Fun question

I am slowly eating ALL of my words that I said pre-pregnancy, and I know I will be eating a lot more over the next 18 years! haha!!!
For example, my husband and I work A LOT.. we own our own business, he has a gov't daytime job, and I'm on staff at our church. So we literally work all the time, Saturday's and Sundays included. I used to get so mad at people asking me "how can you be so tired you don't have kids" or telling me I didn't know what tired was and that I would realize it one day. Well now I know what tired is and I know I'm just going to be more and more tired once this baby gets here!
Also, trying to get my sisters to get baby sitters so we could go to the pool kid free during the summer...I told a friend of mine who doesn't have kids that this was our last kid free summer at the pool and she suggested I get a sitter next summer and I lost it on her. hahahaha! I get it now.
I told DH last night we are in for a serious reality check and I take back and apologize for everything i've ever said!
What are some things you said you'd never do, or reality checks you've had since you've been pregnant or with your first child?
*edited words.. can't type today!*
Re: I said I'd never...
Fast-forward to yesterday, 4PM:
OH: "What do you want for dinner?"
Me: "Oh I don't know, I'm not feeling too picky right now..."
OH: "Okay so hot dogs..."
Me: "Really?"
OH: "Or pizza...."
I also said I would never obsess over getting pregnant, but the 6215682 ovulation and pregnancy tests in a two week time proved me wrong there.
It's just too exciting not to tell, but also, because I'm PGAL, having the extra support is nice.
Edited because my spell check hates me.
Bed-share with my baby.
Feed my baby puffs
Let my child watch tv
Insult her intelligence by giving her toys which make noise and light up.
...until I did do all of these things.
But after 8 months of both of us doing everything we could to maximize our fertility for TTC, it's definitely a "we" and we've said "we're pregnant" to several people when announcing. Saying "I'm pregnant" doesn't sound right. We both put a lot into this and this is both of our pregnancy.
Except, you know, only one of us is downing Preggie Pop Drops.
Dora and Paw Patrol are my favorite babysitters. I felt a little better about it when I found my barely 2 yr old counting her pull-ups in Spanish a few months ago. #winwin
"I'll never us pregnancy as an excuse to eat junk food"
Called my husband today: "So uhm.... Think you wouldn't mind bringing me some burger king?? Your baby is craving a crispy chicken sandwich...."
I feel the power...
Yea...we live in a suburb,have cats,travel once a year,have a canoe and drive sedans. Oh also...I'm pregnant.
I also convinced myself I'd eat super duper healthy..all organic and crap. I ate an entire box of macaroni and cheese...spongebob shapes!
My husband and I were both adamant that baby stuff would not take over our house. Jokes on us! It did. We keep things hidden in cabinets or put away, but it's there. And the guest bath has turned strictly into our little boos bathroom, complete with cheesy shower curtain and princess training potty.
The baby needed pizza last week. No shame.
I also said pregnancy wouldn't get in the way of being fit and eating healthy, that went out the window pretty quick!
I was really determined that he not have those frozen chicken nuggets. Then I got pregnant and had horrible exhaustion and nausea with DS2. He had those things like every other day at that point.
I was really judgey about the whole "moms don't have time to shower" thing. I was an idiot, showering actually is a chore when you have a baby and forget drying my hair. That only happens on date night.
@EH112212 Sorry to threadjack. DS2 (10 months) has RAD and needs treatments as well. Is this something you'd be willing to answer questions about if its a similar situation?
DS1 - 03/31/2006
DS2 - 12/31/2008
DS3 - 06/26/2012
DS4 - 08/07/2014
Now....biscuits out of a can have never tasted SO GOOD! And Annie's mac n cheese? I can eat a whole box, easy. I have never craved a hot dog as hard as I do now and the other day I would have given anything to eat an entire can of spaghetti-O's. Chef boyardee beef ravioli's are just tempting me in their sweet red sauce. I try to avoid actually eating the "bad" stuff I'm craving but I don't know how long I can hold out. I will admit that I've eaten more Cheese Doritos in the last week than I have in the last 10 years.
I have all these preconceived ideas about what I'm "not going to do when I have a baby". But if this pregnancy is anything like parenthood, my kids will be listening to Bob Marley while watching the movie Casino by the time they are 5.
I had to make the same apology to the universe! Yesterday the ONLY thing I could eat and that helped my nausea was a crispy chicken sandwich and fries from burger king! And I swore up and down I would eat healthy.... Nearly impossible with M/S....
Thanks hun...buuut TB still sounds way more amazing! I haven't tried it yet, but would it be really bad to? lol and right now I am loving Anne's Mac & Cheese and for some reason cereal for dinner...
Until she wouldn't sleep because she was hungry.
Sleep deprivation is a tricky b and caused me to back off on most of my "I'll never"s
Hope everyone gets better soon!
I also said I would only BF for one year, I ended up BFing for 2yrs & 2 months.
Our 18month old also love TV (Bubble Guppies), but she eats like a champ while watching it, so I'll take it!
