Mild cramping/increased CM?

I had a very early loss in March and got a BFP on Monday. This is my second pregnancy. I've noticed this time around that I get very mild cramping, on and off. Is this normal? Naturally I get worried and always run to the bathroom to check myself because I associate cramping with bleeding! But I've been in the clear up to this point.

Ive also had increased CM (which is not new this time--I experienced this last time as well). If I'm driving or doing something where I can't immediately check myself, I get freaked out when the CM comes out as it is the same sensation as when AF starts! Gah.

I've had a lot of cramping and CM and have had some freak-outs here and there where I thought it was going to be blood, but nope. Mine started right before 4 weeks and still comes and goes as I'm getting closer to 8 weeks. I called my OB the first time that it happened and they said it was very normal. As long as the cramping is mild and you're not bleeding, it's most likely due to hormonal changes and your uterus starting to expand a little bit in preparation. It's also common to see an increase in white or pale CM when your mucus plug starts forming.

I totally understand the fear. I check my underpants at least 826619273 times/day and every time I pee I expect to see blood. Some degree of cramping is normal. I was told that the cramping shouldn't be worse than period cramps. Most of the time when I have cramps, I drink a ton of water (dehydration causes cramping of the uterus) and sometimes take two Tylenol.

    Increased cm is also normal.
  • Ugh the random cm dripping freaks me out too.

I have mild cramping and increased CM as well. I'm also running to the bathroom constantly to check and make sure that it's not bleeding.

  • Same here as well, I'm extra paranoid. I don't remember cramping with my 1st.

I'm so happy I'm not alone! I'm also having mild cramping consistently... not awful but I was concerned. Knowing its normal is awesome.
  • With my first I had cramping so bad I ended up in the ER. Going over bumps while in the car put me in tears. The docs told me it was just my uterus growing and it was very normal. I've had cramping this time too and I still can't help but worry. As long as there is no blood everything is ok.

I am in the same boat you guys! Today they have been a little more uncomfortable than the last few days and it freaked me out.. I am checking like crazy and nothing so :) there.  We told the MIL/FIL that we are pregnant today and I was telling her about it and she said it is probably just the uterus stretching/growing... but man it does freak me out.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one!! The cramping occurs off and on and doesn't rise to the level of period cramps. I'll just move forward knowing that this is a relatively common thing and is not associated with a bad outcome!

Does anyone else feel a dull pressure in your pelvis? It feels like a balloon. It's really not painful, just full and weird feeling. I feel like I felt this way MUCH later with dd1
  • @ThePax89--I noticed this a little bit last week. It was very subtle but definitely noticeable. I'm learning that pregnancy triggers all kinds of weird sensations :)
  • I'm joining this cramping party. I've had them pretty much constantly since I hit 6 weeks on Friday and am constantly checking when I go the bathroom. All good so far... But it's so uncomfortable!

@thepax89 I've had this on and off since 5wks. But only on one side. It concerned me so much I went to the doctor and had an ultrasound. Everything was fine, just my growing uterus woo.

And @horse232 I'm also learning this. And I need to stop googling every weird feeling!!
