ENT appt? Opinions needed

So in March little man had a ear infection and a sinus infection.  He was put on antibiotics for 10 days and seemed to be doing better (less cranky and miserable and somewhat sleeping) This cold has not gone totally away since it started. Snot is clear or yellow,  sometimes thick others not.  He's pulling at his left ear alot. Cranky off and on. He's been to the pediatrician numerous times to get his ears checked.  All clear since the March episode.  Hubby seems to think he needs to go to the ENT. I think little dude is teething (finally has 3 teeth) and has a cold.  Should I just appease hubby and make the ENT appt?

    I usually take the stance that it's never a bad idea to pursue an evaluation with a specialist. That being said, it will likely take months to get in with a pediatric ent and they are unlikely to recommend surgery, at least from my research, after just one ear infection when the fluid has cleared (that is the fluid in his middle ear has cleared, not referring to the mucus in his sinuses). What does your husband want out of an ent eval?

    I would start with a visit to the pediatrician with your husband to discuss your concerns and a plan for treatment.

    @jht4That's what I was trying to explain to my hubby!  One ear infection does not constitute a ent visit.  I think he's paranoid that LO will need tubes because our middle child did (but he also had persistent ear infections not just one).

    @lovelee85 exactly!

    Thank you ladies for backing up my thoughts.  I'm going to tell hubby he can make and take him to the ent if he wants  (I make and take the kids to ALL appts) but I'm not supporting it since I  100% feel its unnecessary

    Have they checked him for a sinus infection again? If his nose is still running after two months, maybe it never cleared completely up?

    I used to get sinus infections after a cold every single time ... could he maybe have gotten another one and need another round of antibiotics? For me, they never went away until I had antibiotics and my nose would run for weeks and weeks and weeks (but I had no issues with my ears).
