Not sure if you are all aware but today is National Donut Day. Yes there is indeed a day for everything now. My coworker brought in donuts. I have already had two. No one will eat the third. It's staring at meeeee and I might eat it even though I already feel sick from all the sugar. Can't resist the doughy goodness! Also impending AF has had me like this allllll week:

@schumerator Today is also my birthday so I decided to have (Donut Plant) donuts for breakfast, office cake for lunch, and H and I are going out to dinner after work so you know I'm getting dessert. Birthday calories don't count, right?

That's not even my FFFC. It is that I never watch movies. People keep referencing Jaws and Scarface and Star Wars and I have no idea what they're talking about because I've basically only seen Harry Potter, a few chick flicks, and supernatural horror movies. (Ok, I'll watch whatever my MCM Benedict Cumberbatch is in).

My Flame Free Friday Confession:

I hate french kissing. I think it's gross. It's not about the guy or the skill level of kissing, I've just never liked it. DH thinks that my aversion to it is weird, but he's gotten over it. We can still have passionate make-out sessions, and a little open mouth is fine, but keep your damn tongue on your side. If your tongue ends up in my mouth I WILL laugh. And the moment will be over.

@felix08 Good for you, I've been wanting to get rid of mine! It's like I have this anxiety (strong word, being dramatic) about it and not having apps, or having a good camera for pictures. But any time I get off social media for a while I realize how much I don't care!

@melissam090 Yesss, same! It's just not enjoyable to me! I will do it just because it seems like it has to be done that way and H would probably find it weird if I told him now after 6 years that I would like for it to stop lol. Also that picture is hysterical tied to your FFC

I have another one... I am such a social media judger. Between the woman who gave her daughter $100 from the "tooth fairy" for her first lost tooth to the Beach Body pusher who wrote "After basically a month of eating and drinking calories- I am finally getting back on track!" (because there are ways to eat and drink without calories? And that would be healthy?) I'm just sitting here like:

Here is a real confession, inspired by the kissing-related confessions above: my husband is not a good kisser. He was a truly horrendous kisser when we first met: closed mouth, puckered lips, no passion whatsoever. He's come a long way under my patient tutelage, but he's still not great at it. He happens to be the sweetest human who ever walked the face of the earth, so I give him a pass. But we're not working with much of a Casanova here.

@MelissaM090 I agree 100% with the tongue thing! Not a fan at all. Your picture with the FFFC is absolutely hilarious!

I do a lot of collections work for my employer (payment plans, down payments, ect.) and my confession is that when people are rude to me I am way more strict with them. I am pretty used to people yelling at me and cussing and hanging up but it will get them NOWHERE. I called someone to collect a down payment the other day and he cussed me out for like 5 minutes and hung up so I cancelled his appointment. Sorry not sorry, don't be an asshole!

If they had been nice and listened to what I was saying and genuinely wanted to work out an arrangement for the cost I would have totally worked with them and they would have gotten to keep their appointment. But no, they had to be a jerk.

I ate a big box (10 oz) of fortune cookies and tried to twist every fortune into meaning that I'm totally KU. My favorite: Good things come in invisible packages. You will be delighted. Later I got one that said that if you read your fortune out loud, it will bring good luck. So I read that other one to my dog, natch. *eyeroll*

@Schumerator Yeah, I definitely packed some stale donuts for my breakfast because I have to do my part for the celebration.
@felix08 I didn't have one until a year or so ago. It's just as I always suspected. Once you get one, you'll never want to go back. (That is, as long as you're someone who can keep the connectivity in check. I declined to put work email on my phone and look at it as a tool that's meant to do what I want. Not as something that makes me available to people 24/7.)
@SienaC Or when traffic is horrendous and Google Maps can cook up some brilliant reroute that will get you home an hour sooner! I'm always amazed by people who expect to get goods & services for free. I always want to say, "Do you work for free?? We don't, either!!" There are people who get all bent out of shape because we won't just give our product to them--so that they can turn around and make money with it! It's amazing.

@felix08 - I could not live without my smartphone. I am absolutely addicted. I got it as a hand-me-down from my mom, and now I can never put it down.

@housewifehobbyist - I'm a judgey-pants too. The worst for is when people brag about how amazing their life is, when I know otherwise.

My FFFC:
I hate shopping. I hate buying clothes. My entire wardrobe is either from high school or gifts.

@sienac GPS is one of the things I do wish I had access to! Fortunately, I live in a small town and am rarely in a position that I might need it. Also, I love your confession about your job. It's baffling that people think being a jackass will help get them what they want.
@schumerator I wish I could say that I don't do social media, but I definitely still do! I actually have an ipod touch that I have my apps on (just need to be in a wifi area to use it.
@housewifehobbyist is there a reason to go on social media besides judging?? Lol. I feel like if people post that stuff, they have to be okay with other people judging them.
@monalisaralphio Woah, that's a good confession! Hopefully he will come even further with more practice, ha.
@kiki75 That's why I'm holding out as long as possible--I know I will never go back when I finally take the plunge. I just love my cheap phone bills too much!
@kyrenora I know I would be the same if I had one, which is partially why I'm trying to hold off!

I've been needing to drop something off at the high school for weeks. I've avoided going because I was afraid of getting mistaken for a student. I finally went today. Everyone was taller than me. My ego still hurts a little. I should have worn heels today.

I don't own a computer. DH and I both got new laptops a couple years ago, mine bit the dust far too soon, and I just never replaced it....I just use my work laptop and save all my files on dropbox, google docs, a usb, or our external hard drive....

DH is working late tonight and I made a big stink about hating it to him. But really I'm totally looking forward to putting DS to bed, and then staying up and watching my shows and eating whatever I want all by myself!

Okay I have another. On the subject of judging people on social media. I have this girl on Facebook, we went to high school together, we're not really friends but she works at a store I frequent, so we're friendly.

I would say, on average, she posts 5-6 times per day on FB. Her posts are always 'scripted' (as in, written like a script) verbatim conversations back and forth between her and her toddler son. They are 100% designed to show off how 'smart' her kid is and the 'funny' things he says.

They are not funny. At all. It's actually super annoying and she's two seconds away from being hidden from my news feed.

I triggered this morning in preparation for my IUI tomorrow and since I've never seen a positive pregnancy test, I just peed on a wondfo. While I'm not actually pregnant, it was nice to finally see two lines.

I have a couple today...

1. I haven't been posting since June started because I haven't gotten myself together enough to do the siggy challenge...

2. I am also majorly a social media judger. I have a friend who doesn't allow any screens in her house with her kids (4 and 2). That wouldn't be my choice, but it's fine for her.

So, have you all seen the toddler questionnaire going around? You ask your toddler questions and post their answers? One of the questions is about the toddler's favorite TV show and apparently her 4 year old said "we don't watch TV in our house but I love to read!" I feel like you just didn't ask the question and typed what you would want her response to be...

I also judge people who blow up their drama all over social media. I will not, however, block/unfriend them because it makes me feel better about my life.

Since Chinese medicine recommends keeping to womb warm to increase circulation and help implantation, I am currently drinking hot green tea. ..outside. I am sitting in the shade since its 107 and climbing. But this reeks of desperation.

I also confess to rescheduling my acupuncture appointment from ovulation day to DPO5 for better sticking chances.

I have the glow app and sometimes obsessively look at the "very faint BFP?!" posts. The pee sticks don't make me say "ew", but the condition of some of their fingernails do. Fake nails gross me out, especially when they are super long and grown out.

Oh man, those are such a guilty obsession of mine (the VF BFP posts, not nasty nails). There's so many where it's stark white and like 80% of the comments are "I can clearly see the second line! Congrats

!" Why lie about that for an internet stranger? What is wrong with people? Always makes me happy to hear that our community's response to squinter concerns/questions is "wait a few days and test again."

@Jerilu @clover28 I sometimes like to go on threads on some of the crazier sites (like Baby and the Bump) for people who swear they got a positive on 3 DPO and tracking them through the whole thread. In my head I'm yelling things like "That's a Blue Dye Test and an evap line!" at them, but the crazy in me is like "What if I tested today, I could be that one in a million...?" And that'd when DH locks up the pregnancy tests.
