bottom of his spine). Excited we get to see our boy again!
GTKY: What did you do after high school? Community college, 4 year, right to work, Peace Corps? If you could go back in time, would you take the same path? I went straight to college, graduated in 3 years and then went straight to law school. I was SO burnt out that law school literally almost killed me in my 2nd semester. I came down with some super rare respiratory disease and ended up in the ICU. So I had to take a year off before continuing. Despite all of that, I'm glad I did it like that because it allowed us to move, buy a house and start a family earlier than if I had waited so I'm happy about that, but I'm not sure being a lawyer is where I belong now.
How many weeks? What size is baby? 22w
Rants/Raves/Questions? @mommymaggieh I am sick of people asking how I am feeling also. Both my mom and MIL ask at least once a week. My sister just sent out invites for the shower they are throwing me in June, crazy how fast this is going!
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? I’m pretty confident I am having Braxton hicks. Also, the heartburn is really bad. Baked goods are my weakness. No real cravings though.
Upcoming appointments? I had one 2 weeks ago that turned into just an ultrasound appointment, the doctor had to cancel. Then last week’s doctor appointment turned into an ultrasound appointment when she couldn’t find a heartbeat with the Doppler. Fortunately, no more appointments until June 20th. Then I have to have an ultrasound at 28w because baby is measuring small, 33 percentile, so my doctor wants to check growth.
GTKY (stolen from Tuesday): What did you do after high school? Community college, 4 year, right to work, Peace Corps? If you could go back in time, would you take the same path? I went to a large-ish University for one 4 year degree which turned into spending 5 years there for two bachelor degrees. I wouldn’t change the path I took, college, but I would change the degree(s) I got.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I agree with @mommymaggieh - I'm sick of people asking how I'm feeling. Especially because I'm not sure they actually want an honest answer...
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Worst symptom is the anxiety. Physically, I'm feeling fine, almost normal even, but inside I am a huge ball of stress. I'm so worried about everything all the time and cannot seem to stop thinking about it. I plan to talk to my doctor about it at my next appointment because it just seems to be getting worse.
Upcoming appointments? Checkup and anatomy scan both next week. My husband and I really need to decide whether we're going to find out the baby's sex!
GTKY (stolen from Tuesday): What did you do after high school? Community college, 4 year, right to work, Peace Corps? If you could go back in time, would you take the same path? I went to a 4 year college, graduated in 4 years, then took some time off to work before I went to law school. Out of law school now and working. I'm pretty happy with the path I took...the only thing I would change would maybe be to take slightly less time off between college and law school because I felt a little old try to start a career at 30.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Some energy would be amazing! I'm so freaking tired this trimester, and it's so frustrating because there is so much that needs to be done to get ready for this little one.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Craving hot dogs, bratwurst, sausage - basically any kind of processed meat that's not great for you. Aversion to red meat, except for hamburgers.
Upcoming appointments? My anatomy scan is on Monday and I'm insanely excited to find out if we're having a boy or a girl!
GTKY (stolen from Tuesday): What did you do after high school? Community college, 4 year, right to work, Peace Corps? If you could go back in time, would you take the same path? I went to a four-year college and have a bachelor's degree in clarinet performance. Have barely played a lick since I graduated 14 years ago. Kicking myself for not getting a degree in accounting, which I'm great at and would have made a decent career. Oh well...moving forward.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Happy to be feeling pretty great. Sad that my abs are starting to hurt on my walks though. I don't want to give those up!
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? FRUITZZZZZ
Upcoming appointments? Later in June just a usual check up
GTKY (stolen from Tuesday): What did you do after high school? Community college, 4 year, right to work, Peace Corps? If you could go back in time, would you take the same path? Went to a 4 year, then grad school right away, then worked right away. I loved all the schooling I did, but I would take some time off in between and travel if I could do it all over again.
