Next milestone/appointment? We have a u/s and Ob appointment on Thursday. Excited/nervous!!

Rant/Rave/Anything else: Rant - worst headache ever! Rave - the end of first tri is coming into view on the horizon. Woohooo.

GTKY: Where has your favourite vacation that you've been on? I studied abroad in Greece and Turkey for a summer in undergrad, and that was amazing. We did very little studying and a whole lot of beaching and partying.

Weeks: 8w2d

Next milestone/appointment? I was 8w2d when my miscarriage happened. I'll feel a lot better when today is over.

Rant/Rave/Anything else: We are going to visit my brother and SIL (and we'll see my parents because they live across the road) so that DH can meet our new niece! He wasn't able to go with me last week because of work.

rant - His mom can't handle us being in the area without seeing her too, so now we have to go eat lunch with her. Even though apparently she's inviting herself up Thursday. Ugh.

GTKY: Where has your favourite vacation that you've been on? Charleston, SC! I was only there for a few days and want to go back. Such a nice place.

Weeks: 11w 4d (although they moved up my EDD again at my ultrasound today... But I'm just ignoring it. Too confusing).

Next milestone/appointment? I had my NT scan today and everything looked great/normal! Baby is flipping around in there! 2 arms and 2 legs! It was so fun. We wait a week for the results from the blood test (we ended up getting standard screening and not cell free DNA).

Rant/Rave/Anything else: Didnt sleep well last night and had to be up early for my appointment. It's going to be a long day.

Weeks: 10+5 weeks

Next milestone/appointment? I have my first appointment and u/s on Friday! It has been so nerve-wracking to wait this long to see our little nugget but we are so excited!

Rant/Rave/Anything else: Rave- We got a brand new kitten! There is a picture of her on the thread about weekend plans from Saturday, so I won't post one here. But she is fluffy and solid white with blue eyes. We named her Sophie and she is such a doll. Rant: We got Sophie from someone who found her and couldn't keep her. Just our luck, she is covered in fleas and ticks, smells like a skunk, and is not fully potty trained. She's usually good about the letterbox but she has peed on our bed twice now. She can jump up here but can't or won't jump down. And now I'm having to give her de-skunking baths and I've given her three now and she still stinks. I gave her a small dose of Revolution last night and the fleas and ticks are falling off so I think we are in the clear on that one. She's such a sweetie but definitely a lot more work than I expected.

GTKY: Where has your favourite vacation that you've been on? Hawaii! I went for a school choir trip one summer. I love the beach and there were so many cool things that I was able to do on that trip. I would love to go back.

GTKY: Where has your favourite vacation that you've been on?
I went to Europe after my senior year in high school and before my first year in college for 3 weeks. We went to England, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Amsterdam, and the Vatican. I went with a group of about 15 and we stayed at hostiles and visited a ton of places....Dachau concentration camp, the Louvre, the Paris catacombs, Dover castle, Palace of Versailles, the Colliseum, etc. Awesome trip and learned a ton (one of the people that went was a history teacher who specialized in European history). Really wish I could go back but with my husband at some point.

Next milestone/appointment? My next appointment isn't until 6/14 - so so far away!

Rant/Rave/Anything else: I told my boss this morning, it felt really early but I'm starting a new project with the potential for no travel and I really want the no travel to pan out. He was happy for me and jealous of the 16 weeks maternity leave lol. It's a relief to have it out in the open because he's friends with my husband and I outside work and my husband was dying to tell him.

Questions? None at the moment!

GTKY: Where has your favourite vacation that you've been on? I really enjoyed Hawaii! I was there for a week for work last summer and my husband came out and we stayed an extra week. I'd love to go back but it was really nice to get there and back with work paying for half.

Next milestone/appointment? Today!!! Had my N/T scan (I know it's supposed to be done between 11-13 weeks but my GP insisted on going by my LMP even though my 2 previous U/s's have been exactly a week behind *eyeroll*) Everything went well, we got to hear the HB for the first time and it was the icing on the cake, DH can't stop talking about it

Rant/Rave/Anything else: I am super tired today and cant get enough water, I think I had about 5 L today!!

GTKY: Where has your favourite vacation that you've been on? My favourite would have to be Honduras in 2015, the weather was not the best and the resort was nowhere near a 5* but the food was awesome, the drinks were great, it was small but not too busy. And the excursions were the best, ziplining, hot springs, mud bath and massage the one day and then snorkelling in crystal blue waters another day.

Next milestone/appointment? Appointment tomorrow, and the end of the 1st trimester is near!

Rant/Rave/Anything else: I'm having a lot of drama with my toxic mother this weekend. Pray for me y'all.

Questions? I see some of y'all are doing the NT, but I called and my OB's nurse said they do not do NT scans. My next ultrasound is at 20 weeks. Is this becoming a common thing, nixing the NT? Are these blood tests replacing it? I'm just kind of confused because so many people talked about it and now I am not getting one.

GTKY: Where has your favourite vacation that you've been on? Scotland for our honeymoon. We spent a week in Edinburgh exploring the city. Really would love to return and stay longer.

@aevan011 Do you know about how big your provider is? They may not do it because there isn't a high enough demand for them to have the equipment. Have you seen if they would refer you to someone who does it just in case you did want it done?

Also, my last pregnancy in October I was told that my OB did not offer pregnancy confirmation, but this pregnancy it was offered to me. So not to discredit the knowledge of whoever you talked to, but I would see if tomorrow you can get some more specific answers from your OB.

@ashleaf2018 They are pretty good sized provider at least for this town - they're basically one of two offices in this town, each associated with a different hospital system. The one I go to has a separate dedicated hospital for women & children. So I would hope they have the equipment, but you might be right.
I will for sure be asking my doctor directly tomorrow, but I'm glad I called today after seeing several people mention it, because I just assumed that's what this appt would be. Saves me a lot of anxiety at least knowing.
Thanks for responding, lack of equipment or lack of knowledge may be the answer. Just seemed like it'd be routine.

All went well at today's appt, and OB said they do not do the NT because of the margin of error and even if they did she would not recommend it for me given my anxiety levels. However, they do NIPT and I'll be going for that next week, so I feel fine having that option instead.

She also told me to let her know if I feel like I need to be seen more frequently, and she would make sure I got more monitoring if it helped my anxiety. (After I told her I went for a private U/S for my sanity) Knowing that's an option really is what I needed to hear. Feeling much more at peace now.

@ashleaf2018 I really do love my OB! After the experience of our first pregnancy loss, she has been so sensitive but does NOT sugar coat things, which I appreciate.

Weeks: 11 weeks 1 day

Next milestone/appointment? this afternoon! We wil have the NT scan and find out what genetic testing I will have done, since my insurance denied the NIPT. I am excited and anxious to see the gummy, I just want to see and hear the HB through the Doppler, never have gotten that far before.

Rant/Rave/Anything else: Rant: Well, see above. Annoyed that my doctor thought I was definitely eligible for NIPT and now insurance says NO. We will find out what the next steps are today. Also, nausea has subsided and only comes in waves. Fatigue still remains.
Rave: Seeing my gummy today in less than 6 hrs!

Questions? Have you guys already told your work? I am planning on waiting until next week, but my bloat is starting to look like a pregnancy...

GTKY: Where has your favourite vacation that you've been on? I have enjoyed all of my vacations, but I would say that two make it to the top: a cruise with hubby and family going to the Caribbean, due to the company! And my trip to Japan, which I did alone!

@queenklau Exciting for your NT scan!! will you post a pic for us??? I have told one of my jobs but that was only because I had that scare a couple weeks back and had to excuse myself from work to go to the ER downstairs to get checked out. I'm waiting 2 more weeks to tell my other job

@queenklau - I hope you have a good scan! It is hilarious to see. Our baby was a little jumping bean earlier this week. So funny to see all that movement.

I have not told work yet. I am waiting until my genetic testing comes back. As of right now there's no reason they need to know so I figure I can make it at least a few more weeks.

Weeks: 11w3d

Next milestone/appointment? 5/31 (N/T scan, even though it's not really necessary since I had NIPT)... this is the longest I've gone between appts so far this pregnancy and the wait is KILLING me.

Rant/Rave/Anything else: I got the results from my Harmony test yesterday and baby looks good! Low risk for all chromosomal abnormalities and she's a GIRL! My third. I'm so pumped.

GTKY: Where has your favourite vacation that you've been on? Napa Valley. We went for our honeymoon 7 years ago and have been back 4 times since. It's such a beautiful place.

@beff12 Charleston is incredible! We went for our anniversary last November and had such a blast! I can't wait to go back.

Next milestone/appointment? Getting my NIPT (Verifi) test results back

Rant/Rave/Anything else: I just got out and washed all my summer maternity shirts. DS was an August baby so I have a bunch and it is in better shape than my non-maternity summer wardrobe. Being that I am tall, I like the extra length maternity shirts provide.

GTKY: Where has your favorite vacation that you've been on?

DH and I did a lot of traveling in the 6 years before we had kids. My favorite vacation was a 12-night cruise in the Mediterranean and Greek islands. We went to 11 different stops and spend the whole day at each place. Then at night you could come back on the ship and sleep/eat. It was so nice not to have to move our luggage all around to see all those places. We also went towards the off season (October) so it was a really really good price. I think we paid like $800 each and it included all food, lodging, transport, and entertainment. We could not even get 12 nights in hotels in the Mediterranean for that cost. There were only like 2 other younger couples on the ship, but we still met so many fun people to hang out with.

I have told my manager at work and some of my work friends, I will tell the team next time I am in the office (I work from home) in a few weeks.

@R0824H and @penelope4612, NT scan went great, baby measuring right, bouncing around and deemed low risk. Waiting to get the blood drawn for the first tri screen. I posted the u/s on the threat. What an amazing technology, baby was so clear, we got some great profile pics. thank you so much for the good vibes!

@queenklau I told my immediate supervisor (only two of us in our dept) pretty early, just in case I'd need time off for any reason. I've told some closer coworkers but have not formally announced - but people are starting to notice & ask. Praying I don't have to tell our big boss anytime soon because the less I tell her about my personal life, the better.

Thanks guys. My boss is on vacation until Wed (12w2d), so I think I will tell him them. I am starting to look rounder and rounder by the day, people will start noticing (if they haven't already). He should hear it from me first. I'll update next week.

You guys I just realized that I made it past my EDD (Wednesday) without even noticing it. I'm a little sad but mostly relieved. I was really dreading it last week. But a good NT scan and a busy week at work was enough to distract me I guess.
