    Water

edited to add: Drink the water don't rub it on your belly. I think staying hydrated is the most you can do to help. Unfortunately stretch marks are genetic and no amount of cream is going to make a difference (except with itichiness, I'm told)
I second all of this.  My doc told me stretch marks start in deeper layers of skin than creams can affect, so the creams won't prevent them.  Hydration can help but genetics is a huge factor.

  • I rubbed coconut oil from boobs to upper thighs twice a day starting at 13 weeks pregnant. Not a single stretch mark on my belly. Once my milk came in, my boobs were a roadmap.

    It's genetic.
  • All genetic. I still used Arbonne's Firming Body Cream last time and will do it again this time.

  • I'll use coconut oil to combat itchy over stretched skin but ditto pp re: genetics, unfortunately

I did not know this, and I'm pleased with finding out its genetic. Good to know about the itchy part though... I have a feeling that's going to be a thing

Yeah I got lucky on the stretch marks, but the belly butter did help keep my skin from itching and drying out. Even though it won't prevent them I'll use it again this time around.

I slathered myself with cocoa butter during my entire first pregnancy, and praise God I got through it with zero stretch marks. My mom also didn't get stretch marks from any of her pregnancies, but my sister did, so....
I don't know. I'll be drinking a lot of water and greasing up with lots of cream again.

  • Like others have said, it's all genetic. But the itchiness. Oh man. Vaseline was a live saver with the itching.
