Re: UO 5/19
The baby moccasins craze. Sure I suppose they are cute. But, the company (freshly picked) that everyone seems to rave about on Instagram sells them for a mere 60 dollars a pair! I would never spend 60 bucks on infant shoes, especially when they don't need them. Heck I have a hard time spending 60 dollars on a pair of shoes for myself, which I would wear for years and years.
Also, I don't really think this is an unpopular opinion, but crib bumpers. I feel like it is pretty well known that they increase the risk of SIDS. And yet people still buy them and take photos of them in the cute little decorated nurseries and say things like "oh they are just for looks, I won't keep them on when the baby sleeps in there." Then why buy them? SMH.

I had my hospital tour and it was just 3 of us that were pregnant and showed up, one of them proceeds to ask what should she be looking at for her hospital gown because she is bringing her own, i believe that is a complete waste of money and i will dirty up as many at the hospital before i dirty any of my clothes. My cousin said maybe she is trying to follow her family trend where she will keep her gown for decades to come. Personally that is something i would not do. Then the nurse told her ask your OB because they are the ones that will give you the OK and are the ones delivering your baby.
Also, like my in laws, they choose not to involve themselves in DDs life very often. They see her when we bring her up there and what not but make no effort otherwise so I'm not going to go out of my way to make sure they see this LO like I did with DD because it's wasted effort in my opinion.

As for crib bumpers, we did eventually use them once she was maybe 9-10 mos old because her hands and feet were getting stuck in the crib rails. We asked our pedi about it first, and he was like well the recommendation is that you're not supposed to use them anymore, BUT in my 35 years of practice I've never seen a baby die from being suffocated by a crib bumper. And he left it at that.
My UO, and it's going to be a controversial one, is that I just can't get on board with wearing a bikini while pregnant. I know lots of women do it, and I saw a bunch in Disney, which is what made me think of this - but I just can't get there. I've tried, I really have, and I feel better in my pregnant body that I ever have in my life, but I just can't get on the pregnant-in-a-bikini bandwagon. Tankinis I'm good with, and that's usually what I wear, but showing the whole belly - nope, can't do it, not a fan.

My UO for today: I do not understand houses that have more bathrooms than bedrooms. I have several friends house-shopping right now and I keep seeing houses on the market with 3 beds, 4-5 baths. Who needs that many bathrooms when they only have enough people to fill three bedrooms?!

I also hate baby shoes for infants. I think they are adorable (just because they are so small) but I just cant imagine spending money on something that an infant doesn't even need. I actually told my mom, sisters and MIL not to buy baby shoes until the baby can walk...I'm not sure they liked that too much but oh well.

I also think anyone who wants to can wear a bikini. Go nuts, have fun, celebrate your body. Apply sunscreen liberally.
He INSISTS we should reuse our 2011 city mini for baby. It has been well loved, has mold stains, worn, etc. He can't get over how much his parent spent (again, 5 years ago) and how it's just the perfect stroller, he knows how to use it, hasn't broken it, etc.
My MIL wanted to buy us a new stroller and he said no.
I may strangle him.
My dd wears moccasins, although, I buy them off etsy for a lot less than fp. I am willing to pay for good shoes as soon as they start walking but don't find much point before then.
My UO is that I absolutely HATE how large my chest gets while pregnant and nursing. As if I don't look big enough, these watermelons make me look ridiculous.
