Newborn Hair and Eye Color

STMs (and any FTMs who may have already experienced this), when did your LO's hair and eyes change, if they did? I know it can take up to a year for their eyes to change but I'm curious about people's experiences. I've also heard a lot of people say that their newborns hair changed color or fell out and grew back differently, was this true for you and when did it happen?

I'm so curious because my baby girl seems to have my blue eyes and strawberry blond/red hair all of her own and I wish I could know if it will stay.

My daughter's eyes were blue past her first birthday. Sometime after that, we started to notice they were changing around the edge. They turned green as could be for awhile, then evolved to a honey/ hazel color by her 3rd birthday!
I'm curious to see what will happen with my son!

I was born with blonde hair and blue eyes. The hair eventually started to get darker after a year (I was completely brunette by about age 2), but the blue eyes stayed. No idea what LO will look like when she's here or how long those features will stay, though I suspect she'll strongly take after DH (he has dark hair and eyes).

DS was born with dark blue eyes and dark brown hair. By 1 month, his hair lightened to the medium brown it stayed at (same as my husband's) and his eyes starts to lighten. By around 4 months, his eyes settled into the brighter gray-blue blue (denim color more or less) that they have stayed. For reference, DH has green eyes and lots of his family and a few in mine have the color blue that DS has.

DS2 was also born with dark hair and dark blue eyes. We'll see if his lightens also or if he'll be brown hair, browned eyed like his mama.

DS had dark brown hair and dark blue eyes at birth. His hair fell out and grew back a sandy blonde and his eyes are now light blue (at 2.5). DH has blue gray eyes and dark brown hair, but as a child he looks almost exactly like DS, so I suspect DS will eventually get the dark hair back.

DD was just born with the same dark brown hair and dark blue eyes. I'm kind of hoping she gets my green eyes and her dads dark hair stays. Only time will tell.

DS1 was born with really dark brown hair and dark blue eyes. By 2-3 months his eyes were brown and at 6 months his hair was blonde.

DS2 was also born with brown hair but I can already see the blonde directly beneath it. He has light blue eyes for now.

DH is blonde with green/blue eyes and I'm fakeish blonde/light brown with one brown eye and one hazel eye. DS1 has my eyes and a mix of our hair (color is DH but texture is me). I think this little guy is going to be really blonde though. I'm hoping he has DH's eyes.

DS was born with black hair like DH and dark blue eyes. His eyes started lightening up about 6 months in and by 1 year they were at the bright blue that they still are. His hair fell out, came back platinum blond, and has steadily darkened over the past 2 years. He's a dark brunette like me now, but I'm wondering if it's not going to continue to darken up. He's a spitting image of DH in every other way, so it wouldn't be surprising.

first had blonde hair and blue eyes never fell out or changed he is still blonde with blue eyes ! new baby is light brown with reddish tint and blue eyes I can't wait to see either of anything changes

I was born with black hair, by 6 months old it was so blonde it almost looked white. I think my eyes were blue at birth, they ended up being green. Curious to see what happens with my son! He's got brown hair blue eyes now but I can already tell his hair is lightening

I'm curious too. DD#1 was born withe brown eyes which obviously stayed. She had dark hair but it lightened a bit. Now it's brown with golden highlights. DD#2 has dark blue eyes. My hubby has blue eyes so he's hoping they stay blue. I'm wondering if they'll lighten up. They seem to be gray behind the blue. She has dark hair too. DH was expecting her to be a platinum blonde like he was as a kid even thought his hair is more of a light brown/dirty blonde now. The dr seems to think there's a good chance her eyes will stay blue. She has light eyebrows and eye lashes. So it will be interesting to see what happens. She has my tan skin.

Cole is almost 2 months now. His eyes are very clearly blue now and his hair is about 2 shades lighter than it was at birth. I'd say it all started at about a month or so.

DD was born with a full head of black hair and blue eyes. Her hair got progressively lighter and by a year she was dirty blond and has been ever since. Her blue eyes stayed. Daddy has brown eyes, and I was wishing for her eyes to stay blue

I was also born with black hair that turned blonde by one year. It'll be interesting to see what this LO looks like. By the amount of heartburn I'm having, I'm suspecting there will be lots of hair once again.

My baby has dark blue/gray eyes and his hair looks almost auburn to reddish at times. We too are wondering how he will look in a few months:)

DS didn't have any hair changes or any fall out and has been both my hair texture and color since the beginning. His eyes were the blue gray color for quite a while, I would say until six months when they turned more brown. He is 4 now and sometimes I see twinges of hazel. DH has very dark brown/black course hair (he's Cuban) and dark green eyes with some hazel. He is certain that his eyes turned greener as he got older but who knows. We both have blue eyes as a recessive trait so I'm curious what baby will end up with!!

My first's hair was brownish with blonde and red highlights and blue eyes. Blue eyes stayed and hair turned blonde to where it is today.
This baby has so much hair, brown with little bits of blonde, way more hair than baby #1, not sure what will happen with that yet and blue eyes.

DS1 had blonde hair and gray blue eyes. His hair darkened to light brown by age 1 and now it's more of an Auburn dark brown. He's 5 and it's been that way since he was 2-3. And his eyes changed to hazel around 3 months.

DS2 had brown eyes and black hair at birth. The hair fell out and turned light brown/blonde. Now he's 4 and his hair is medium brown and he still has the same brown eyes.

DS3 was born with brown eyes and blonde (reddish) hair. His hair is starting to darken a little to a lighter brown. And his eyes stayed brown.

DD was born bald and only started getting hair when she was over one year! Now its white blonde and her eyes have stayed blue-grey. Both DH and I had blonde hair when we were little - I have brown eyes and DH has green so I never pictured having a blue eyed child. We will see what happens with DS when he arrives.

Lurking from June. Both my kids came out with light brown baby fuzz hair. I would say around 4 months old is when the fuzz fell out and their platinum blonde came in. They both have very thick curly light blonde hair now. They both have had blue eyes since birth but they have gotten lighter. I don't think they will change though.

My Daughter has blue eyes for the first 6 months and then they changed to brown. But her hair stayed the same, and didn't fall out.

She's strawberry on top and has this hilarious mullet that's a little darker brown just at the neck and her eyebrows are platinum blond. We're both hoping she'll stay ginger like her mama. Her eyes are almost black so dark blue with a lighter grey blue center ring (DH has ice/grey blue eyes and I have darker blueberry blue so interesting to see where she'll land eventually)

Ezra's eyes have started to change- they were deep dark but bright ocean blue when he was born, now they're more a dark grey. DH has green eyes and I have brown eyes but I have close family with blue and green eyes, as does DH so we're very interested in what his eyes will eventually be.
as to his hair, he's 100% a towhead! Bright white blonde hair that still hasn't fallen out! In my family the sort of unofficial tradition is to let the baby decide when they're ready for their first haircut (usually around age three) so it's just gunna grow and grow!

By nearly a month, DS2's hair has lightened to closer to DH's shade of medium brown, his eyes have lightened to a gray-blue, and his skin tone is still a sort of rosy olive more like mine, but a bit fairer. I'm expecting his eyes to continue to change based on what we saw with DS.
