Symptom Check in 5/23

Hi all,

Figured I'd start this today, I don't think it's been done in a week or so (correct me if I'm wrong)?

I was so light headed this morning I had to take a bath instead of a shower this morning. And then I threw up.

How's everyone else doing?

Oh and rib pain - hurts to breathe, but I read it's your lungs moving to accommodate your lungs down the road... I'm going to check on that at my appointment this week.

@cagirl18 - oh, the joys of pregnancy!

16w1d - I am tired, tired, tired. I stayed up til 2am Friday & Saturday nights cause of weddings we went to and I felt hungover each of the next mornings, wtf.

I am already stuffed up due to allergies but now I am even more congested lately.

  • 12w5d and earlier I got sooooo dizzy. That hasn't happened since my first few weeks.

Unrelated, but my allergies are killing me and it sucks not being able to take a decongestant and I was miserable last night
  • I'm 15+5 today and feeling pretty great except I am still so tired. I was hoping to get some energy back in second tri but it hasn't happened yet, I still need to nap every day.
  • loko08loko08 member
Is it bad I'm glad I'm not the only one? ;)

Everyone keeps telling me that second tri is when I'll be glowing and feeling amazing and like I can take on the world. Well, it can hurry itself up and get here now!
    <BabyFetus Ticker >
  • Yes because I'm so tired all day every day. I wake up, have breakfast and want a nap.
  • Oh, and nosebleeds.  Can't forget those.  Woke up at 2 a.m. Saturday morning with a gusher.

Where is the second trimester glow and energy?????  haha
  • I'm 16 wks today and I feel good but my bump feels very full....like I need for room which is crazy bc I still have a ways to go. Other than that my hair feels thicker..my skin not glowing like they claim lol waiting for this prego acne to start calming down.

I have a little more energy but I still puke sometimes and I fall asleep most nights by 10:00 haha
  • I'm also feeling good at 15w1d. Just a little tired and a slight headache but otherwise really good. And I agree @Chris86Chapman, I feel really full already too - especially after a meal!
  • My head hurts more often than not. I'm still fighting waves of nausea here and there. I'm an emotional mess and cry for no good reason at the drop of a hat. Oh and between food restrictions(gluten free on top of the normal pregnancy no-nos) and the food aversions that pop up mid meal I pretty much can't eat ANYTHING!
  • @tigerfish227 Are you gluten free because of dietary reasons or allergy reasons? I know a lot of people are GF for dietary reasons and if so, it may be time to let that go!

Honestly, I don't know how you're surviving without carbs right now, it's basically my main food group these days.
  • I tested negative for Celiac's but my RE thinks I may still have an intolerance and that it could have contributed to my recurrent losses. I started gluten free the day after my bfp and I'm really struggling with it. Annie's gf Mac and cheese has been a staple for me but it's faster to find things to eat when I have so many restrictions and nothing sounds good anyways. I would do just about anything right now for a Jimmy John's sandwich!
  • loko08loko08 member
@tigerfish227 that sounds horrible, I am so sorry. Food aversions are tough, and so much tougher when you are already restricted. Do you have a bunch of restaurants/take out options nearby for when things get overwhelming?

I'm not gluten free, but I am craving Jimmy John's basically all.the.time. I've caved once or twice and it came right back up. Doesn't stop the cravings though!
    <BabyFetus Ticker >
  • I have a few staples but it's tough when we have my stepsons and they don't have restrictions and want to go somewhere like IHOP where I can pretty much choose from eggs, eggs or eggs and eggs make me want to vomit!

It really sucks basically having to make 2 meals for dinner every night.
  • Today I'm 12+2...I feel okay but I am hotly annoyed at my step son, and he hasn't really done anything wrong. I think it's his snarkyness that makes me want to punch him in the throat.

Other than that I get waves of nausea from time to time, and luckily I haven't thrown up at all this pregnancy  (albeit incredibly close at times during first trimester).

I'm usually in bed by 8. Up 2 or 3 times during the night to pee.

I also need maternity clothes which are hard to find in plus size. Boo.
  • This morning I got the best of both first and second trimesters... Dizziness and throwing up when brushing my teeth. Constipation and gas have also come back in full force this morning. I'm so glad SO is out of town so he didn't have to witness any of that this morning.

@tigerfish227 check out Bread SRSLY, their kale sourdough bread is amazing (kind of expensive as gluten free stuff is, but honestly it's the first bread I've wanted to make a sandwich with since my diagnosis). They're based in northern CA but they ship (and sell at a few stores out of their region). Also, I am stocked up on Glutino Gluten-free crackers (I like the original flavor). I usually put a slice of cheddar on them. They saved me during the super nauseous days. I have tried a lot of the gluten free crackers and these are the only ones I've liked so far.
  • I am tired and hate the idea of chocolate which is weird because I'm a chocoholic but the weirdest "symptom" is that on pelvic rest i managed to develop something similar to tendonitis in my knee. I went to the dr and they said all the hormones are relaxing my joints and there is absolutely nothing they can do for me. Everyone asks me how I hurt myself....sitting on the couch. So dumb. but i discovered the awesomeness of KT tape.

  • I now have stretch marks. Does that count as a symptom? I'm actually feeling pretty good,  but like @Chris86Chapman said,  I feel full. Or something. I don't know,  it's like I'm just imagining all my organs being squished....but it's mostly just in the mornings when I wake up and my bladder and ute are battling it out for space in there.

Sore boobs, some indigestion, some tiredness even when I get 8+ hours of sleep...
    But nausea is gone...finally!!
  • @bzzrbee28 at least you didn't actually break a bone and have no story to tell. I have a broken toe(started hurting almost 6 weeks ago) and absolutely zero recollection of injuring it. Now I'm walking around in a boot for at least another 2 weeks but with all the hormones and working retail(on my feet all the freaking time) the Dr isn't sure I'm going to be out of the boot at that point either.

14+2 my bump has popped up out of nowhere! And my boobs are growing out of control. My hair feels thicker and lush. But my skin is like the Sahara desert. I've been having some serious food aversions and some serious cravings. All I want is mashed potatoes.
  • tigerfish227 Oh man!!! That is crazy! Why can't our toes/knees get the memo that we are already going through a lot. I hope you get out of that boot soon!

  • I'm 16+1 and still throwing up, skin is awful, extremely constipated, headaches almost daily, tired all the time and to top it off super moody and emotional cry at everything (not normal at all don't express emotion very well). Joys of pregnancy

I'm 13+3 and I've definitely been feeling better. But last night we were eating dinner quickly standing at the kitchen island (we were rushing out for errands), and suddenly I got super nauseous and had to sit down. So not quite out of the woods.
  • @lrg14 totally off topic but I have to say that I think you and I might need to become friends... GO BEARS! I get a little excited every time I see your avatar.  :#
  • 16+3 and I'm overall feeling pretty good. I still only want carbs and cheese, but I am adding vegetables back to my daily diet, which is good! I felt my first twinges of sciatica yesterday and a burning pain in my lady bits took my breath away yesterday - I can't remember what that is RLP? Whatever it is, I hope it doesn't come back!

  • @MrsBigTime RLP sucks! I get it when I move too quick, like standing up or turning. Sharp, shooting pain for a few seconds like I pulled a muscle. Luckily it doesn't last too long but the other day I felt like I was recovering from an intense ab workout!
  • I'm 16+4. I really just want to poop normally again. I've been really tired the last few days... I was hoping for that burst of energy everyone talks about but I can't seem to find it... Also, the headaches are really bad. My dr told me try Tylenol first, if that doesn't help then drink a little caffeine. It seems to do the trick the few times I've done that.

I am exhausted!  All the time, no matter how much sleep I get.  I'm getting headaches pretty much every day and am dealing with near fainting spells.  Just having a blast over here.

@tigerfish227 yes go Bears!!! I'm a little sad that I miss many beers during football season this year.

Also I guess I spoke to soon earlier. Twice today I got light headed, blurry vision and felt like I would faint until I sat down. Once was during a meeting with a client and my boss. So glad I told my boss that I was pregnant last week. I'm really hoping today was just a fluke.
  • 13 weeks 2 days and my sciatica is absolutely brutal. It started a few weeks ago which is earlier than it started with ds. I'm totally exhausted and bedtime is typically right after ds goes down around 7:30. My nips are ridiculously sore most days, I still have more food aversions than cravings and my libido is still pretty much non existent. My poor DH... He handles it well but I just feel terrible.
  • @lrg14 but yay for maternity leave during football season right? I work retail and typically watch the games on DVR after the fact. Actually gonna get to watch some games live this year!!
  • lrg14lrg14 member
@tigerfish227 that didn't even occur to me! DH actually already got me a bears maternity tshirt that I can't wait to rock.
  • Coca cola, ladies. Use it for the headaches.
  • I woke up so dizzy this am!  Wth? I also felt like I had a fever but I didn't.  I also have diarrhea but I'm sure that's due to my recent dairy binge.  I want dairy so bad, but my body hates it!!! Dizzy is new to me though.  My first thought was to come here to find out if it was normal.  I literally had no symptoms with my first.
    Thanks for being here ladies!

  • Mega heartburn. I barely ever had it before, and now it's a daily thing. Ugh.
  • I don't know if I'm sleeping on my arm wrong lately, but every morning for the last week I can barely make a fist with my right hand because it hurts so much. It feels swollen and the ligaments are sore. Ugh.
