Well transfer day did not go as planned. My transfer was scheduled for 3:15 and i needed to be at the clinic by 2:45. I was planning on having a leisurely lunch, going to acupuncture and then to the clinic. about 3 hours before my transfer i got a call from the clinic confirming my transfer at 2 o'clock, when i told them no it was for 3:15 they said that they had to change the time, now my clinic has been notorious for a complete lack of communication so i went a little insane asking why no one bothered to call me and that someone should have called the day before meanwhile the lady fumbled through a pointless apology and said there was nothing she could do the Dr's schedule was full for the day. I proceeded to hang up on her and then started crying because the new transfer time was during my acupuncture appt. while i was being crazy my husband called and was able to get the acupuncture appt moved earlier, we had to then rush out of the house and go get lunch and then get to the appt. I was then again disappointed at the RE office as he didn't even take any time to talk to use before the procedure just said, "really great looking embryo" and we got going to business. the whole procedure maybe lasted 10 minutes at the very most. and we were not given a picture of the embryo we did thankfully get at least a first ultrasound picture and left the building PUPO. BETA is for 5/28, since they are closed for the holiday they are actually moving up the BETA instead of waiting till the tuesday after. My mom is in town because DH had to go back to work straight the next 7 days and she is being a little crazy, will barely let me get off the couch or even sit upright. I of course am going a bit stir crazy. I am not sure how to even feel today, i don't want to even get excited that maybe i am pregnant but at the same time i don't want to be quite so cold to the whole experience. But on the bright side i only have a 1 week wait instead of the dreaded two.
I hope everyone else's transfers are going great!

@kjplaza sorry about the RE's office and their lack of communication. Adding on to your stress is not something you need and they should know that. On another note Congrats on being PUPO. Glad your mom will be able to take care of you. Try getting an adult coloring book and watch cartoons and movies. That will help the time go by!
@kjplaza I am SO sorry that they did not communicate with you! How rotten to turn what should be beautiful and relaxing into a stress! So glad you are PUPO now though!

@dragonfaerie you're going in for your beta today right? Good luck!!!
Time is dragging by for me waiting on transfer day! I'm back on PIO as of last night and it's not as sore this go round; hoping it won't itch as bad either. I had an ultrasound yesterday and lining is looking good according to my clinic. My RE was out of office yesterday so one of the RNs did my ultrasound. She did say that if my PIO continued to bother me they can try a different compound. Right now I am prescribed the one in sesame oil, there is one in cottonseed oil that they said is supposed to be pretty easy on the body. Anyway, so the nurse asked me yesterday how many embryos I wanted to transfer, when I told her one her response was "just one?" just like the RE last week. I asked her if I should be considering two and her response is that my RE is still pretty old school and likes to transfer 2, but there's no reason why one wouldn't be just as successful. So now I'm stuck with a decision that I have to make by Tuesday. I don't know what I should do ladies. I want have the highest chance of success for the transfer, but I also don't want to risk multiples. What would you guys do?
@dragonfaerie Lots of positive thoughts your way today!
As of yesterday i've noticed large bruises and hard spots from the PIO as well as numbness going down my hips and butt and i've only had to do 9 shots! The actual shot never bothers me, i cant even feel them anymore and i do my best to massage them out afterward but clearly i'm not doing enough. Even though i am only 4dpt i am getting eager to POAS i just want to know whats going on in there!

@kjplaza I had a lot of dizziness as well and my nurse told me that progesterone pills are notorious for causing that. I would get a dizzy spell once or twice a day since I was taking the pills 3 times a day and they all stopped once I stopped those pills.

@jenn6782 I am, thank you! My itchy welts from the PIO didn't show until I'd been on it for over a week. Hopefully you won't get a reaction! We decided to just do one embryo because we wanted to decrease our chances of twins. Our clinic actually prefers to just do one, though they will transfer two if you reeeeeeally want.
@kjplaza I had huge bruises that were black and some very lovely knots from the PIO as well. The numbness is a little weird...make sure you aren't hitting your sciatic. If you can handle a "deep" massage on the knots, it does help relax them.
@thucks Just let your body rest up, I'm sure that you are okay. I hope you can take a nap today! And thank you!

@dragonfaerie When I did my mock cycle a few weeks ago I did PIO too and I didn't get the welts and itchiness until after a week of being off of it. I had to use benadryl cream several times a day. It was not a fun experience, so I'm hoping that this go round will be easier since it's been easier on my bum so far as far as the soreness goes.
@kjplaza have you tried using a heating pad or taking a hot shower right after the PIO? That seems to help me a little.
@jenn6782 I'm glad you aren't as sore! Some days seem to be worse than others for me, I definitely can't do tight jeans cuz the waistband just cuts into those bruises and kills!

Quick question ladies. My work just asked me if I can travel for work around June 13/14. My FET is this Thursday and my first beta is 6/6. Of course I'm hoping for a BFP, but do you think if I get a BFP it would be ok for me to fly so soon? I would be flying from CA to NC.
@jenn6782 you'll be fine to fly. I flew about 3 days after I got my official bfp. The only time I wasn't allowed to fly was when I had an ectopic and my RE wouldn't let me fly to Germany. He said it's too risky flying over an ocean. But otherwise you can fly pretty late into your pregnancy actually.
@Drove2u Thank you for that info. I'm just worried because at one of my appointments I overheard the nurse tell another patient that my RE doesn't want any of his patients doing air travel in their first trimester. It would be a pretty important business trip and I prefer to not have to tell my work no, but then it's not worth something happening to the baby so I'm stuck on the decision making.
@jenn6782 My RE said no flying, but driving is okay. We have a family birthday in June, but we decided to just say that we couldn't go because I didn't want to drive 8 hours. And they actually prefer us not to travel far away in the first two months. I think it really depends on your RE unfortunately.

@jenn6782 my RE is ok with flying once you get your beta results. I just flew last week and I'm only at beta #2. I have another scheduled trip next week where I'll be flying to Europe and they told me it's fine as long as I walk around the plane every hour or two to get the blood flowing.

@dragonfaerie I agree, the thought of being so far does make me a bit worried. Also, I just remembered, my RE will have me continue PIO and Estrodial for the first trimester, and right now my husband gives me the injections, so unless he is going to travel with me, I would be in a bind come injection time!
@jenn6782 I had to do my own PIO for 2 days last week while I was traveling and away from DH (he normally does it for me also.) It was weird at first, since I was standing in front of a full-length mirror, half twisted, trying to find a good spot to stick myself into lol. It definitely took longer, but I was able to do it myself. Hopefully you can too, if needed!

Hi Ladies! Been pretty MIA due to travel and hectic schedule. Looks like there's been lots going on! Congrats to the BFPs and good luck to those PUPO!!
I went to the RE on Saturday for a lining check (on what ended up being day 19 due to travel) and I wasn't there yet. RE upped my estrodial and is hoping for a better result on Wednesday. Has anyone else experienced this? RE just said that some people absorb it slower and take longer, but who knows.
Good luck to everyone testing this week!

I'll be traveling again from NJ to Toronto and then torOnto to Edmonton to Nj for a week during week 12. If I make it that far. My RE is pretty laid back with things because if you're going to miscarry it's not going to be because you flew...if that makes sense. But I flew after a few days after beta and have had several US since then and everything is fine.
@jenn6782 My RE didn't want me to fly until at least a week after my transfer. I just flew from Prague, Czech Republic to Colorado on 4 different flights and the longest was 8.5 hrs and I was awake for 24 hrs. I was exactly 9dp5dt on my travel day - and so far I am still pregnant and beta's are doing what they are suppose to. I made sure to drink lots of water and get up and walk the cabin to prevent any blood stagnation. I am on injectable blood thinners and baby aspirin as well. You might ask your RE about taking baby aspirin leading up to your flight and for your travel days. Good luck!!

As of yesterday i've noticed large bruises and hard spots from the PIO as well as numbness going down my hips and butt and i've only had to do 9 shots! The actual shot never bothers me, i cant even feel them anymore and i do my best to massage them out afterward but clearly i'm not doing enough. Even though i am only 4dpt i am getting eager to POAS i just want to know whats going on in there!

@kjplaza have you tried using a heating pad or taking a hot shower right after the PIO? That seems to help me a little.

@sumo2519 hmm wonder what the heavy feeling is about? I definitely feel you on being tired.
@jenn6782 I definitely agree that it depends on the RE. My RE said no flying either.
@Tulips29 glad you were able to do your own PIO shots.
@Rachnan for my first FET my RE had to increase my estrace and even had me insert one vaginally at bedtime to get my lining to where it needed to be
@dragonfaerie hoping the office calls you soon. Praying for great numbers today!
