Does LO wake up at the same time in the morning?

So DD goes to bed about the same time every night. And she will wake 1-3 times at night to nurse. But then she is awake anytime from 6-8am. And will sometimes she will nurse or not. It just makes it hard to plan her morning nap and her feeding times. I guess she is not even five months months yet so I know she is still young for a schedule. But it would be nice if she woke the same time each morning. What about your little ones? Any advice on when to get them more on a routine?

I just don't plan anything. DD does not eat according to a schedule (she will eat every .5-3 hours) or nap according to one (she's awake for 1-3 hours between naps) regardless of waking up at the same time or not. How long she eats and sleeps is different every time too. Our wake up times vary between 6 and 8 as well. DD is 24 weeks old, she'll be six months old on  June 9. Schedules aren't for us but we have a loose one that we follow that obviously varies due to eating and sleeping times.
Personally I'd give up trying to plan ahead and go with the flow.

  • My son will be 6 months in June 9th as well.  He is either up once to nurse or occasionally sleeping through the night.  He goes down around 8:00 or 8:30 but wakes up any where around 7:00-8:30 am.  I go by awake time rather then scheduled naps.  For his first nap it's about 2 hrs after he woke up and his second nap is around 3 hrs after he woke from his 1st nap.  He naps 2-2.5 hrs each nap so he usually only naps twice (switched from 3 about 2 weeks ago).  I also try and get 3-4 hrs between his last nap wake up and bedtime.  It works for us but sometimes is hard to schedule things around a non set nap time.

My daughter will be 5 months on the 30th. She usually does go to sleep and wake at the same time. Goes to sleep at 7:30pm wakes at 5:00am

Right now I don't plan anything I just make sure I do bath time at night everyday so she knows that maybe it's bath and bedtime? I usually dim the lights and turn down the tv and rock her to sleep. When she wakes first thing in the morning I take my morning jog with the stroller. Everyone has their own ways of doing things. There really isn't much I do lol.

  • My LO wakes up between 6am-7am for the day. However, she always wakes up around 1am and 4am for a feed.
  • DD wakes up around 6am every day, regardless of when she went to bed and whether she woke up once in the night or every hour. Usually she wakes up once around 3am or twice at 1am and 4am.  We try to encourage her to nap around 8am, 1pm and 5pm since that's when she seems tired, but we don't really push.  I've been trying to get her to nap later- closer to 9am and 2pm so we can eventually drop the evening nap, but it always depends on her mood. DH is also SAHD, so it also depends on how consistent he is :)  She'll be six months on June 2nd.

    This is us too!
  • My LO wakes between 5-6 every day, she goes to bed at 6, probably because she only takes very short naps! She usually naps 1.5 hrs after waking.

My son goes to bed between 6:30-7:30pm. Moves around to nurse around 3 am (lately 12:30a also I'm assuming due to teething) wakes up 5-6am. I also go by awake times of 2 hours. So his naps are around 8 am, 11 am and 2pm. He usually naps around an hour/1and a half. I'll drop the 3rd nap when he starts napping longer on his own.

ETA he will be 6 months on the 2nd.
  • My 5 month old goes to sleep at 10:30-11pm, wakes up for a feeding between 1-3 am and is up for the day at 7:30am. (She has a good morning nap also). I used to try to schedule and plan, but as she grows her schedule changes on its own, so I just have to be ready at any given moment.

My LO (20 weeks) goes to bed at 8pm and wakes around 7ish every morning. Since she was 8 weeks she's went to bed at the time, she used to wake at 5am but never wanted a feed sl we just kept giving her a dummy and overtime she increased her waking up time.  We don't follow a strict routine, bedtime I'd always around 8pm, otherwise I follow her lead for when she's needing a nap, fed etc.  X
