TTC After a Loss

Intro...

Hi ladies. I am sad to be back here. I am 25 and SO is 32. We have been together for almost 4 years and will be getting married next year I had a miscarriage June 20th 2015 after a full year of trying. We were trying again and got our BFP after about 10 months. However, we had a second mc this month. I am not sure what we are going to do going forward. But we will keep trying. I have made my own appt. with an RE since my ob did not want to refer yet. He stated we just need to keep trying. After two years and two mc that wasn't exactly what I wanted to hear. I am blessed to have a 5 year old son from a previous relationship and a 2 year old miniature poodle that is like a second child.

I look forward to getting to know you ladies and I love the support this group offers.

Re: Intro...

  • I'm so sorry for your losses. I have had two MCs within 4 months of each other and it's a scary and confusing time. Good for you for pushing for more information. I haven't gone to see an RE yet, but I did a lot of blood work, which all turned out to be normal so we are trying again.

I am sorry this turned into a ramble about myself, but you're not alone and you're welcome here!

  • I'm so sorry for your losses. You are 100 % doing the right thing by seeing an RE now if it's taking you 10 months 2 conceive and you had 2 miscarriages. Most OBs don't follow the new ASRM guidelines that say recurrent pregnancy loss testing should start following 2 miscarriages and no living children. I'm 37 and get pregnant easily, but have had 2 back to back MCs and will be getting RPL testing even though my OB says it's not necessary yet.
  • welcome, I'm so sorry for your losses. I hope you find comfort here and have a short stay.

  • I'm so sorry for your losses. I've had two myself and fully support checking into the RE or at least getting tested. Never be afraid to advocate for yourself. Welcome and hope your stay here is short!
  • So sorry for your losses. I am also thinking of going to see an RE. People know more about their own bodies and doctors should give us credit for that. If you honestly feel that there is an issue I wouldn't hesitate going in to see a specialist.
