Ladies help me

I'm 35 weeks and yesterday seemed like a calm day so me and my hubby took our boat put on the lake.  Well there were tons of fast boats out so it was more waves than we thought. Was a rough ride home. Anyway.i cramped consistent all night unless I was asleep. At 4 am I timed 3 at 7 min apart but then they got spaced put again and I went back to sleep. Woke back up this morning still crampy in my back and had a couple of good ones I had one then timed one 9 min later, then 5 min later.. now they are spacing out again like 15 to 20 min. No bloody show or water break. I live 45 min from hospital and my dr. I just don't know what I'm feeling. I  know time increments are all over the board but it's for sure been a consistent feeling of I'm about to start my period especially in my back..  is this worth a call to the dr.or trio to hospital  Or maybe I'm just looking to into it??

I'd say it's worth a call to the doctor, if only to reassure you.  It could be the earliest stages of your body starting to go into labor or it could be just your body complaining about overdoing it.  If you can do the whole drink water/lay on your left side and try to relax, that should help you with figuring out if they're going to become more regular or just keep happening randomly.  But at 35 weeks, it's better to check in with your doctor who knows you and your medical history and can give you the advice they follow in their practice.  It could be they send you in to get checked so they can give you something to stop labor from progressing if it is starting, rather than having you wait until it's too late to slow things down.

With my first, they were telling me I wasn't in labor and I kept feeling like something was happening.  Turns out, I was in labor and I was having back labor.  It's hard as a first time mom because you feel like you don't want to be the crazy lady and you don't know for sure exactly what labor will feel like, but don't be afraid to call your doctor because you're the one with a baby inside you!  It's much easier to stop preterm labor if you go in early than if you wait.  Once your water breaks there isn't much they can do, and the doctor can give you advice on where they draw that line.  I had my son early, so this time I've been very well drilled in when and why to call the doctor so they have time to try to intervene. If nothing else you could go ahead and get your GBS test if you haven't already.  Mine is scheduled for tomorrow and that's the day I hit 35 weeks.

When in doubt call. It could be nothing or it could be early labor. They are there to answer you questions and essentially work for you. Better safe than sorry.

  • this happened to me at 35 weeks as well except I was bleeding a small amount and my contractions hurt so bad they were making me vomit. mine were spaced between 15-20 min apart starting at 530am. I tried everything, walking, eating, drinking, trying to sleep. they wouldn't go away. I called my doctor around 4 who told me to go to l&d. once they placed an Iv in me, and gave me a shot to help the contractions all was well. I would def. call your doctor.

  • Sounds like how I did when I overdid it but I called the midwife just in case. Better safe than sorry.
  • I called, they had me come in and hooked me up to the machines, I was only having small contractions so I can't imagine real ones!! I got my gbs test and there was no dialation so false alarm.. but Atleast I kinda know what to look for now  . Thanks ladies
