Male Mapping for Infertility

Long Story Short, we are having secondary infertility(my husband) and he has been on chlomid for 3 months and there is still 0 sperm. Has anyone had successful mapping and IVF after no sperm count? Or anything similar?

Unfortunately my DH was in the same boat. He has 0 sperm on his SA's before & after Clomid and had to undergo Micro TESE surgery to extract the sperm. They were able to get several vials and our 1st IVF + ICSI cycle was successful.

@capps42613 did you do fresh or frozen? We are dealing with severe mfi, will be doing ivf with icsi in June.. and I've been seeing a lot of talk about the fact that FETs are more successful than fresh and it's making me nervous!

@LittleSap92014 I've heard the same facts, however, luckily we had success on our 1st fresh cycle!

Thanks for the response. My husband had surgery as a child so they are thinking there could be a blockage.  We will be doing the mapping in a few weeks to find out.

Did they ever determine the issue? Like a blockage or anything?

The urologist contributed it to azoospermia. No blockage or genetic issue detected. He just has a very low sperm count and because of that, it stays in little pockets and doesn't make it out into the ejaculate. I believe they said he is among 1% of the male population that has this issue. Keep me posted, and if you think of any other questions, feel free to ask. Wishing you guys the best of luck!
