What do you put your LO to sleep in? Are they still in a sleep sack?
We live in Southern California, and today was a little taste of summertime heat. We still put our son in some sort of sleep sack for every nap/night time sleep. If it's cooler we put him in a long sleeve/footed pair of pj's in a short sleeve cotton sleep sack. Tonight since it is warmer he's wearing a short sleeve onesie in a thin long sleeve fleece sleep sack.
As it continues to get warmer I don't know what is best for pj's or a sleep sack. Is it okay to still have them in a sleep sack at this age?
I feel like the sleep sack helps signal to him that it's time to sleep, and helps keep him a little "controlled" in the crib since he loves to scoot and stand in there. It definitely looks more comfy to be sleeping inside of something too instead of just being in the crib in his pj's. I know I wouldn't be able to sleep well without some kind of blanket on myself!
I purchased an Aden & Anais wearable blanket and it looked RIDICULOUS on him. It was SO long!! I don't know what baby it would ever fit! It was really light weight which was nice, but since it was so long I feel like he'd get all tangled in it!
When is it safe for them to have a blanket in the crib?
Re: Pajamas
I'm worried about his association with sleep sack = sleep. I'm scared if I take it away he's going to think it's play time in the crib. Now when I zip him up he starts yawning and rubbing his ear, so it's like he knows!
Now, I seldom put him in anything but a diaper underneath, but when it was cold, I'd do a long-sleeved onesie under the wearable blanket. Haven't used footed Jammie in a while, because he's so long and lanky, they don't fit well.
