Share Your Pregnancy Logging/Charting Books!

I know in a couple of the “randoms” and other threads, we’ve discussed scrapbooking and pregnancy logging books, but I thought it might be fun to have a discussion/thread dedicated to it.

Is anyone doing anything fun with theirs? Any pregnancy logging books you highly recommend or would NOT recommend?

  • @canavara , LOVE the idea of starting an email..!! Good one!

I bought a "pregnancy journal" online. I chose it because of its gorgeous illustrations and its VERY loose prompts...just short words at the top or bottom of a blank page where I can write whatever I want. It's not for folks who don't enjoy writing, and it's not for folks who want something scrapbook-y....but I love it! Here is a link:

  • @kellybean1988 That book is beautiful! Really like the line art it has--so much better than some of the campy clip-art in other books.

Maybe I'm just too new to this, but I have no idea what I'd want to journal... I'm very interested in scrapbooking once baby is here though and that can totally include a couple belly pics.

  • I used "The Belly Book" during my last pregnancy and I loved it, so I bought it again for this pregnancy.  I like having a page dedicated to each week's belly photo.  Yeah, it starts at week 1, as mentioned above, but you can simply skip those first few weeks...really not a big deal imo.  I have photocopies of all my daughter's ultrasounds in there - it's a great momento.

I also love the email address idea.  I waited until my daughter was born to create her a personalized email address for later in life - I will have to start sending her things to open when she's older!

  • I bought the "Expecting" journal from BabiesRUs.

It's very flirty and girly, but I kinda like how bright and hopeful it is. It shuts down the PGAL brain and lets me feel happy and excited about this time.

  • I'm so bad about journaling/scrap booking. I was given a few when I was pregnant with DD and filled in a few pages and that was it. I eventually made a shutterfly book. They have some cute templates to document pregnancy. I also haven't done well with DD's baby book. I have like 4 different ones and haven't done much. I need just one and to focus. It gives me anxiety that I haven't done very much. I do keep a journal for her and did one of those milestone calendars for her first year.
  • Sending your baby emails is such a wonderful idea!!
  • These are the ones I have. I didn't want anything cheesy, and was psyched to get theses. They're quirky and fun. Highly recommend.

I love the email idea, @canavara!

@gonetothesea Both of those are on my Amazon wish list! I've been trying to decide whether to get them or not.

They're so good, @lecool! The listography one doesn't have too much you can fill out while you're pregnant, but it'll be a lot of fun to write in once the baby is here.  And the 40ish weeks journal has a lot of space to journal (which I like) and it has fun little subsections to fill out.  They're both cute and quirky and I love them.

I was on the fence about the Listography one but I just checked it out on Amazon and looked at the table of contents and it looks awesome! I really like all the unconventional lists they have... "A list of my parenting mishaps", "A list of changes I hope the world makes in your lifetime", "A list o things you pretended to do and to be" -- so sweet. I think my only fear with that one would be filling it out too soon and not having room for all the new things as they grew older :)
  • I bought one called Expecting You, but I haven't written in it yet. This is only my first pregnancy but my mom suffered a MC before me and I want to wait until after my first appt before I start.
