So my baby girl is measuring small- 4.5% on the fetal growth chart so my 6/20 due date is no longer. I'm getting induced on 6/7 at 10pm. I'm nervous because of how small they say she is. At 35 weeks they estimated her weight at 4lbs. Hopefully she's gained a lot in these past 3 weeks. I will know more Monday because I'm getting another growth-BPP-NST scan. I'm also nervous about getting induced and it not working. I do not want a CS but will do what I have to. This is my third but it's like I'm a FTM...never had any issues with the two previous. Ohhh and baby keeps flipping around from head down to transverse to breech and back to head down. probably because she is so small and there is so much space but that makes me nervous too. No questions...more of a rant and looking for support.

  • Lurking from july.

So so sorry you are going through this! Just remember that they are doing this for the benefit of your baby. Hopefully your LO starts calming down a bit and turns head down! Hugs to you!

  • This is no fun but a lot of times its for the best that they come out early. My twins had to be delivered at 33 weeks and 3 lbs due to complications causing IUGR and the second they were out they did so much better than they were in utero. Best wishes!!!!
  • I don't have any advice to add but wanted to say I'm hoping for the best for you! FX that all goes well next week!
  • Sorry for the scary news :( I hope your induction goes smooth and LO is healthy!

I was induced with my first at bit early due to very low AF and consistently high BP via pitocin. Pitocin worked like a Charm! from start to finish labor was 12 hours, pushed for an hour.
I just had my second and went into labor by myself, the contractions were actually worse!
Good luck and praying for a safe delivery!!
  • Thanks everyone! tomorrow I go in for a growth scan and hopefully get a better picture of how baby girl is doing...then Tuesday we get admitted! Getting excited
  • Thoughts and prayers that the u/s looks positive tomorrow and that the induction goes well on Tuesday!!
  • My first baby had IUGR and I was induced at 37 weeks. I was 0 percent dialated or effaced and got to have him vaginally. Also he ended up being bigger thank they thought 5.13. Hoping you great success since its your 3rd I have high hopes for no c-section!!! Good luck

  • Good luck! My cousin and his wife had their baby in March and she was IUGR. She was 4lbs 14oz when she was born. She's almost 3 months now and is doing great! Just wanted to give a positive story :) Sending prayers for a healthy baby and easy delivery
  • Yay for all the good stories! I'm staying positive!
  • No experience with IUGR but I know how scary it is to learn there's a complication for your baby. Sounds like there are lots of positive outcomes for babies and mamas in your situation -- thinking of you!
