hey ladies!! Hope everyone is having an enjoyable Sunday so far. I had a discussion with my DH last night that i wanted to bake cookies or brownies or something for the hospital staff for when we go into L&D. He suggested something store bought because the staff likely wouldnt eat something homemade for fear of not knowing what was put in it. I should mention my hubby is a cop and is always at the hospital on prisoner watch and when good people come in with home baked goods for the ER staff they often say thank you and throw it away. I tried suggesting a maternity ward is very different than the ER but i wanted to get some input from the team here. What does everyone think?
Re: Treats for hospital staff
dozen bagels and a jug of coffee for the staff, unless we are discharged at like, lunch or dinner time, then we will figure something else out.
Occasionally families would order pizzas or would bring bagels with butter and cream cheese which was such a nice treat on a busy day.
I went out and bought a bunch of $10 starbucks gift cards and thank you cards and am planning on giving each nurse one at the end of their shift as a thank you. It's a little excessive, but this way I know that nurses that work with me and baby get thanked/rewarded instead of whoever happens to be on the day we leave. And like I said, I used to work as a mother/baby nurse so I wanted to go above and beyond because I know how tough and stressful that job can be.
