@Hoping4Success It is much too early for me to test... my two weeks is up on the 23rd so I won't be testing until then!  Maybe I misunderstood, I thought you said your IUI was on Tuesday but I think you might have meant the previous Tuesday.  If that's the case, then you're almost to your testing day!  Good luck!

@Hoping4Success The progesterone check is to make sure you ovulated, and that is a nice high number so that's good!  Unfortunately progesterone levels have nothing to do with pregnancy, however you do have to ovulate to achieve pregnancy and you need enough progesterone to sustain implantation so that's why they test it.  Your doctor might have put you on supplements (like suppositories) if your progesterone wasn't high enough.  Also, it's smart to wait until your beta day (or 14dpiui, whichever comes first) in order to be able to fully trust the test result, so I'm glad you are waiting until Tuesday.  Good luck!!

  • @wifeinraleigh28 yes i am on supposetories and they mimic every pragnancy system possible so im not symptom spotting 2 more days ugh i am not very hopeful idk why with mu low amh i feel like ivf is the best route but them also read successes with iui and dor so idk so hard to go through
  • IVF is the treatment of choice for our diagnosis too (MFI), but IUI could still work.  I know the odds of success with IUI are low no matter what your diagnosis is though.  Still, we try this first and hope for the best!

  • @wifeinraleigh28 i know i just think after this i will di 2 more iui but ask for more aggressive meds for more follies and see from there if this cycle is a but i will probabaly have to wait until july even aug im on vaca so i cant be monitired thn july hubby is going out if town 2nd week of july so depends where my af stand thats my plan i just feel like sometimes iui is a waste for dor patients but then idk its tough
  • That's what we did too... this is our 3rd IUI since November.  We had to take time off in between due to our travel plans.  If this 3rd IUI doesn't work we're going to start IVF next month.  I know it's so tough but taking a break is good for your body so you can recover from the meds.  So just relax and try to enjoy your vacation!!

  • @wifeinraleigh28 yes i know we are gone for a week but i might still consider asking for clomid and maybe ti where i dont have to be monitired so im not skipping out a cycle you know
  • Well hopefully it won't even come to that and you will have a positive beta on Tuesday!  GL :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your BFN.

I've done a bunch of IUIs (more than I should have, but I was optimistic).  It's such a roller coaster.  Fingers crossed for your next step!
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science

    7 IUIs, 7 BFNs.
2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs.
Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire.
Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus!
fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP!
Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)

  • @KLake42 thank you the plan is 1more iui before going to ivf so scared
  • KLake42KLake42 member
@Hoping4Success, that's a solid plan.  IUIs are emotionally rough, but physically, IVF is way different.  It's good to give it another shot.

I wish I could say the right thing to ease your fear, though.  This shit is hard, but there are a lot of women here who are going through it, and they've really helped normalize it for me, talking about it here.  I think it's totally normal and healthy to be scared, but we are not alone in this.
