My doctor said as long as you reheat lunch meat it's fine. The heat should kill anything. I have lunch meat at least once a week.... and I'm going to have to check my granola bars now. Darn it!
I sometimes wonder if these types of things keep happening because of how corporate America runs companies. You know, the whole "do more with less" strategy. It's all about money and output over quality products.
It seems to be the healthier options for food too (granola, vegetables, etc). It's so irritating!

The article mentions the sunflower seeds, which there was a previous recall for. This may not even be a new contamination, just more products and/or batches affect than they originally realized. I love sunflower seeds just recently just bought a different brand, but now I think I will just switch to almond slices for now.
@midwestbaby, I often wonder if these things are related to commercial farming practices.
Ugh, it's always things that you least suspect! Granola bars, Seriously?! I would think with all the processing they go through, no bacteria could be left!
I just returned two boxes of veggie burgers to trader joes that were recalled. It's mind boggling to me how it's being found in so many different products! I did however pick up a giant container of dark chocolate covered almonds while I was there that better not get recalled or I'll be depressed
@midwestbaby - I think you are absolutely correct in that!
And someone mentioned soft cheese, I've yet to come across a soft cheese that is unpasteurized! And thank goodness, because I can't get enough goat cheese right now.
It's really kind of creepy how many products are affected by listeria right now...
@Car0liiine Well, we're not supposed to be gardening either due to toxoplasmosis risk so I guess growing what we eat is out too... I like @LWC1112's all fried food diet idea!
Re: MORE Listeria!
For serious.
#earlyfffc - I've been eating lunch meat in pannis. I figure that's reheated right?
