Intro Post - IVF First Round

Hi all. My husband and I have been married for 4 years and we have a beautiful daughter who is 2.5 years old. We started TTC #2 in the fall of 2014.

My cycles ended up being all over the place and OPKs were coming in negative, so finally in July 2015, we saw my OB/GYN who started us on Clomid. After 3 unsuccessful cycles, I had an HSG. We ended up doing another round of Clomid, had a two cycle break and then two final failed rounds of Clomid.

At this point, they finally decided to check my husband (they waited as we already had a healthy child). It was determined that he had morphology and motility issues so we were referred to a specialist.

We had our consult the end of March 2016 and we were diagnosed with Secondary Infertility. The RE also told us that a cholesterol medicine my husband had been taking since his pancreatitis in May 2015 could have been the issue as it isn't recommended for people of child bearing age. We were given the options to keep trying on our own or pursuing IVF-ICSI.

We are officially doing IVF. In Mid-April, I had a sono HSG which resulted in them removing some scar tissue and aspirating a cyst on my left ovary.

I just had my ER this past Sunday where 13 eggs were retrieved but only 9 were proper size. We found out Monday that all 9 fertilized. We are patiently waiting for our FET sometime in June.

The Bump got me through my first pregnancy when I hadn't told anyone we were pregnant, so I'm hoping for that same support through this process. Best wishes to all.

    Best of luck!  We also are in our first IVF cycle due to sperm morphology and motility issues.  We had our retrieval last Thursday (May 12th) and the transfer today.  Good luck to you!

    10/2009 - TTC#1 Stopped BCP! Let's DO this!
    1/2010 - BFP (Natural) --> 10/2010 - DS born! Yay!
    12/2010 - DH diagnosed with stage 3B testicular cancer. #cancersucks
    10/2011 - Complications with DH and lymph nodes in groin area removed. No longer able to ejaculate.
    1/2014 - TTC#2 - IUI#1. No luck. Findings: DH sperm did not survive freeze. RE recommends IVF with ICSI.
    3/2014 - IVF Cycle #1 Started BCP
    4/2014 - Lupron, Gonal-F, and Menopur
    5/7/2014 - ER day (25 eggs retrieved, 15 mature)
    5/10/2014 - 6 fertilized, 3 embryos frozen - one grade A and two Grade B. Plan was to grow out to blastocyst stage but rest of eggs arrested by day 3. Decided to freeze on day 3.
    2/9/2016 - FET #1 with Grade A (8 cell - 3 day embryo); 2/20 - Beta was <5. BFN.  :/ Waiting for period and start next FET.
    7/8/2016 - FET #2 with Grade B (8 cell - 3 day embryo), fingers crossed this one sticks. :)
    7/19 - Beta was 74. BFP!!!!; 7/21 - Beta was 182; 1st U/S on 8/2; 2nd U/S on 8/16 :)

    Hi @becky3211  & @KD01 I wish both of you all the luck. Please be conscience of the other ladies on the board and not announce a BFP as a new poster. I hope your stays are short. When (!, not if!) you do get those, there is a PG after IF board linked at the top of the page.

    #11 or IVF with scarring still inside?
    1 lone embryo from September 2016 retreival, dx with Trisomy 16, starting fresh
