  • I don't know if this could be considered Twatwaffle, but I just need to bitch and I'm currently calling this girl a twatwaffle cause she's pissing me off!

So I've been training my replacement for the past month, and it's like it's her first day everyday!! She's so slow and can't even figure out a simple fax/copy machine. My supervisor keeps telling me to give her more responsibilities, but there's no way I'm going to do that if I can't even trust her to do the simple tasks. If she messes up, it still comes back on me. I have a good working relationship with my therapists and doctors I work with, I'm not going to mess that up because of this incompetent girl that just graduated college and can't follow simple directions. I have no idea how this girl graduated college! My coworkers keep saying that they're going to kill her when I leave and that I can only take a week off because they don't have the patience for her, especially for 12 weeks. I really feel like I'm going to go off on her if I have to repeat myself one more time on something I've shown her how to do a dozen times, especially because she writes down every single word that I say.....yet I have never seen her refer back to her notes when doing something. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm a twatwaffle. Or at least, this stupid sickness I have is. Daughter brought home something from daycare that makes my throat feel like broken glass and a wicked cough that won't go away.
Also, this fetus. For staying breech. Tomorrow will discuss 'next steps' with my midwife, but pretty sure at this point it's going to be "let's schedule a section".
  • @Lyette1206  Have you tried spinning babies or going to the chiropractor? How far along are you? Sometimes they like to wait til the last min to flip.Hope you feel better, too!

I'll call DH my TW today. A mild TW, but still a TW. We finished all our baby classes last night (with a little over 3 weeks before my due date) and he complained the whooooole time. All 18 hours worth of classes we've taken in the last week (plus some not in class whining). He just came home from deployment, so it's not like I could spread them out.

I'm also still adjusting to having 2 people's worth of chores around the house with little help from him and I'm starting to feel overwhelmed. I texted him briefly about it this morning, so we'll see what changes, but last night/this morning alone he's left his dishes in the sink, ate what I had planned to be my lunch at work today, forgot to turn off the lights in the bedroom when he was done after I asked him repeatedly, and while he did remember to close the hall door he had inadvertently closed the dog in our bedroom. Luckily, I went back and checked so he doesn't destroy half our house while we're both at work today.

It's soooo true that readjusting after deployment is the hardest part.

I've had this exact same problem with my temp replacement. For the last month when he asks a question I've literally answered a dozen times, my new response has been "please refer to your notes". I had to eventually just stop helping him and MAKE him learn and figure shit out on his own, and then when he screws up, make him be the one to fix it because otherwise it won't sink in

Hang in there! It took my H and I about 3 months to readjust when he came back from deployment. I was so ready to call it quits so many times when he came back home. You're both in independent mind frames and used to doing things your own way. It will work out, just communicate and give it time. Good luck!

Thanks. We've already learned a lot from the last deployment. For example, I made it a point to not have him do any chores or tasks when he first got home so he could transition back to home life even though I REALLY could use a break. But he's been back a week now, so time is up. He knew all along that he would have to hit the ground running when he got home and unfortunately my expectations of how that would manifest itself have been a little too high, leaving me kind of disappointed as a result. We'll get through it and this reintegration is already better than the last one. I'm just in the thick of it right now.

  • People are TW. I'm getting very mad and tired of hearing the questions and comments of,"Not much longer!""I bet you're ready for him to be here!" Na duh people! Stop reminding me I have time left, just shut up and let me be.

I have another TW, the mountain lion that keeps getting spotted in our neighborhood. Thanks mountain lion, I wanted to take my children outside because they are driving me nuts today : /
  • I was going to say my parents... but, I'll go with my mood swings, instead, because I'm trying to recognize that I'm probably just overreacting about the stupidest things. My parents watch my kids, so I am probably just super ungrateful for even getting irritated... but, today my mom sent a pic of my kids and niece playing with MY diaper bag and said "Oops, they are obsessed with the hand sanitizer". I literally just bought new little hand sanitizers to go on the bag so we would have it available, and I can't help but think, you took a picture?! Of kids wasting my brand new hand sanitizer... instead of stopping them...?!

Then, my dad had to get my son dressed because he peed on the outfit I put him in initially (Don't even get me STARTED on potty training hell with my 4 year old...) and I notice in my mom's pic that my son is wearing a pajama shirt... I've told my father OVER and OVER that the top drawer is pajamas... He has three drawers: top is left side LS pajamas, right side SS pajamas, middle is left side pants, right side short and bottom is left side LS shirt, right side SS shirts... he "couldn't find a short sleeve shirt"... The entire right half of the bottom drawer is short sleeves... there are like probably 30 of them. It's a small dressed. Where in the F was he looking?!

Ok, just tell me I'm being a pregnant hormonal B, so I can get over it now... I'm not really mad, just really, really confused...

    *Stuck in the box*
Seeing a chiropractor twice a week, was doing accupuncture as well. Trying lots of exercises and still no movement (flipping movement I mean, plenty of movement from baby). My daughter was breech as well, so we've discussed the possibility of it being related to my anatomy. Last time I tried an ECV before ending up with a Csection. This time they likely won't try one because of my previous section. I'm 36 weeks, so athough there's "still time to turn", with every thing including my previous history, it looks like they'll be booking a Csection again.

This part made me chuckle. I have this same frustration with my husband and my mom when she takes care of my 3-year-old. They are incapable of figuring out the difference between pajamas and regular clothes for my son, even though everything is separated out. It happens so much I started to find it comical. Like, in addition to the pajamas being in a separate drawer, folded together with the matching bottoms (because otherwise, DH would NEVER figure out which match), do they think that I dress my son in such form-fitting shirts on the daily? Plus, the kid knows where everything is... could they ask him?

@BPaisley and @alileecam I also get annoyed that I seem to be the only one who can tell the different between my son's pajamas and his regular clothing.  Protip people: the fact that a shirt is skin tight, covered in dinosaurs wearing pajamas and has matching shorts that look like boxer briefs was a subtle hint that it wasn't meant to be worn to the grocery store.  I also have a system for my son's dresser.  Pajamas in the top drawer, socks and underwear in the next one, then pants or shorts, then shirts.  Each weekend, I check our schedule and weather and put the clothes he should wear each day, including socks, underwear and a hoodie in a plastic container labeled with the days of the week.  And you STILL can't get him dressed???

And yes, I know I'm OCD.  I still lay my clothes out the night before so I'm sure I have everything ready to go because my mornings are so rushed there is no time for having to run around and look for the right cami to wear under the dress I wanted to wear.

Also on my TW list today? People. Pretty much all of them.  I wish I could just hang out in a dark room with my comfy pajamas, some iced tea and my tablet until this baby is ready because I'll be lucky to make it to the end of this with any friends, family or a job left with the mood I'm in and I'm trying but I have no patience.

Re: the pajamas...so funny.  Last night my mom went to pick my husband up from the train, and I told my 9 yo son to go with her so he could hop out & grab hubby.  My son was already in pajamas, and my mom said, "he can't go out, he's in PJs..."  Um.  Sure he can.  He's 9.  I don't care.
  • @alileecam @alitria Ugh, yes, exactly! My same thought... like, you see matching shorts directly under this rather tight shirt and that didn't key you into the fact that these are made for sleep? And I am fairly certain my 4 year could also easily direct him to the right shirts... and probably with more common sense!!

    @alitria
I think I might need to get to your level of OCD for my last few weeks of this pregnancy and sort out all outfits the night before, for everyone's sake. I realize getting angry is silly, so I'm really not mad. I'm just blown away by the challenge of something that seems so simple and logical...

And don't even get me started on my mom dressing them. She at least has common sense, but fashion sense? Absolutely not. What goes better with navy shorts than a shirt that is ALSO navy, but a slightly different shade. My kids are either navy or khaki blobs most days when she is in charge...

@rosehip15 LOL, I agree that children can get away with wearing pajamas whenever. We regularly spend weekend days without bothering to dress our children anymore, until we leave the house. There is just something about changing out of pajamas, only to put them in another pair of pajamas (unless it's bedtime) that is driving me mad.

Oh normally, I don't consider PJs to be daytime attire.  ESPECIALLY for a 3rd grader.  I am just so beyond caring at this point in pregnancy.  If everyone's alive, uninjured and reasonably clean, I'm calling it a win.
  • My OB's office/appointment today is my TW. I purposefully schedule my appts in the morning to avoid them being behind schedule when I get there, and the board showed all the OBs on time today. My three year old usually has to come with me to my appts, which is unfortunate, but he's pretty well behaved through them. After waiting 20 minutes after my original appt time, I checked in with the receptionist again (they've failed to check me in properly before), and I'm told it will be five more minutes. Ten minutes later, we finally get called back, and the nurse spends five minutes getting my weight, BP, and asks a few routine questions. We're them left for over fifteen minutes before the OB finally comes in. This is an OB that I've waited my entire pregnancy to get an appt with because he's recommended for twin pregnancies. He's with me five minutes before he has to leave to search for an ultrasound machine to check the babies' positions and heartbeats. Another fifteen minutes goes by (over an hour since my original appt time started), and I have to flag the nurse down in the hallway to ask what's taking so long and should I just reschedule today's appt? She says they can't find one of two US machines that are usually in the hallway, but she apologizes. Great, but my toddler is ready to be done. Ten more minutes pass before both the US machine and my OB show up in my room. He quickly scans for both babies, asks if I have any more questions, and when I tell him I'd been told I was going to be tested for GBS today, he disappears again for fifteen more minutes! Him and the nurse return for the GBS swab, and I'm finally released to go with instructions to start scheduling weekly OB appts. Grrr! It was so frustrating to receive such poor care when I'd heard such great things about this OB.

My swole as shit feet and ankles are twatwaffles. They look ridiculous.
And anyone who asks me incredulously, "You are still pregnant??? Doesn't it seem like you've been pregnant forEVER???" gets a stamp on their dumb forehead that says TWATWAFFLE.
