I think its pretty. I like Katya best but they're all nice. I knew a very sweet lady named Katja.

I would probably drop Katia, as Katya seems to be the main form, with Katja being the German/Scandinavian/Polish/weuseJ'sinsteadofY's form.

I would expect a child with this name to have very strong Russian heritage.

That said, I think of the drag queen. But Katya is awesome so I don't find it to be a negative.

I think it's cute! I knew a little Kaatje, so of your options Katja or Katya look fine to me.

I like this name.
It has an Eastern European vibe, and I might assume the family had connections to Eastern Europe, but I wouldn't think it was weird if they turned out not to.
Katja seems like it is probably the traditional spelling, but it might lead to pronunciation problems. Katya seems like a reasonable variant. Katia could easily be mistaken for Katie, and I would probably avoid it.
