***General TW that this thread can and will mention MC and loss.*** This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have hit a roadblock and are delaying for whatever reason. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on not TTC and connect with others who are in the same boat. TTC can be a long journey, and having to wait makes it feel even longer- even if it is for a good reason. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say, and treat this like an ongoing conversation. Benched = involuntarily not NTNP/TTC and are "out of the game," usually due to medical reasons TTA = avoiding pregnancy by using protection or FAM, usually for non-health-related reasons __________________________________________________________________

Are you benched or TTA? As of Friday we are TTC! Previously we wanted to just NTNP this next cycle, but I stink at giving up control and we both knew I was tracking. Might as well call it cause we all know I'm gonna make him BD during the fertility window haha.

What brings you here? I just wanted to check in here one last time. I am so thankful for this check in. It gave me a place the last 8 months. I'll be rooting for you when I see you ladies over in WTO!

How long do you think you'll be here? I'm peacing out a month early.

How have things been going? I AM SO EXCITED. Clearly that is why I'm posting this at midnight on Sunday LOL

Any R/R/CS? Monday is my birthday and I took the day off to spend it with DS. We are having a zoo day and I can't wait.

GTKY (stolen from WTO): What was your favorite childhood game growing up? I loved the game of Life. I was always super sad if I didn't land on any of the "Had a baby" tiles.

How have things been going? Still here, still counting down the time, still wanting more kids.

Any R/R/CS? I had a co-worker tell me congratulations on being pregnant when I'm on CD 4 and just finishing my period, so... that was awesome. She got me confused with our other co-worker who is actually pregnant, and then commented on how I'm "just heavy". Thanks, you're a doll!
But I do love her, she just has some cultural differences, so I laughed it off. I'll probably eat my weight in ice cream later because that's how I fix problems lately.

Are you benched or TTA? Benched

What brings you here? Ovarian cysts and a possibly septate uterus

How long do you think you'll be here? Hopefully only 2 more weeks, but probably more like 1-2 more months.

How have things been going?
Insurance finally approved the MRI I need to dx or rule out septate uterus. So that's good.

Any R/R/CS?
My MRI is set up for Friday at 4:30. I'm nervous but DH will be going with me. I also hope that I can get the results the same day and talk with my RE the following Tuesday about next steps if it is septate. I would ultimately like to not wait a whole other cycle to have the surgery if it comes to that.

GTKY (stolen from WTO): What was your favorite childhood game growing up?
My brother and I played cards ALL the time. Mostly rummy but anything really. It was a good thing to pass time while we sat around waiting on my dad all the time.

@izza2 I'm so sorry you had to go through such an uncomfortable moment! Sounds like you were a good sport about it, though! Way to laugh it off!
@paigeed I don't know what a septate uterus is, but it sounds scary! I'll be thinking of you and keeping my fx for good news!!

What brings you here? I was diagnosed with an ectopic cervical pregnancy, am not trying to heal emotionally and physically from this loss.

How long do you think you'll be here? Docs want me to wait 6 months before trying again, so looks like I'm benched for 6 months.

How have things been going? Hard. This pregnancy had a strong heartbeat and looked good, it just wasn't going to be good for me to continue with it. Emotionally, it's been very difficult. Physically, I feel fine, but I'm on modified activities until HCG goes down to 0. So overall, things have been hard.

Any R/R/CS? I'm on physical restrictions - no walking, no going out into the sun without proper protections (due to Methatrexate) and no sex (grrr) until I get clearance. I'm making friends with my couch, but at least I'm at home and not in a hospital!

GTKY (stolen from WTO): What was your favorite childhood game growing up? I used to love Red Rover! Looking back, we probably could have gotten pretty hurt, but it was still fun! Also, kickball! I could go for a game of kickball now (if I was allowed).

SS - benched from IF treatments

Next step is IVF. Moving and starting a new job and not sure if DH will be unemployed/for how long means we can't spend the money on IVF until we figure things out

I anticipate 4-6 months

My IF problem is unexplained bleeding. All my tests are normal so my doctors can't figure out the cause. I'm on CD12 now and have had bleeding/spotting every single day. If my body can't get it together I will have to go back on birth control pills because they are the only thing (besides Clomid + progesterone) that stops the bleeding. Even though we have practically no chance of success with NTNP, actually having to go back on BCP really upsets me.

What brings you here? My cycles seem to be back to normal since the MC, now just waiting on disability timeframe to line up. I decided after the MC it would be a good idea to have some disability available for future maternity leave.

How long do you think you'll be here? One more month.

How have things been going? Meh. I'm emotionally ready to start trying again, but we have to wait another month. If I happened to get pregnant this cycle I would give birth approx one week before disability benefits would be available. Ugh.

Any R/R/CS? My fertile widow is during DH's birthday in a few weeks AND we will be on vacation, but we can't try this month. I'm annoyed.

What brings you here? Finally got an actual diagnosis after last week's MRI, I've got a bulging disc (L4/L5).

How long do you think you'll be here? Not sure. I'm starting to feel better, so I think I'd be up for trying next week during my FW....but the last thing I need is to try to BD and pop that disc back out. DH will probably insist that we wait until I'm closer to 100%. He will probably be right haha.

How have things been going? The last 2 weeks of chiro treatment have really been helping. Still some sciatica stuff, but most of the acute back pain is gone.

Any R/R/CS? I'm in that dangerous transition part where most the pain is gone, so I feel like I can go back to normal life (ie. have sex), but my back is probably not ready for most normal life stuff (still can't even sit for more than 45 min without sciatica flare up). I know I need to be patient and let recovery be just that, but I want my life back....

How long do you think you'll be here? Optimistic that it won't be TOO much longer. A few weeks?

How have things been going? Meh. The many conflicting feelings are overwhelming. But I have more softer moments every day.

Any R/R/CS? Glad that the bleeding has stopped.

@Skyjewell23 Yay!! Congrats on moving to NTNP(ish)! So exciting.

@paigeed good luck on your MRI. I hate having to wait to get stuff approved from insurance. Not at all similar, but I had to wait like a month to get my IUD removed because insurance kept messing up and I was *so annoyed* having to deal with them. Congratulations on passing that bureaucratic hurdle!!

@lyndam1 - I am so sorry about your ectopic loss. I also just had an ectopic (tubal, not cervical) and the emotional healing part has been so tough...add in the physical restrictions and the whole thing is just so hard. Sending you lots of healing thoughts and prayers.

@ktcakes87 omg waiting for benefits to kick is the worst...and also why I'm staying at my current (high-stress, long hours) job. Solidarity!

@andipandi127 go easy on yourself...the emotional recovery can be such a rollercoaster (at least it has been for me). hugs!

What brings you here? ectopic + salpingostomy on 4/30

How long do you think you'll be here? 8.5 more weeks!

How have things been going? Also feeling super meh today. Things were going better, I was starting to feel better and all of a sudden yesterday the pain just got like crazy unbearable. Cramping, stabbing pains...but on the OTHER side (my ectopic was on the right, the pain is on the left). My doctor was very sure this is normal, but holy sh*t this is maybe the worst pain I've had in this whole experience (INCLUDING the day of the rupture). Ugh. I just want this experience to be over so badly, you know?

Any R/R/CS? See above for a rant about pain. I'm also still having major spotting. It hasn't really stopped in the last three weeks and it is *so* annoying. I'm hoping this means my next period won't be terrible, but I'm sick of the daily reminder.

GTKY (stolen from WTO): What was your favorite childhood game growing up? Definitely Clue. I loved that game (and the movie) more than anything. I also really liked word games (boggle, etc.)

How have things been going? Now that we are back and I can count down the weeks I feel like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Any R/R/CS? We just got back from our vacation yesterday and I am SO happy to be home! the vacation was great but I am totally a home body and am so happy to be back in cooler weather and my own bed

I've been feeling a bit more at peace about waiting during the first three weeks of my cycle each month but as AF nears I tend to lose my mind a bit and it's hard

Not only do the hormones make me more emotional but not being pregnant makes me really sad every time....which I know won't be easier when TTC but I feel like at least we'll be trying!!! AF is due any day and I just want to curl up in a ball and cry

Thanks for support everyone! To explain a septate uterus can cause recurrent miscarriages. Basically, when being created my uterus didn't form completely correctly (if I have this) and has a little bit of extra skin around the middle of my uterus. Causing issues with implantation and sustaining pregnancy. Again, they aren't sure if I have this yet though. That's what MRI will tell my RE.

What brings you here? MMC discovered 5/5 at almost 9 weeks, D&C on 5/10

How long do you think you'll be here? Hopefully only another 4 weeks - I am 2 weeks out from the D&C and she gave me 6 weeks before trying again, barring any stupidity from my cycles.

How have things been going? I've been okay, focusing on the blessings I see at the end of the day despite tragedy or nuisance. Bit then it hits me and I think.... I'm not pregnant anymore.. This sucks... We won't have a baby this Christmas.. And I cry.

Any R/R/CS? I'm eating less, working out more, just trying to be healthy, and I'm gaining weight still. I'm so upset that my blump is not a baby, but I try to pretend that there might still be a baby there and that is why I'm getting a little blump.. I need to do more about exercises maybe lol. I want to go workout later. My friends baby shower is today, and I'm so excited to go. I love her.

@Sugargirl1019 we were in Mexico, in the Cancun area! I did everything possible to avoid being bit (stayed out of the jungle, applied insane amounts of bug spray, ect.) and I still got eaten alive by the mosquitos Nobody else, including DH, has nearly as many bites as I got, ugh! I think I am going to call my OB and request a blood test for DH & I but neither of us has shown any actual symptoms of ZIKA so we are hopeful.

@paigeed FX for you that the MRI doesn't show septate uterus!

@rainbowturtles hoping your 3 months flies by for you and you get to enjoy your new place!

@sienac I just got back from Riviera Maya Monday and am not planning to wait. We never saw I bug (just some ants) so I feel very confident that we are both clean and good to go. I would definitely call for blood work if I were you though, I hope everything works out and you can start sooner than later

@crazypt2285 The craziest part about it is that I never saw ANY bugs while we were there either!! I just started scratching my foot one day and looked down to see a mosquito bite! I was so mad! Super excited for you though!! FX you get your BFP quickly!

Are you benched or TTA? Benched for now and then TTA once we get back from visiting the family in Guadalajara in a couple of weeks.

What brings you here? MMC in Feb. Did the whole waiting thing for 60 days to let my body go back to normal cycles. When that didn't work, I started the 5 days of progesterone. I think my body is just starting to get it back together, because my temps finally went up and FF has dotted CH for Wednesday of last week. If that's the case, which who knows.....my OPK's were all negative that entire week. But I am hoping that it's true and I really did O. lol. Means my body is getting some normalcy back. Woohooo!!!!

How long do you think you'll be here? hopefully only about 10 more weeks, but we'll see.

How have things been going? Surprisingly well. Spirits are really good right now what with these CH's appearing.

Any R/R/CS? None for right now.

I unfortunately am back after just recently graduating. I hope you ladies don't mind that I'm jumping in so quickly but in the short time I've been gone there are A LOT of names I don't recognize and I want to start to get to know everyone again.

Are you benched or TTA? Benched

What brings you here? Miscarriage started a few days ago (Wednesday, realistically) at about 6 weeks 4 days.

How long do you think you'll be here? Not sure yet. We plan to start trying again as soon as we are cleared, but we won't know when that will be until our appointment on Tuesday.

How have things been going? As well as can be expected. I had felt like things weren't right for a little while so we had some time to prepare and come to terms with everything. There have been a lot of tears and I'm sure there will be more, but I'm feeling as well as I could hope for.

Any R/R/CS? DH is a really emotional person and I was worried about how badly this would affect him, but so far he has been doing ok and I'm really proud of how he's handled things.
