Am I the only one?

Am I the only one who's baby is IMPOSSIBLE?! I thought by now things would have gotten better. She hates doing everything...throws a fit if you try putting her in her jumper...won't let me read her books (not interested)...plays with her toys for like 2 minutes..half the time she hates when I even sit her down for anything. I just can't do a thing. Then sometimes she she is just impossible to get to stop crying or go to sleep and usually nursing her is the only thing that works. Just gets so frustrating some days. Everyone else's babies look so happy and like they care carefree and I'm over here like

  • No, it's not only you. I made a similar post a few weeks ago. We've had ups and downs but it seems like all the babies around my sons age seem to do so much better when it comes to entertaining themselves for more than a few minutes at a time. He loves jumping when you hold him but hates being in a stationary jumper. He gets bored with toys easily and now that he's mobile (crawling and pulling up) the things that he's interested in are all the things he shouldn't mess with. So I get absolutely nothing accomplished as long as he's awake. I either have to be holding or entertaining him or just keeping him away from stuff he shouldn't be in. I know it gets easier when they get a bit older but I think every baby is different. While mine may start being "easier" at 10 months, yours may take a year. I've come to the conclusion just taking it a day at a time is the best solution. I've stopped worrying about when it's "normal" to sleep through the night, when will I ever be able to get things done during the day so I have a little time to myself after he goes to bed.. Etc. I just take it one day at a time, enjoy the good stuff and realize the other stuff is temporary.

  • @shelbydd not sure if I read ur post a few weeks ago or not. I only get in here every once in awhile. Some days just get so frustrating. Thank you for ur response! Your so right about enjoying the good stuff and the rest being temporary. I need to keep that in mind!
  • I'm going through the same thing with DD. She was actually pretty happy and content for awhile but a week ago I had to start doing cry it out at night (definitely not my first choice) because she was waking every couple hours and wouldn't put herself back to sleep. She's sleeping great but during the day now she won't let me put her down. It seems to be a separation anxiety I guess. I was on vacation so I'm hoping getting her back on a schedule this week will help. It's very frustrating! Especially having a 3 yr old to chase after too. I hope your LO gives you a break soon!

I found its easier to do events..like going to the pool, going to the park, stroller walks, going to the zoo, or art museum. Sitting outside on a blanket, heading to the store...etc.   It seems Violet gets bored just hanging around the house.  That being said, we all need time at home.
