rant: It's supposed to be in the mid-90's here this weekend and our portable ac has had some troubles.  I am hoping we got it fixed, but I guess we'll find out for sure this weekend.
rave: I did not expect to make it this far, but I'm thrilled I have.  Last 17p shot was yesterday and I was VERY glad to be done with that weekly chore.
symptoms: The ligaments under my belly are complaining much more strenuously the last few days.  I tried to stretch when I got up this morning and nearly died it hurt so bad.  Won't make that mistake again.

what are you doing to prepare for baby? Not much at this point, just hoping he'll hang in there until the 14th

GTKY: How long have you and your partner been together and do you have other children?
Our fifth wedding anniversary was last weekend and we met just short of two years prior to our wedding.  Our son will be 4 on June 29th and my official due date for this boy is June 28th.  Apparently I make babies one time each year.  We're not planning to have more.  I told my husband if he wanted more kids he could find a fresh faced young second wife to have them because I'm too old, but to make sure she liked to clean because I like to cook.

rant/rave/ symptom: Rant....I echo the Bitchiness....I really just want to sleep, I am officially down to only 2 hrs at a time at night, I cant seem to stretch it at all, the last 45 mins of my sleep is always the best and I don't want to get up for work anymore!  (1 more week of work and I'm done)

what are you doing to prepare for baby? We are pretty much ready at this point for him to arrive.  Dr said he wont let me go past my date, probably because the baby is already measuring at week 39 and 9 lbs I cant image how big he will actually be if I make it past 40.

Questions? ummmm anyone else not have any BH contractions, it seems like everyone talks about them but I don't think I have felt any, mind you I am a plus size lady so I may feel things different.

GTKY: How long have you and your partner been together and do you have other children? Not very long at all, we started seeing eachother in December of 2013, made it exclusive in June of 2014 then he moved in Jan 2015 and we were pregnant by September 2015 (hehehe oops) got engaged in October 2015.  Wedding had to be put off till March 2017 so I can find a dress after the baby is out in June 2016! hehehehe.   He has a 5 year old son who we have 50% of the time.....sorry that's so detailed I have to do it that way or I get it wrong.

rant/rave/ symptom: still pregnant and incredibly uncomfortable, not at all dilated and LO is still really high up.  Dr won't do a membrane sweep this early so I'm going back Tuesday (day before my due date) and he'll reevaluate then based on her position. His reasoning makes complete sense and I agree with him, I just was really hoping that there would be some progress being made.  I was 4 days late with DS and it looks like I'm going to 40 weeks or longer with this one too.

what are you doing to prepare for baby? got a gel mani so I'm ready for pictures.

GTKY: How long have you and your partner been together and do you have other children? We have been together 10 years (married for 7) and have one son (turning 2 on June 18).
  • How far along: 38+1

rant/rave/ symptom: Extra emotional lately and I can't tell if it's justified or pregnancy hormones. Had an appt yesterday and kiddo is still high and tight so it's looking like we're in it for the long haul. Pretty bad insomnia last night, but I think it's due to the stress of selling our house and not pregnancy related for once.

what are you doing to prepare for baby? Prepping for our first house showing today and open house Saturday/Sunday. I'm torn between wanting to prep the office/nursery and wanting it to look like an office for the open house. Currently most of the baby stuff is in the back of my car.

    Questions?

GTKY: How long have you and your partner been together and do you have other children? We've been together for 10.5 years and a week from today we will have been married for 5 years. This is our first kid, besides our fur baby.

rant/rave/ symptom: Had my membrane sweep this morning (man, that was unpleasant....). Scheduled induction for Wednesday June 8. I hope this kid gets moving; I really am not looking forward to induction.
Massive Rant: It's going to be 117 in Phoenix for the next three days. I will not be leaving the house unless I'm headed to the hospital!

what are you doing to prepare for baby? Praying that the membrane sweep worked, lol.

GTKY: How long have you and your partner been together and do you have other children? We've been together for 11 1/2 years, married for nearly 6, and this is our first (and last) kid.

I had my membranes stripped at 39+3 on wed and lost my plug yesterday morning and have had lots of back pain and cramping and have been an emotional wreck today so I'm hoping it did get stuff moving for me. Fingers crossed it will work for you.
  • @26pointrunningfor2 I hope things get moving for you this weekend!

    How far along:

rant/rave/ symptom: Had a doctor appointment this morning where they did an ultrasound and NST, and I will go back and do it all over again on Monday if baby doesn't come over the weekend. I know they want to keep a close eye on things once someone goes overdue, but given that everything looked good today (baby measured around 8 pounds and I had way more than the minimum amniotic fluid) I don't know why it's necessary to do another ultrasound in three days.

what are you doing to prepare for baby? Waiting, and trying to plan our meals really carefully so that we don't leave a bunch of food to spoil in the fridge.

GTKY: How long have you and your partner been together and do you have other children? We've been together about 7 years, and we'll have our 5-year wedding anniversary in October. This is our first kid.

Rant: It's only day 3 of mat leave and I'm having a hard time adjusting. If I spend too much time on the couch, I start to feel guilty for relaxing too long but I also don't want to overdo it with tasks around the house. Doing my best to find a balance.
Rave: I successfully walked our bullie to the vet office and back this afternoon. No easy feat when it's kinda hot outside for a preggo woman and a bulldog. We both survived thanks to frequent water breaks in the shade and just plain ole taking our time. Additional points go to her for not freaking out at the vet office like she did last time (the last visit was on the tail of a traumatic seizure that resulted in a 24hr stay in the animal hospital...her vet visit afterwards was really rough for her).
Symptom: Pelvic discomfort/pressure, lots of pee-breaks, and not-so-great sleep.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? Organizing some last-minute registry items that are coming in and continuing to wrap up my shower "thank you" cards.

Questions? @Shanna2016, I honestly had absolutely no idea I was even having them until one day I was rubbing my belly and thought, "You know, it feels a bit harder than usual." The dr. was able to confirm that I was having BH contractions and I was just too oblivious to notice them before. I still don't really notice them unless I'm touching my belly when it happens but they're getting a little more intense so every now and then I can feel them without the touch.

GTKY: How long have you and your partner been together and do you have other children? It will be 5yrs in July, this is our first child. We're both extremely excited (and nervous/anxious).

    rant/rave/ symptom:
My hips are killing me!!  I don't know if baby dropped or what...I don't look like I'm carrying lower, but it sure feels like all the pressure and weight has shifted. I don't have PT until the 7th so I'm trying to adjust myself with the exercises she has me doing.  Not sure it's working much.
I also threw up my breakfast right after I finished this morning.  Fun times.

what are you doing to prepare for baby?
    Still just waiting.

GTKY: How long have you and your partner been together and do you have other children?
Well, we've known each other about 12 years now...we dated a couple times before it "stuck" lol but we've been together for 9 consecutive years and married 8 years this July.  We have two other daughters (age 6 and 4.5), LO makes 3 girls for us!

  • @Knottie1431017427 I am also having trouble adjusting to maternity leave, and I have the task of keeping our house show ready so we can get it sold before LO shows up. It's just such a departure from my usual day that finding a new routine is hard, and H has been so busy that it gets really lonely.

Exactly, I'm just so used to being in the office that being home and knowing I'm here for an extended period of time is just a tad unnerving. I know it'll be a totally different ballgame once the kiddo arrives, so we'll see! Kuddos to you for going through the craziness of selling your home! (PS - Replying from my vintagevix86 account since I didn't know I had a separate "Knottie" account, whoops!)

Not much choice in selling the house. DH is getting stationed cross country and its either sell before she comes or right after so that we have the time and cash flow to buy in Va. Hopefully things move quick and we'll be in escrow before kiddo makes her arrival.

  • @meggyme Fair enough, makes sense to me! (Btw, military brat here and from VA). Best of luck with the sale and move!!  :)
  • I'll be 39 weeks soon!

Having a lot of BH's right now. Come on, baby!

Raves: My mom is awesome! Is she worked extra long hours today so she could be by my side this weekend. I adore her.

The Hubs and I have been married since July 2009. We have a 3yr old boy whom we named after my dad, and we have an angel baby boy who was born last June. Our bun in the oven is actually due on our angel's birthday.

Tired of people repeatedly telling me how huge I am, and they're sure it's twins (because my doctor is a total moron, right?) Ready for Mr. Man to make his exit. At my OB visit Tuesday, doc informed me he actually moved UP from an engaged position!! I didn't think that was possible. Damn it, William, you're going the wrong way! No new symptoms, just peeing like the endless fountain I am, and pooping like there's no tomorrow.

My husband and I have been married a little over 5 and 1/2 years and we have a 3 year old toddler of terror. He's such a stinker, and can't wait to be a big brother!
